Hi all,

I am just starting this thread to ask people of their opinion on the pros and cons of Christian technology.

Is it really a good tool? Are these the signs of the end times?

For instance, i recently visited a site called jc-mobile.net and this site is literally packed with Christian technology like a bible you can read on your cell phone, wap email and literally thousands of christian ringtones and wallpapers etc.

And thats just one site, there are many others as well on the web, not to mention the christian internet boom.

Personally i think it is great, that some people are working hard this way, its just that it is all happening quite fast.

What do you guys think?

You'd kind of expect people who subscribe to a Christian internet discussion forum to think its a good thing, wouldn't you?  Cool

yes i do, but there is a serious and big void now forming between those that speak tech and those that still speak B.C. that is another concern?

I think "B.C." folks have their preferred resources just as we do.  The thing I really see with what you term "Christian Technology" is that it allows the word of God to be spread further, faster - and anyone who studies prophesy just a little KNOWS what that means!  (Praise Him!)

Just this site for instance - we see folks like Judas join.  Judas is one who is absolutely SCREAMING for the Word – he just doesn’t know it.  I don’t think Judas would ever walk into a church or call a pastor – so this site uniquely fits the need he doesn’t know he has.   Wink

Certainly people must have asked this with the advent of TV, b4 that the silver screen, radio b4 that, and even the telegraph b4 that.

"Ye shall know them by their fruits".  A Christian is going to be bearing fruit regardless of his "technology".  Don't you think the same q. could have been asked, honeypie, with Gutenberg and his printing press in 1450?

So if you're treated rudely, or brusquely, by some "Christian" techy, then...it speaks for itself.  You are right, there's a vast void developing between the haves, and the have nots, then.

Indeed, honeypie, by virtue of the ever-increasing pace, and sophistication you speak of,  it could be that any Christian identity to speak of in the first place is being gradually absorbed, transmogrified and reconditioned into beings that aren't even recognizable perhaps to the genuine spirit that is Jesus Christ.

When the Son of man returns, will he find faith on earth? (Luke 18:Cool

Maybe in one way or another, we are all being gradually "blinded", even as we sit b4 our screens and quote bible verses to each other.

I think any advance in technology can be used for good or evil.  For example, a car could be used by a christian to commute to and from church, or to spread the gospel over great distances.  A car could also be used by someone evil to transport drugs, or kill or something like that.  Cars are also so integrated into our society, they have become a necessity to live a normal life.  ie. getting to work, getting to town etc etc.  (of course the omish don't see it that way.   Smiley

So with any technology, people who are spiritually minded will use advances to further Gods work, evil people will use it to further wickedness.

Grace and Peace!
