1  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Starving for a Friend? on: November 28, 2003, 04:29:15 PM
One thing that I learned was that some people are in your life for a reason, some for a season, and some for a lifetime. The best way to find long term friendship is to be able to differentiate between the three. The one that seems to never goes away, and is healthy not only for you but also for the other person no matter what, is usually lifetime, but can also sometimes be season. God sends people into our life to make a difference and to help us or them in a time of need. The first scripture after salvation that I learned was if you want friends first make yourself friendly. That does not mean for you to be a comfort mat for people to grab whenever they have a problem. If you are having problems making friends and keeping them, make sure you have learned to love yourself first, God does not want you to get used or use someone else for personal gain. God wants you to first be in relationship with him, then yourself, then others. Check and see if you are a needy person, always in need of something, whether it is help, or just in need to help someone else, either way an imbalance is not good and is an abomination unto God. I had to learn the hard way. Take time out and appreciate who you are and who God made you. Then when others are around you won't need to fit in. You are already in. There is nothing worst than seeing someone try to fit a watermelon into an apple. It just won't fit. But if the watermelon knows it is a watermelon and is excited and confident about being one then it won't have to fit in, because all the other fruit will admire its uniqueness. When this happens and no fruit is uncomfortable with who they are, or what they have then if the watermelon fall, the other fruit will gather around to help in anyway, and if the other fruit falls then the watermelon will do they same. One other thing that I would like to point out is that all fruit needs space to grow. I pray that this helps in any way. The bottom line is the best friend that you can have is you, and when you can be your own best friend, God will send you someone. It was after I learned to love me that one of my closest friends came into my life. Needless to say she prayed and told the Lord that He was great but she needed someone on earth too. He sent her me, but we realized that it wasn't one sided, I needed her as much as she needed me. Growing up was the same way. I have one friend that we have been friends since the 1st grade and havent' found a reason to argue or get on each others nerves. We have a comforting friendship, If no one else understands what we go through, we are there for each other, consoling and laughing, getting angry at situations then praying about them, or praying about them before they occur. This friendship requires no work, my other friendship does, she wasn't trusting when we met and it took about 4-5 years to fully gain her trust, we get on each others nerves all the time, but no without a shadow of a doubt that we can depend on each other. Well, let me stop babbling. I pray that when God sends you a true friend that you have a wonderfull time nurishing it as it nurishes you. May the Lord our God Bless you and Keep you. In the Name of Christ Jesus I pray.
2  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Woman Preachers on: November 28, 2003, 04:00:34 PM
How can one not believe that God calls women to preach. No one has a problem when the mother preaches in the home, nor does one argue the fact that most of their spiritual up bringing comes from the guidance of a woman. The Lord called me to preach after I got married. My husband is my covering as Christ is his. I didn't call myself, due to the fact that I was not brought up in a religious household but a spiritual one, to be honest with you I didn't know how people became preachers and never cared to asked. I came into greater understanding that not only will God call a woman, but he called me to preach. That in itself is more shocking than me being a woman. But none the less he called me. Now if anyone has a problem with that take it to the Lord in prayer and ask him to walk all us in His Perfect Truth.
3  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Mr. Right??? on: November 04, 2003, 04:33:03 PM
As a single mother in my early twenties, I ended up in a place I thought I would never be, never say never. I was broken hearted, wounded and confused about everything from love to myself. I remember feeling like I had been cursed, the love of my life decided that he would be better off enjoying his twenties and decided to break off our engagement, and forsook the fact that we were with child. Well, to make a long story short, after first child I rebound' with a married man, had permission from the divorcing wife but that is another post all together. Anywho, I ended moving to North Carolina, stayed with family briefly after having my second child and moved into a trailor park infested with drugs and roaches, and drunks that liked to fight in the morning, and lets not even forget that I was working graveyard shift at the chicken plant that was located about two and a half hours from where I lived. Anyway, after leaving my two babies with people I didn't know and finding out that one was a crack head and the other a alcoholic, I decided that maybe welfare wasn't so bad at least until I could find adequate childcare.
Well to get to the point I sat on the barn fabric printed sofa and asked God to forgive me for everything all the way back to childhood. Then I prayed this prayer, "Lord I have made so many mistakes in my life and I don't want to make any more bad choices. You know who you want me to marry, and you know everything about them as you do me. Lord please bring us together in your timing I pray. Lord what I am asking you is for you to choose for me. In Jesus' Name amen". Shortly after that prayer I noticed a guy across the street from me, and began to notice that when ever he came home I would be at peace, we met about two months later, but I didn't think he was interested so I started hanging with his friend, surely this had to be the one, he had a home, nice car and we could talk about anything. One day after accepting the fact the man I looked at like a brother stopped me from running home to change clothes when the friend called him and said that he would be over, and said "I know that you are not running home to change clothes for another man". "I said yes I am now move" while walking back to my trailor I thought to myself "I think he might like me" I told a girl that lived with me at the time what had happened and she said "girl are you just realizing that he likes you" UH! Duh!
Then the Lord did something: On my way to work, well actually while waiting for my ride I was standing outside and the guy that liked me was there and so was the one who lived across the street, he was holding my baby and offered to take them to the babysitter ( a good one this time). A few minutes later there was a light around me (it is night) and everyone seems far away. Then I heard the Lord say " This is the one you want and literally turned my head toward the guy that I like, then He turned my head toward the one that stayed across the street from me and said "This is who you need" Messed me up for the rest of the night. As soon as I got to work I called and asked him how did he feel about me and did he want to be in a relationship with me. He said he cared alot about me and that he did want for us to be together. Needless to say I found out that he had prayed a similar prayer around the same time that I did and the only reason why I had to move to that aweful place was because my husband was across the street. There is more to this story but I don't want to bore you.

I thank you all for praying for my family. My mother is back in the house and she blames it on the medication he is on. Considering he is taking medication that can alter your mood. But that is still no excuse. I cry for her! She is better than I am cause I would have jetted a long, long, long time ago when he wasn't on any medication.
5  Fellowship / Just For Women / My Earthly Father on: October 31, 2003, 04:43:56 PM
My earthly father has worked my nerves so that I am in some serious need for prayer. I have been praying all day long that I don't allow my heart to hardened toward him. I do not like him at all right now. I have tried and tried to look beyond his faults and see his need. My problem occured when my mother was diagnosed with heart disease and he just doesn't care, he is more concerned about his little boo boo's. He threw my mother out of the house because even though she caters to his every wimp decides that she doesn't do enough for him. This woman is a saint because I would have left his hateful behind years ago. I think I may be in the few number of people who prayed to God that my mother would leave him, and I started praying that as a child. He treats my mother like crap. I am married and a mother of three and if my husband even tried to go their with me Lord help us. My father is verbally abusive, as he once was and still maybe physically abusive. I don't like him. I better stop now before I just break down crying. Cry

I am glad to know that we can agree to disagree. I pray that as everyone go out to celebrate this event that you re-evaluate your motives and just for one moment in time ask your Heavenly Father, Savior, and Holy Spirit is this pleasing in their sight. What ever His response is for you is what is right for you. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord in that way that he has lead us too. May the Good Lord continue to walk us into all truth. For with all your getting (candy on this day) get understanding.

The first person to bring the message of the Good News that Jesus was risen, was a woman. And that is my final Answer.
8  Fellowship / Testimonies / Re:My long testimony on: October 31, 2003, 03:43:35 PM
You have an awesome testimony, I too thank God for seeing something in me that I didn't see in myself. I also thank God for saving us from ourselves. He truely does know our hearts, we didn't want to die we just wanted the pain to go away.
9  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Truth on: October 27, 2003, 09:54:14 AM
As I said before if this is your belief so be it. Every day is the Lords day and yes each day is to be celebrated as such. I don't believe in putting titles to day to be celebrated and as you said yourself this is a day that the Lord has made and everyday not just one day should be set aside for the fruits of the Spirit to be revealed. This is also a wicked world and there should be some distinction between saints and sinners. As far as not being in the Knowledge of God, let me say this, if you believe that everyday is the Lords then why would it need to be reclaimed. You are not making yourself clear to me. This statement lets me know that you don't believe in the Power of God if you believe it has or can be taken away by the devil. I am not arguing the case of everyday being the day that the Lord has made. I am saying that as Saints(Children of the Most High God) These events on any day should not be celebrated by us.
10  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Truth on: October 27, 2003, 06:26:57 AM
You are right who knows who invented the internet, and yes I do understand that everything is the Lords and the fullness thereof. I still believe that as Christians "We live in this world but are not of this world", being new creatures in Christ. In the bible Easter is automatically known as a pagan holiday not the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. If celebrating Holloween, Santa Claus, Harry Potter, Witchcraft, and anything else satanic makes you happy then go for what you know. Believe me I will not stand in your way. I am not going to argue with carnal minded christians. If what you believe in is true then so be it, we all have been given the gift of free will, but believe this for all those who know the truth and teach false doctrine will be held accountable.
STAND UP FOR THE GOSPEL, AND BRING DOWN EVERYTHING THAT EXALTS ITSELF ABOVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD!

Biblical History Interesting facts

Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But, do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible.

The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots. Indeed, Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

Here's why:

Eden was in Iraq -- Genesis 2:10-14

Adam and Eve were created in Iraq -- Genesis 2:7-8

Satan made his first recorded appearance in Iraq -- Genesis 3:1-6

Nimrod established Babylon and the Tower of Babel was built in Iraq -- Genesis 10: 8-9 7 and 11:1-4

The confusion of the languages took place in Iraq -- Genesis 11:5-11

Abraham came from a city in Iraq -- Genesis 11:31 and Acts 7:2-4

Isaac's bride came from Iraq -- Genesis 24:3-4 and 10

Jacob Spent 20 years in Iraq -- Genesis 27:42-45 and 31:38

The first world Empire was in Iraq -- Daniel 1:1-2 and 2:36-38

The greatest revival in history was in a city in Iraq -- Jonah 3

The events of the book of Esther took place in Iraq -- Esther

The book of Nahum was a prophecy against a city in Iraq -- Nahum

The book of Revelation has prophecies against Babylon, which was the old name for the nation of Iraq -- Revelation 17 and 18

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated with it than Iraq.

14  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Truth on: October 26, 2003, 02:19:32 PM
Every day is a day that the Lord has made and it should be honored and hailed as holy. The word of God also states that my people perish from lack of knowledge. As christians we should all be aware that our actions causes reactions and we can lead people astray by doing things that exalts itself above the knowledge of God. We will be held accountable one way or the other.I pray that every reader will "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness" I also pray that every reader will ask the Lord to walk them into all truth. I believe that Easter was never to be linked with the resurrection of Christ, nor the birth of Christ with santa. If we don't stand for the truth and teach our children to stand for what is Good, Pure and Holy they will fall for anything. Jesus has done too much for us not to live Holy for him. I believe that when you get saved, filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit and delivered from whatever, We are new creatures in Christ and old things are passed away and behold all things become new. If we still act and behave as the world what difference do we make in the world. We are to be set aside for Christ. I understand that growth is a process but it's time to get off of milk and get onto solid foods.
15  Fellowship / Testimonies / Re:Attempted suicide, then salvation on: October 24, 2003, 03:48:41 PM
I to attempted suicide, but I was in college first semester and spinning out of control. I had a so call friend tell me that if I wanted to die that I needed to stop walking around so the medicine could work. I stupidly laid down and began to hyper-ventilate. The dorm asst. and the campus police were called in by my suite mates. They called my parents and while lying in my dorm asst arms I heard my mother scream LORD JESUS, that hurt me more than anything. I told God at that time I didn't want to die, and He said "You won't, everything is going to be alright", even though I have been through some very rough and scary times in my life suicide was no longer an option. At the age of 34 I now know the reasoning behind all of the trials that I had to face. At the age of 26 The Lord called me to Preach. Go figure, I never knew how people ended up preaching. I thank God for your testimony. I too can relate.
