BLASPHEMOUS MOVIE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST BASED ON BEST-SELLING FICTION BOOK AND DIRECTED BY WORLD-FAMOUS DIRECTOR BOMBS AT THE BOX OFFICE

By Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher of MOVIEGUIDEŽ

HOLLYWOOD, CA (ANS) -- MOVIEGUIDEŽ announces with certainty that a blasphemous movie about Jesus Christ, who fantasizes about marrying Mary Magdalene, based on a best-selling fiction book, directed by a famous Hollywood director, bombed at the box office with only $8.3 million in domestic ticket sales.

Furthermore, the studio lost $50 million in production, promotion and advertising on this sure-fire hit movie.

No, it's not THE DA VINCI CODE; it's THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST.

Needless to say, at that point in history, just a few short years ago (1988), Christian leaders were willing to condemn such blasphemy. Now, some Christian leaders, including those supposedly involved in the arts, have decided to join Judas and Neville Chamberlain in calling for people to go see a movie that is just as blasphemous as THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST.

Aside from the fact that encouraging people to view blasphemy is repulsive to God and man, it shows how the Church has compromised with their world system and abandoned the simple truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST and THE DA VINCI CODE are bad news because they in fact deny the truth of the Good News that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (see John 3:16) However, many people, especially children, who see THE DA VINCI CODE will not have a clear biblical perspective, or the critical tools and historical education necessary, to refute the movie's cruel, blasphemous, slanderous allegations. Even those who think that they have the tools and are not solid theologically will walk away mentally bruised, blemished and spoiled from seeing this theological travesty, as we know from considerable research.

Christian leaders should, of course, speak against the DA VINCI CODE movie and to the movie, but they should not become shills for the movie. Today, however, those shills are even ridiculing on Da Vinci sponsored websites the saints such as Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, who stood so valiantly against THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST and helped to cause it to bomb at the box office.

Some of these men, who are denigrating Dr. Bright and those who stood against the forces of the Adversary in the firm knowledge that the Gates of Hell could not stand against the people of God, are so arrogant that they think they can instruct children after our young people in immature stages of development have been perverted by seeing this movie and reading this vile book.

These Quislings, Chamberlains and Judases occupy positions of power inside the church. However well meaning they may be, they are false prophets. They get their facts wrong and the church needs to stand for truth, not those who compromise with the lies of Dan Brown and misguided, ill-informed Hollywood elites.

It is a great book (really leaves you on the egde of your seat) but some of the action is phoned in. Good narrative style as well.
