I got my Super Sports Pak which gets me NFL Sunday Ticket, NFL Network, NHL, NBAA, and yes, even NASCAR!

I got my Rams hat, my Rams helmet, and my Kurt Warner #13, (even though Wanrer's moved on).

So while my snacks are more of the healthier variety, my decibel levels rate up there with the best of them!!!

And, not only do I WATCH college ball, I rate the prospects for next year's draft, which I faithfully watch every year.

And then, there's also the CFL, (the C stand for Canadian, eh). Go Argos!!!!!!!

Think I'm ready for football?
Huh  Well I got my NASCAR! Cheesy

I used to be a big football fan, but as I 've grown in my Christian life, I've become more and more convinced major sports (football especially) are a form of idol worship.

Of course, I'll still follow the Penguins, at least until Mike Lange retires.

Steeler Fans pretty much sold me on the fact people take football much too seriously when they put up the Ben Rothsthisberger banner claiming he was "Heaven Sent"

People in Western PA have raised football to the status of religion.

I'd post more about it in the "Why America Isn't Mystery Babylon?" folder Dreamweaver started, but BronzeSnake would pile on the invectives.

I find that completely ironic. I'm not the one with my own personal bitter blog. Cheesy

Did Jesus complain when He was being put on trial?
Remember, He was actually totally innocent and yet not a peep of complaint.

Did Jesus keep a journal of every wrong done to Him?
Did Jesus whip out smart-alecky comments at His tormentors?

No! He did the exact opposite.

Luk 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

If I were you, I would get rid of the chip on my shoulder and do as Jesus did my friend.
I would wipe clean my bitter blog, because if you don't, you will be judged as you have judged all those who you perceive have done you wrong, and judging by your bitter blog, just about everyone you come into contact with has done you wrong.

Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps, just maybe, you may be wrong, at the very least sometimes?

I can't find a single entry on your pity blog where you describe a wrong you have ever done against anyone - it's full of accusation and scathing remarks about people who have done you wrong.

Forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.

I know you think I'm being derogatory, but I am not.
I am honestly concerned for you my friend. I honestly believe you are putting yourself in danger with the Lord by harbouring all these bitter feelings toward those who you feel have slighted you in some way.

I honestly believe you need talk to a pastor, and relay your angry feelings. tell him how you feel, be honest. Show him your blog entries. Pray with him, and follow his instructions.

We can all get down from time to time, sometimes we get to the point where we get buried so deep in our anger, or depression, or bitterness that we can't really understand what's going on around us. Everyone becomes an enemy, or a potential enemy. Every innocent remark seems directed at you in a derogatory manner. The most innocuous discussion becomes full of spite and innuendo, and all directed at you. Everyone is out to get you.

In the Holy name of Jesus - my brother please get help. Get back to the point where you can be a joy to others - where you don't have to feel like you're being constantly attacked, and having to be on the defensive all the time.

I am here if you need to talk. I am offering friendship, if you want it - honest, real friendship.

As well as I am, all you have to do is Pm me.  Ask me in a thread, if you wish. I'm sure BRNZ is saying the same thing.

HEY!!!!!!
This is a FOOTBALL thread!

Quote
People in Western PA have raised football to the status of religion.

When I was in high school, (a loooooooong time ago) the church I attended in Texas would let out 15 minutes early on the Sundays the Cowboys games started at noon.

I thought that was uncalled for.

I am, however, a football fan.  My dream game is the Cowboys and Raiders in the Superbowl.  Hmmm.  Probably not this year, but you never know....

A quote that may go down in history:
Quote
I've been bitter.  It rots.  Don't do it.
Or, simply "Bitterness rots."
Allinall, 2005

I'll take that advice.  Smiley

DW - NASCAR season is ending.  (Isn't it?  Huh )
It's time for FOOTBALL!

Phil - I think the Ain'ts should follow the Hornets' lead (if the Hornets take up the offer...) and go to OKC.  GREAT market for any athletic team.

But I bet San Antonio will host the Aints - they have the means, the facilites, the will, and the N.O. tradition!  Who else loses better than the defenders of the Alamo?Huh?  Grin  Well - maybe the French - but... aren't he Aint's basically French???   Grin  Cheesy  Grin  Cheesy

Okay - okay - that was bad.  I appologize...
