Devils - are they real?  

How would you know if you met one?  No jokes, I'm serious.  They walk the earth looking just like humans, don't they?

It's obvious that I think they're real simply by my second question.  Was curious about what others might have encountered.

What do you mean by what kind of a QUESTION was that?  What kind of an answer are you looking for?

No seriously, cris, I took your question literally rather than rhetorically; therefore it seemed odd since you seem well acquainted with scripture.

No, I think there's only demon possession--which of course then the victim might "act" like a devil.

I've listened to Malachi Martin's dissertation on Art Bell's late night radio program, and his experiences.  Not quite sure what to make of that--he's authored several major works on that or works related to exorcism by Catholic priests.

And that the Exorcist movie and story is based on a real-live event in, I believe, St. Louis?  

No, I don't think there are devils here.  Yes, there ARE devils for sure--in hell.  Just "possession" here, I believe.

You don't think they're here on earth but you think some people are possessed?    Whoa, I'm missing something here.  If devils aren't here on earth and people are, then how did a devil possess a person on earth if devils aren't on earth?    

I'm sure you'll disagree with me but in Gen. it talks about 2 seeds - the woman's and the serpent's.  I know what this means traditionally but I've often wondered if there aren't  children of devils walking the earth.  There's a (fringe?) group out there that I read about sometime ago that think so.

We know from the bible it says we can entertain angels unaware.  I would think that would mean either kind (if you believe devils are fallen angels, that is).

Nope.  I envision "devils" as physical creatures.  "Demons" I envision as spirits, which can inhabit physical creatures.  Devils would be the physical manifestation of demons, to me.

Angels can apparently take any form they like.


But I wouldn't doubt that possession could become so extreme here that the person would become essentially a devil.  a matter of degrees, perhaps.

I don't really see "devils" as possessing people.  Demons would do that.

I think "devils" are consigned to hell--literally.

As for children of devils.  Of course, there's the Genesis 6 interpretation that the Nephillum(and any number of their apparent synonyms mentioned variously in the historical OT books), are such; Goliath, for instance.

Perhaps some of them are here today.  Some figures in history make you wonder--Rasputin perhaps, in Russian history, under the last Tsar, for instance.

Devils, demons, fallen angels -  I'm not sure they all aren't the same.  When people were possessed in the time of Christ it was said that they had a devil - other places, a demon.  It seems strange that they were so rampant in Christ's time but not now.  I think we're really desensitized to it and feel they are much more subtle today.

Haven't you ever met anyone who just didn't seem human?  Some (people?) have no character - they have no empathy, feel no guilt, etc.  I call them evil or devils.  The medical community has labels for these people, of course.  One popular psychiatrist/writer (a christian) feels they should be labeled "evil personality disordered" because they baffle the best of psychiatrists be they christian or not.  No one can do anything with them.  Yes, I know God can but the person has to be willing - these people are not.

It isn’t that they are any more rampant if Christ Time. We just load them into Mental Institutions not a days. It isn’t that we are more desensitized, we are just more close-minded to the truth.

I have met people like that...it is amazing what a drastic change they undergo when they come to Christ...they are literally "dead", and come to life...

For sure some are in institutions but most walk on the same streets we do.

How do they come to Christ when they lack character, ie. remorse?  How can they repent when they have no remorse?

I recomemded a very hard knowledge about DEVILS in

Be aware, probably most christians can not accept the fact that devils is soo real even amongs pentecost, charismatic,

or they are OVER SENSITIVE (treat every bad things as from devil, some are due to their own ignorance)

or some are get partially correct about satan and his world.


My opinion is DO NOT TRY to contact with them nor try to know them by doing some searching from UNAUTHORIZED sources. It is correct to know from Godly sources about satan but do not get it from un-authorized sources (you will fall into devil pitfalls).


I knew that sometime, incidentical we face devils, ussual these happen:
1. You rebuke them in Jesus name: devils run away, or stay (ignore it pls)
2. You are shaking, fear    (normal man)
3. or You start to have deep interest in devils (this is BAAAD SIGN, check with your pastor  )
