That is Rome, and they only maintains this tradition for political reasons. And they even have a small number of married priests, as ministers from other denominations wish to join, but already have wives. Most every other Catholic rite allows for married priests. As the Archdeacon once said “We need our wives to keep us in line”
And if it where the case, I'd become a fundie before I gave up girls... Wwwwwhhhhhheeeeeeeewwwwww. And here I was feeling all guilty about implying much earlier in a thread I can't remember because I'm old, that you and Willow aught to get together! Speaking of being old and completely off the topic, my pastor says in the Sunday morning service yesterday that he bought his wife a Christmas present a month ago and hid it in one of his normal hiding places. He now has 3 days to find it! That made me laugh quite heartily.

Besides, my wife's the matchmaker in the family. I rather rot at such endeavors. Have a great Christmas with your girl!

That might make an "interesting" situation at home... "Hey, dad! I just met this great guy over the internet! He's a Texan Catholic fish-slapper! Can I bring him to dinner?"

Actually, I think the scariest word might be "guy"...then "internet", and "fish-slapper" would definately be a close third. By now, he would already be thinking "Charismatic meathead"... Just kidding, Tibby!

Ok, long story short, in Veggie Tales movie, Jonah fears going to Nineveh because, as the movie says, the people are mean, evil “and worst of all... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... they slap people with fishes.” The slap other people with fish, they slap eachother with fish, they heven drop massive fish on people as capitol punishment. ain't it great?

"Hey, dad! I just met this great guy over the internet! He's a Texan Catholic fish-slapper! Can I bring him to dinner?" It would in my home if my daughter did such a thing! I absolutely will not stand for my daughters dating a...a...a FISHSLAPPER!!!![/b]

You wouldn’t let me marry one of your girls? lol. I wouldn’t let me marry one of my girls. I hope I have all boys, teenage girls are just to hard to raise. Boys are no problem. Feed him, get him an Xbox, and money to go out with the boys after a game, and the most you have to worry about is that he doesn't distory his car, and the only reason you worry about that is because of the costs! Give me all boys! Unless he is like Sapph... then it is a WHOLE different story

They can't. When I decide to let them court, I've got the claymore and the "castration" speech for their respective courters. I may change later... may...
