16  Entertainment / Books / Abraham: daily solutions on: March 01, 2015, 12:10:03 AM
Abraham's faith in God was considered as an act of right- eousness. Abraham believed that El' Shaddai was able to give him a child in his old age. God was very pleased with Abraham because he had faith in His commandments. Maybe by your standards, Abraham would have been disqualified. But he was a great man in God's sight. His greatness was as a result of his faith.
Dear Christian friend, God is happy, impressed and pleased when you believe in Him. When you believe that God will heal you, you make God happy! When you believe that your breakthrough is on the
way, God is so pleased with you. When you have faith that you will live long, God is provoked to extend your life. When you believe that God will give you increase and abundance, you excite the deep parts of El' Shaddai. You make Him pour out the milk of His blessings into your life.
From today, never doubt any part of God's Word. Accept that you are the champion He is speaking about. Flow with the message of prosperity, healing and abundance. Always remember that God is happy when you believe in Him.
God did not bring you to Christ in order to demote and disgrace you. He brought you to Christ to lift and establish you in an abundant life. I see you walking in the great blessings of Jehovah! I see you free from sickness and disease! I see the power of curses broken in your life! I see that God is pleased with you because you believe in Him!

SOOTHING EFFECT
Dag Heward-Mills
READ: Isaiah 55:1-11
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth.
Psalm 119:103
Have you ever wondered why there is very little of God's power in the Church today? It is because of the sin that is in the Church (Ephesians 5:5, 6). Thank God that a daily quiet time provides cleansing (John 15:3).
A daily quiet time also produces faith in the average Christian.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The more you read the Bible, the more you will believe in God's power to save. The Bible is replete with hundreds of stories of God's deliverance. You will read about people at the brink of death who were saved by God. You will read about people in difficult and complex situations who were saved by faith. Do not take it for granted. Do not think that you know everything about God. A daily dose of the Word of God will increase your faith.
Again, a daily quiet time drives away weariness, dejection and depression. The Word of God is like rain and snow that cools and refreshes. You will be blessed by the cooling and refreshing effect of a daily quiet time. As I go about my daily tasks, I often become weary and unhappy if I have not been able to have time with the Lord. I cannot explain it. You have to experience it for yourself. The refreshing and calming effect that a time in the presence of God produces, cannot be compared with anything.
18  Entertainment / Books / Wait your season on: October 25, 2014, 06:51:42 PM
“Wait for Your Season
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
All of God’s blessings have their season. Church growth has a season. Promotion has a season. Personal prosperity has a season.
A leader knows that the blessings he desires will not come overnight. He is prepared to stay at it until the breakthrough and promotion arrive. If you cannot wait for your God-given promotion, you are not a leader. I have had to wait many years for many things.
If you cannot wait for the mangoes on your tree to ripen, you are never going to enjoy them. You will always pluck them off before they arrive. Mind you, unripe mangoes are very different from ripe ones.
I know of a pastor who bought a very expensive car. For several months, he had to use the entire income of the church to pay off the debt. This caused ripples in the church. Funds were raised in a desperate attempt to pay for this expensive car. In the end “a blessing turned into a controversy.
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:1,11)
In his time, God makes all things beautiful. Are you a leader? “Then never forget that a leader is someone who is prepared to wait for his season.”

“A proud look is AN ATTITUDE that exudes arrogance."

The wicked, through THE PRIDE OF HIS COUNTENANCE, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Psalms 10:4

A person with a proud look has an attitude that you feel in all your communication to him. It is an attitude you would feel in every kind of interaction with this fellow.

For instance, you may send him a text but he would not respond even though he had seen it. You would send him an email but he would not reply even though he knew you were waiting for a reply. You would call him but he would not respond to your calls. Even if he did respond to your calls it would be so much later. You would get a sense that your communication to him was not important to him. A humble person would call back immediately and apologise for missing the call.

Watch out for people with a proud attitude. You can feel it through their texts and calls.”

20  Entertainment / Books / "Tell them" on: August 31, 2014, 10:32:24 AM

We have been commissioned to take the gospel to all the nations and peoples

"Some statistics tell us that there are over one thousand groups (tribes and races) of people, who have never heard the Gospel even once. It is also said that ninety-four per cent of ministers are preaching to nine per cent of the world's population.
What does this mean? It means that six per cent of all ministers are struggling with the remaining ninety-one per cent of the world's harvest! It is no wonder that religions like Islam are gaining grounds in large sections of the world.”

“Know about the Power of Habits and Develop Good Habits
A habit is something that you do without thinking about it or intending to do it. Every good leader has many good habits. These good habits are what has made him into what he is.
Two Habits of Jesus
1. Going to church regularly
Did you know that Jesus had good habits? The Bible teaches us that he had a habit of going to church on the Sabbath day.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. (Luke 4:16)
2. Going on prayer retreats
Jesus also had a habit of going to a particular garden for retreats. It was a place that he often went. And everyone knew his habit of praying in the garden. When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. (John 18:1,2)

SPIRITUAL POWERS
Dag Heward-Mills
READ: 2 Kings 3:21-4:1

For the preaching of the cross is...the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
The cross is the symbol of Christianity. The preaching of the cross is the preaching of sacrifice. It is also the preaching of power. As Christians, we should preach about the cross. We must be proud of the cross of Jesus Christ. It is the symbol of the church, and a symbol of obedience and sacrifice! The Bible tells us in the verse we read, that the preaching of Christ is foolishness to those that are perishing, but unto us, it is the power of God.
Sacrifices release spiritual power! This explains why many demonic rituals involve some kind of sacrifice of animals and sometimes of human beings. The king of Moab sacrificed his son when he saw that he was losing a battle with the Israelites. The sacrifice turned away the approaching armies. Power was released by sacrificing the king's son. This saved his life and saved the lives of his people. Learn this principle - sacrifice will always release power. Many pastors and leaders of churches are powerless because they make no sacrifices for the Lord and have no intention to.
Some years ago, the church in Switzerland was very powerful. They sent missionaries to Ghana, even though they could not speak Ghanaian languages.
If I were to send people to certain places for missionary work, there would be an outcry. This is why there is no power in our ministries. There is power when there is sacrifice!

GREED
Dag Heward-Mills
READ: 2 Kings 5:20-27
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver...
Ecclesiastes 5:10
A greedy person will often stretch out his hands to take something that does not belong to him. He is never satisfied with what he has.
Look at what happened to Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the Prophet. Due to his greed, Gehazi ended up with leprosy when Elisha cursed him and his seed forever, (2 Kings 5:27).
Perhaps he was next in line to become the most anointed man of God after Elisha. Greed destroyed his ministry and his entire life. The spirit of greed can cause you to waste your life away.
Some people look with greed at the things their superiors in business or ministry have. They look with greedy eyes at the cars and houses which their bosses have! Other people's greed goes even further than that. They do not only want what you have, but actually want to be you!
If you work with somebody, be content. Don't be greedy! You won't get to the top in a day. The only job that starts from the top is grave digging! My experience tells me that it is not easy to prosper in this life. It is a long road to the prosperity we all hope for. Impatience and greed will only destroy you.
The Bible says, "Beware of covetousness" (Luke 12:15). The prodigal boy was not satisfied with all his blessings, and so he stretched out his hand in the spirit of greed to take what was not yet his (Luke 15:12). Do you have the spirit of greed? Please, deliver yourself !
24  Entertainment / Books / Sweet influences of the Holy Spirit on: January 17, 2014, 08:35:50 PM
Stir up the sweet influences of the Holy Spirit by praying specifically for the Holy Spirit.

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:13)

One of the only things Jesus told us to pray for is the Holy Spirit.  You must pray for the Holy Spirit every day!  Do not think that you have enough of the Holy Spirit! Who can ever have enough of the Spirit of God?   Because the Holy Spirit has been given to us in a measure, there are always other measures that can be added to what you have.  Until you die and go out of this world, you will be receiving gifts and impartations of the Holy Spirit.  Each of those gifts is important for your calling.  The “good thing” and the “best thing” that Jesus has for you is the Holy Spirit.

You will notice the difference in the lives and ministries of those who pray for the Holy Spirit. The most anointed people often pray for the Holy Spirit.  It is when you understand and know the value of the Holy Spirit that you constantly pray for Him or His influence?  Kenneth Hagin spoke of how he prayed for the Holy Spirit for many years.  Perhaps your most important prayer topic is to pray for the Holy Spirit.  I love to pray for the spirit of wisdom, understanding, might, power and counsel.
25  Entertainment / Books / A reason to pray on: January 09, 2014, 02:25:00 PM
When you do not pray, your life in this world will be governed purely by the god or controller of this world.   In the Bible, Satan is called the god of this world.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

The god of this world is the ruler and governor of the events and circumstances in the world.  The god of this world, Satan, is therefore directing the affairs of this world.

When you do not pray, you do not call on God to intervene in the life you are leading on this earth.  Whether you like it or not, the life you have on this earth is affected by the head of state of your country.

In the same way, our lives on earth are greatly affected by the one who controls the kingdoms of the earth.  Almighty God expects you to invite Him to legally intervene in the events and circumstances of your life here.

If there is no intervention, things will go a certain way.  In the book of Ecclesiastes, there is a prediction that all those born in a certain kingdom will be poor.

For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor. (Ecclesiastes 4:14)

Indeed, all those born in certain parts of the world are usually poor.  Unless there is some special intervention, if you live in certain countries you will be poor.

Indeed, we all need the special intervention of the Lord because we are working and dwelling in a world ruled by a very wicked being.

How can you live in this world without calling on God to intervene and to step into your life under this terrible, wicked, fallen enemy of God? It is time to pray and commit yourself to God.

It is time to deliver yourself out of the patterns and stereotypes which Satan has prepared for those who live in this world.

27  Prayer / General Discussion / Marriage is forever on: September 18, 2013, 08:40:12 PM
Marriage is forever!

So true

"And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:5-6)

to help in preparation for marriage, you need adequate counselling. I suggest a book called "Model marriage"

28  Theology / Apologetics / Re: What makes one a real born again Christian on: September 17, 2013, 05:45:45 PM
The thief upon the cross did not have the opportunity to go through all that. All he could say was "Jesus, Remember me when you come in your kingdom!" (Luke 2:42). That was it for him! The Lord replied "today you will be with me in paradise." Being born again is a spiritual regeneration which in time to come yields outward and inner manifestations.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17). I will suggest a book entitled "Born Again"

FRUIT
Dag Heward-Mills
READ: 2 Corinthians 5:9-13
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it...
John 15:2
God has prepared an extra judgement for believers. The Bible talks about two different thrones of judgement. The White Throne will be the place of judgement for the world. Christians will be judged at a different seat called the Judgement Seat of Christ.
The White Throne is the supreme court of Heaven. This is where the decision to admit you or not to admit you into Heaven will be taken, but there is another judgement seat for believers. (Revelation20:11-13).
The Scriptures show us that there are books that have the records of everything we do. These books record our works. It is essential that your name be in the all-important Book of Life. In addition, other books will be opened which contain records of our works. The dead will be judged out of these books according to their works.
Believers are going to receive judgement for what they do in their bodies. We must work the works of Jesus. The things we treasure are going to lose value in the moment of death. Everything that has been gathered and accumulated will become a mountain of foolishness. Our accumulated perishables will witness against us in that day. They will speak to Heaven and declare, "He was faithless, he did not obey you, he did not believe, his heart was on the treasures of this world."
Dear friend only one thing follows you to Heaven-your good works (Revelation 14:13).

READ: Philippians 3:7-13
...for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
Philippians 3:7-8
Have you ever wondered why some people are so unconvincing? No one wants to hear what they have to say. Have you asked yourself why some pastors have very few members?
Think about Jesus. He constantly told people not to publicize the good things He had done for them. He never travelled more than two hundred miles from His hometown. He never preached on TV or on radio. He did not build any institutions to His memory! His picture was never on a billboard and He never owned a car. Yet, the whole world has gone after Him. Two thousand years have gone by and millions still believe in Him. Thousands are converted to Him daily and there are volunteers who are ready to die for Him today.
What is the reason for the long-lasting effect of His ministry? The answer is simple. The sacrifice! The sacrifice of His life on the cross was the most significant spiritual thing that Jesus did on earth. He preached, He taught and He healed the sick. However, the eternal fruit was borne when He gave up His life on the cross. What we need to learn here, is that obedience and sacrifice will bear more eternal fruit than anyother good works we will do. This one sacrifice for humankind has released so much power into the earth.
Many great men and women have left all to follow Jesus. Sacrifice always releases power. Sometimes even talking about the sacrifice releases the power.
