1  Theology / General Theology / Adultery on: February 12, 2004, 09:11:55 AM
Jesus said even if we lust after someone else we are commiting adultery in our hearts.  With all (most) of the media today trying to slam "sex" down our throats, do you think any married couple has a realistic chance(given our sinful nature) of avoiding adultery?

just testing
3  Prayer / General Discussion / What do you think about this? on: August 06, 2003, 11:38:13 PM
Do you think a Pastor should make more than the poorest faithful tither in his congregation?
4  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:IT IS GOD'S WILL TO PROSPER YOU. on: August 06, 2003, 11:36:57 PM
I think MOST people get into financial difficulty because they confuse their want's with their needs.  No one needs a $45,000 suv and the $600/month payment that goes with it.  God promises to give the faithful servant everything he need's, not everything he wants.  We run ourselves so far into debt with our toy's, and our big house with 4 extra rooms we never use for anything practical, and then we can't afford it all, so we look up to heaven and say, how come this is happening to me.  Let's get real!!!  I don't feel sorry for those people, not at all, not one bit!

I agree, very good post.  Thank-you for the good teaching!

Hitch, seriously quit being a fault finder.  If you had intelligent responses based on biblical truth, and not scripture totally taken out of context, I would listen.  Just a bit of advice: Don't disagree with people just so it gives the impression of being more spiritual, I've seen it done alot, and it is fruitless.
7  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:I had a dream. on: August 03, 2003, 10:22:23 AM
My life is in Christ, and I too want to see people "converted", but it is by the spirit of God that people are born again.  Not by might, or by by power, but by His spirit, right.  It's that Spirit that I worship, because God is Spirit, and He looks for those who worship in spirit.  Paul laboured night and day to see people converted, but in the end it was Christ who was his first love.  I suggest reading Phillipians(whole book), and you will see what I mean.

Music, you hit the nail right on the head!!  I was both inspired, and encourged by your dream.  The Lord really reached out to you, man He loves us so much!!!  Keep running the race, and I will too, and we will see each other at the finish line.  God Bless you!!!!

Hitch, i appreciate your input, but I will spend my whole entire life hoping, and expecting His return,  My faith is in Jesus Himself, not what He does, or doesn't do.  We all ought to hope for His return, and honestly if you don't I would wonder about you.  I'm not saying this to be critical of you, but if it's not your greatest desire to be held in His arms, then that is something I would be concerned about if I was you.
10  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:I had a dream. on: July 29, 2003, 10:38:42 PM
Very soon to me, means in my life time.  I firmly believe this, first from what I read in His word, and second, from the visions, and dreams I have had.  I am 31 years old, and believe that I will be an old man when this happens, but I do believe that my feet will be walking this earth when our King comes.  This is of course a faith statement, and whether no one, or everyone shares this opinion, it is what I believe.  The bible say's that hoping for His return purifies us, and it is not only my hope, but my expectation that He will return soon.
11  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / I had a dream. on: July 29, 2003, 10:05:29 PM
About 7 years ago I had a dream.  In the dream I was cooking at a restaraunt, and all of a sudden I heard trumpets(very loud), and then the ground began to shake.  Everybody in the restaraunt ran outside and looked up.  The sky was a weird color, kinda blue/green.  What we saw was amazing!  Jesus in the air, arms stretched out, and millions, and millions of angels.  I then saw people on the streets, and sidewalks on their knees looking up, and crying uncontrolably, saying, "I can't believe this was true, I can't believe it was actually true".
Then I saw a large white house at the end of the street, and for some reason I knew I was supposed to go into it.  I ran to it, and went in and started to run up the staircase.  I got to the top, and there was a door, so I went through it, and on the other side there was another stair case.  When I ran up this one when I got to the top the door was smaller, and harder to get through.  The same happened when I got through, but each time the stairs got more rickety, and the door was getting almost too small to get through.  When I got to the end(for some reason I knew it was the last door),  It was too small to get through, but the real reason I never went through was because I was afraid of what was on the other side, even though I never knew.
About 3 years after I had that dream, I was at a bible study, and the discussion got around to talking about dreams, and dreams we have had.  This woman said about 3 years ago she had a dream, and it was the same as I had.  When she got to the point where she was at the last door, I blurted out "did you go through, what was on the other side".  She said she went through, and on the other side was a large marble terrace, and Jesus was standing there.  She went up to Him, and he hugged her, and then took one arm off of her, and pointed to His kingdom.  She said the stairs became harder and the doors smaller the closer you get to Jesus because it get's harder to give up the things that hold you back.  The doors became smaller because "we must decrease, while Christ increases".
About 4 years ago I was standing by a lake, and then everything went slow motion, almost like I was in a trance.  I was looking at the little ripples, and tiny waves on the lake, and then for a moment I was given the the understanding that every ripple and wave on this lake was not only created by God, but He was very aware of each one.  I could not keep this level of understanding with me after it was over, but before it was finished Jesus said to me, and I quote, "I will be back before the first wave reaches the last".  I don't know what this means, maybe a generation or something along those liness, but Hw will be back very soon.
12  Theology / General Theology / Re:Proverbs 18:16 on: July 24, 2003, 11:35:44 PM
I am assuming that you might think this piece of scripture is talking about bribery.  Generosity often softens peoples hearts.  An act of kindness may, and often has, opened the door to witness to people.
13  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Proof of scripture!!!! Praise the Lord!!! on: July 24, 2003, 11:23:49 PM
Pretty cool isn't it!  I have read of similar studies with similar results.
14  Prayer / Answered Prayer / Re:My Answered Prayers on: July 23, 2003, 08:01:55 AM
Bozz, that's great, I'm happy for you.  God's hand is really on you.  God Bless you.
15  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Proof of scripture!!!! Praise the Lord!!! on: July 22, 2003, 10:35:42 PM
Jesus fulfilled about 300 prophecies in the Bible. Peter Stone, in Science Speaks calculated the probability of one man fulfilling 48 prophecies to be 10 to the 157th power. To put this into a mathematical probability formula picture this: The electron is about as small an object as we can imagine. If we had a cubic inch of these electrons and tried to count them, it would take us (at 250 per minute) 19,000 times 19,000 times 19,000 years to count them. Now mark one of them, and thoroughly stir it into the whole mass. What chance does a blindfolded man have of finding the right electron? --- The same chance as one man of fulfilling 48 prophecies about Christ, without being the Son of God!
This is what that number, when literally written out would look like.
1 in 10,000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000,
000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000!
This is proof that the Bible is supernaturally inspired by God and that Jesus is the Messiah!
