This is an old saying that holds a lot of truth. Today we see the idea that the nation at large should know what the government is doing in complete detail. This idea is largely supported by such organizations as the ACLU, CAIR and other such liberal "freedom" organizations and is exploited by the press as "our right to know". Unfortunately when this happens this news is also given over to those that would have the U.S. and ALL of it's citizens destroyed.

In recent months we have seen a lot of information that our government is doing in an attempt to stop our enemies from infiltrating us and bring harm to us being displayed as public information. The enemy now knows how to go around these actions to prevent from being exposed and caught. Leaving the U.S. as a whole to either come up with other strategies of defence just to have those methods exposed also.

Yet these very people that support this freedom of information are also the very ones that will suffer. Such release of information does cost lives. It costs the lives of our soldiers, our citizens, our children. When the public knows what the government is going to do then so does the enemy. The enemy then knows how to counteract these actions. This does costs lives.

It used to be considered an act of treason to release such information without prior approval. Now all one needs do is to open a newspaper or go on the internet and the information is there. What ever happened to the old adage "a need to know"? It no longer exists because everyone considers that they have the need and the right to know all things (including the enemy).

The news today shows where and what our government plans to do about the situation in Tehran. This is like saying "I'm going to punch you in the face with a right hook" and then not expecting it to be blocked. If the U.S. doesn't come up with a Major Payne move there will be many lives lost do to these leaks.

Senators: Cheney Should Be Probed in Leak

Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald should investigate Vice President Dick Cheney and others in the CIA leak probe if they authorized an aide to give secret information to reporters, Democratic and Republican senators said Sunday.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., called the leak of intelligence information "inappropriate" if it is true that unnamed "superiors" instructed Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, to divulge the material on Iraq.

Sen. George Allen, R-Va., said a full investigation is necessary.

"I don't think anybody should be releasing classified information, period, whether in the Congress, executive branch or some underling in some bureaucracy," said Allen, who appeared with Reed on "Fox News Sunday."

According to court documents disclosed last week, Libby told a federal grand jury that he disclosed in July 2003 the contents of a classified National Intelligence Estimate as part of the Bush administration's defense of intelligence used to justify invading Iraq.

Fitzgerald said in the documents it was his understanding that "Mr. Libby testified that he was authorized to disclose information about the NIE to the press by his superiors."

The White House has refused to comment on the case.

"I think this calls into question in terms of Fitzgerald's investigation of the conduct of the vice president and others," Reed said. "I think he has to look closely at their behavior."

Allen expressed confidence in Fitzgerald, whom he called "a very articulate, professional prosecutor."

"And I think the facts will lead wherever they lead, and I think he will prosecute as appropriate," Allen said.

Libby, 55, was indicted on charges that he lied to FBI agents and the grand jury about how he learned CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity and when he told reporters. He is not charged with leaking classified information.

While they are at it they also need to probe the NSA leak and all the other leaks that are happening in government.

Pastor Roger, add to the list, the Congressional intelligence committee. Which has more secrets, leaked then any other committee. As I know you were in the service, I'm surprised you didn't list them.

Hmmm .... yeah I did overlook them .... I wonder if it has anything to do with the misnomer. I never could handle using the word "Congressional" in conjunction with "Intelligence" every since the liberals had anything to do with it.

Lol, how did you come to that conclusion? I didn't think it was contradicting. It was more like a message contained in a creative work. Grin Grin Really, I thought it was like "A and B" is true only if both A and B are true. Shocked
