Actual gift: How about the Reindeer keychain that poops chocolate pellets?
Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
Funny, I was just looking in one of the catalogs at "Pull My Finger Fred" and "Pull My Finger Fred Jr." dolls.
Then there is the "Whoopee Cushion Slippers" that make noises on each step.
Last for today, the Christian t-shirt that says, "Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth."
In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Brother Love,
I think that all we can do for some folks is pray for them.

Heeheehee! Those are great! The Tshirt would make a great gift for our household-we debate theology every chance we get! (It's part of the great family tradition!) Maybe I'll buy us some of those!

New item for the person-who-has-everything list:
Another toaster; this one is Mickey Mouse, and it toasts the mouse's face on the toast, much like the Hello Kitty. The advantage of this one is that, when the toast pops up, it plays the Mickey Mouse march!

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,
I would buy one of those, but I want a set. I want a Mickey Mouse butter dispenser, Mickey Mouse syrup dispenser, and Mickey Mouse ears to wear while I'm eating my Mickey Mouse toast. Only then would I cheerfully sing along with the toaster on the Mickey Mouse march.

Yeah! Me too!
Or how about the neat egg cooker I saw today? The hen clucks at you when your eggs are cooked!
Everyone has to have one of those! Or the microwavable socks! They have heat-absorbing beads in the sole of the sock. You put them in the microwave, and they keep your feet toasty! A must have for your favorite bro!

Well, I couldn't help but notice something - "above" your post were Mickey Mouse ears and grandfathers singing the "March".
This is a fun thread!

"Wise men still seek Him"
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Are you seeking him?

Yup-we're seeking Him, and having great fun in the process!
Now, about those air leg massage booties, complete with remote control.
Or, for the avid nature lover who prefers bats to birds, why not demonstrate your esteem with a bat house! No far-away viewing with this ideal gift-it hangs directly on your house.
Ahhh, yes. And who could resist the temptation of a stuffed rattlesnake for Christmas!

The Night Before Christmas
«

Subject: Fw: The Night Before Christmas
'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE
MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT;
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE:
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND.
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS...
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS...
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT.
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY.
I FOUND A HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING--
SILENT, ALONE--
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN DISORDER;
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHO I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO;
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THIS SOLDIER
WHO WAS WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON 'ROUND THE WORLD
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOY FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE,
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.
THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE.
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA, DON'T CRY.
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE."
"I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM.
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE.
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP.
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT;
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.
I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL;
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK NIGHT--
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR,
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.
THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND WITH A VOICE, SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON, SANTA.
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL'S SECURE."
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS, MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL, A GOOD NIGHT."
This poem was written by a Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He makes
the following request:
"Would you send this to as many people as you can? Christmas is coming
soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and women for our being
able to celebrate this and other holidays. Let's stop and think of our
true heroes who have sacrificed their lives or parts of their lives so that
we
may enjoy our many freedoms."
