1  Entertainment / Music / Re: What are Your Music Parimeters? on: December 02, 2008, 10:35:37 PM
I personally listen to mostly Christian contemporary
I don't see anything wrong with any perticular kind of music though I do think that a person should pay attention to what kind of lyrics they listen to. I feel this way because I think that music can be very influencing to the way a person thinks and thus to how they act because of what they end up metitating on.
I wont condem anyone for listening to any kind of music but I would strongly sugst that it be something that lifts the name of the Lord and is biblicly  sound. I know that most secular music doesnt do anything but glorify some of the most unGodly behavior there is.

Just my humble opinion

9  Theology / Apologetics / Re: Story to defend the faith with! on: November 15, 2008, 07:21:47 PM
It is a very sad thing that this kind of thing happens, though, something that is good to keep in mind is that everytime someone does die for the faith ultimatly it is spread and/or made stronger. As examples we can look at the Apostles. All but John were martyred. The church grew dramaticly during and following this. Another example is clearly illustrated in the movie "End of the Spear." In this true story those five men died for the gospel's sake and through their sacrifice not to mention the sacrifice of the rest of their families a whole nation was saved. As Jesus stated in john 12.24  Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

This i not to say that it is an easy or wonderful thing for people to be martyred, but rather to say look on the bright side of it for we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. and ultimately God is in control  because He is sovereign.

A mangy looking guy who goes into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender says: "No way. I don't think you can pay for it. The guy says, "You're right. I don't have any money, but if I show you something you haven't seen before, will you give me a drink?" The bartender says, "Only if what you show me ain't risque." "Deal!" says the guy and reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a hamster. He puts the hamster on the bar and it runs to the end of the bar, climbs down the bar, runs across the room, up the piano, jumps on the key board and starts playing a tune. And the hamster is really good. The bartender says, "You're right. I've never seen anything like that before. That hamster is truly good on the piano."
The guy downs the drink and asks the bartender for another. "Money or another miracle, or else no drink", says the bartender. The guy reaches into his coat again and pulls out a frog. He puts the frog on the bar, and the frog starts to sing. He has a marvelous voice and great pitch. A fine singer. A stranger from the other end of the bar runs over to the guy and offers him $300 for the frog. The guy says, "It's a deal." He takes the three hundred and gives the stranger the frog. The stranger runs out of the bar. The bartender says to the guy, "Are you some kind of nut? You sold a singing frog for $300? It must have been worth millions. You must be crazy."
"Not so", says the guy. "The hamster is also a ventriloquist."
