Sister Terri,
Thank you for the compliments, but I must say that God gets all the Glory. If we do anything well, it must come from Him. I'm just happy and humbled that God would use me for anything. I've been a Christian most of my life, and I'm sure that God called me to be a Christian police officer. I loved the work and would still be doing it if I physically could.
I do love to share God's Word with other Christians and the lost. I've prayed many times about what God wants me to do, and I feel led that it's Christians Unite. I honestly feel that God has given me just enough health and strength for this work, and I am happy doing it. My dad and many others in my family spent their whole lives in the ministry, but I know that I don't have the health for that now. I know in my heart that God wants to use all of us in one way or another, but it might not be as a pastor. I also know in my heart that it makes us happy to do what God wants done. I really said this wrong: it's God working in and through us, but we must be willing. Whatever the task, it should make us happy to be used by God. I know there are many people on the forum who God is using for His Work, and I'm just happy to be one of them.
Sister, we have quite a few pastors on the forum and I give thanks for them. I'm positive that those who are called have long and hard hours. I make a big distinction between those who are called to be pastors and those who are simply employed as a pastor. This would be a long story, but I think that everyone knows what I mean. Bluntly, one is for loving JESUS and one is just for a pay check. I know that it's not an either or, rather many other categories in between. I also know that pastors must provide for their families, so I'm not saying anything bad about a pastor getting a pay check.
Love In Christ, Tom
