St Paul and a few others through the years also thought the end was right around the corner, despite Jesus' firm statement that only the Father knows. Paul suggested that people stop marrying, perhaps great advice considering the impending devastation of Jerusalem. But we have lives to live, children to raise and educate. I think we should celebrate our Christianity and improve our world, stewards as God intended us to be. Why call ourselves ChristiansUnite if we oppose it? I pray others will post encouragement here.

I'm not having much success in finding discussion of Christians making efforts to unite, or even anything much on suggestions, plans, or hopes. Can you point me to the best forum, or set one up? I think most of us, whatever our Church, have a sick feeling that virtue and morality in much of the world is sinking, despite some evangelical success, particularly in the Soviet Union, China, and Africa. Many of us dread the great block of communists, muslims, unions, educators, and entertainers that so aggressively seeks a universal government and is willing to cultivate chaos to achieve it. It seems obvious that only a united Christianity, with other peaceful and freedom-loving people, has much chance to prevent a steady trend of government takeover and consolidation of power by the those groups.

I very much appreciate your time and effort to help keep us informed. This certainly seems to me to be one of the most dangerous developments in the world today. Hopefully Christians can unite in actively praying for peace, and understanding, and compromise, but sadly it is difficult to imagine much further Christian unity. I am curious to learn what your hopes are. Perhaps Israel might accept endorsement by Turkey, or some other nation, of vessels subject to intermittent Israeli inspection. Wouldn't it be nice to see the UN do something useful, for a change, perhaps inspecting the ships at some location--Turkey, or on the high seas--maybe the US could help there--or on land in Gaza. Hopefully, most Christians will pray that all governments will fulfill their obligation to protect their law-abiding citizens, and control their evil-doers. I believe the US must do all it can to support Israel and oppose terrorism, anarchism, and universalism, or we will see a prompt and abrupt end to both freedom and Christianity.
