1  Entertainment / Television / Retro T.V. on: August 29, 2006, 11:30:18 AM
I am so psyched about getting T.V. shows on DVD.

Remember the Battle for the Network Stars? That was when T.V. Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) were awesome and having your "favorite show" meant something.

What ever happened to TV shows? Did I wake up in the Twilight Zone? When did "reality shows" replace good family entertainment?

I think all my extra money is going into buying DVDs so that I have something decent to watch.

How about you? What are your favorite Retro Shows?

While I am just starting my DVD collection, I have tons of videos with my favorites on them, like The Bob Newhart Show, Eight is Enough, Facts of Life, Life Goes On, Welcome Back Kotter, Chico & the Man, Mork & Mindy and even Beauty and the Beast. I'm still looking for The Courtship of Eddie's Father, Mod Squad and a few others.

Kids Shows were fun and clean and not filled with Witchcraft & New Age. Though it was hokey, I loved Land of the Lost and Far Out Space Nuts.

Anyway, those that love retro TV are free to post their favorite shows or DVD wanted or for sale.

Blessings!

2  Fellowship / You name it!! / Religion or Relationship - All Christian? on: August 29, 2006, 11:12:16 AM
Many Christians talk about their "doctrine" based on their church affiliations rather than based on the Holy Bible.

I have found many "Christians" not faithful to Christ alone but to their own church denomination or traditions.

I find it hard to believe that those who truly love Christ and have a testimony in their hearts would lift up Luther, Westley, Joseph Smith and others as if they sacrificed their lives for these individuals. I find their loyalty misguided and sentimental, filled with hypocrasy and idol worship.

Does anyone just love Jesus out there? Does anyone just live by the Word of God and a relationship with Christ? Must their be "religion" to cloud a person's soul with doctrines of men?

Where are all the true believers? Does anyone just follow after Christ anymore?

While I enjoy my church fellowship they are NOT God. While I love good preaching and teaching, they are not Jesus, by any means.

Does it matter who founded their church? Do we really need church "manuals" telling us what the "rules" are to attend a specific congregation?

I don't think it was Jesus' intention to create 500 denominations and offshoots of the "born again" believer.

I am wondering, in these last days, who are the ones that follow the Lamb wherever He goes.

I think about all the people caught up in the own personal interpretations and "doctrines of men" and wonder if Jesus truly is their Savior and Lord, or if the doctrines of "churchianity" has been taken more seriously than the Doctrines of Jesus Christ, according to the Word of God.

I dare to believe God Almighty and trust Him alone and His Word to lead and guide my life. I trust the Spirit of God inside me to lead me into all the truth of the Word of God and to show me Jesus according to Scripture.

Am I alone? Does anyone just love Jesus anymore? Or is it really all about "church"?

According to the Bible, we cannot GO TO CHURCH, we ARE THE CHURCH.

For the Lord of Hosts writes the Word on the tablets of our hearts so that we might know Him and live our lives in separation and holiness unto Him. After all, it really IS ABOUT HIM, RIGHT?

When did it become all about us and our "preferences"?

Any help in understanding would be greatly appreciated.

Will the true Body of Christ please take a stand?
3  Theology / Debate / Re: Most Haunted on: August 29, 2006, 10:55:58 AM
My ministry partner and I watch it to see the fools playing with demons and acting like idiots.

Some episodes are pretty sad when you think about the gullible mediums who have no clue they are messing around with beings that want to kill, steal and destroy lives.

Oh well, it makes for good comedy.

Did you ever watch "The Most Scariest Places on Earth"?

Much of the same, except those idiots were being lead by a "spirit guide" medium that actually told them how to "cleanse" the "haunted house", with witchcraft spells.

I thought I was about to fall out on the floor laughing.

Use Satan to cast out Satan.

GOOD JOB!!

Gullible idiots are a hoot!
4  Theology / Apologetics / Re: More ministers say they have a direct line to God on: August 29, 2006, 10:45:19 AM
Amen both BEP and Linssue

I always cringe and turn the channel as soon as a preacher says "God told me..."  It does not matter how good the preaching was up to that point it is all wasted.  God's last telling was with Jesus and will not happen again until it is too late to do anything.

I know from experience that God reveals.  That God urges and leads.  And the day my pastor switches from being led by the Lord to talking to the Lord is the day I find another church.  Thank you Jesus though for continuing to lead my pastor Smiley

Sincerely
Brother Jerry

From what you are saying, you don't believe that God can talk to us or relate to us through Christ Jesus as His Children, which is just not Biblical. For we have access to the Father in Heaven by the Spirit of God. Those of us who are washed in the Blood of the Lamb can come boldly to the Throne of Grace.

I don't know about you but I talk to my Daddy in Heaven everyday and He talks back to me through the Holy Spirit that lives inside me.

I think attempting to have a "religion" verses a "relationship" is two different things.

I relate to my Father in Heaven and He relates to me. I know Him through the Word of God but also through the Holy Spirit and NOTHING can separate me from my relationship. Not even skeptics.

While I appreciate the calling and gifts of pastors to lead the sheep, this cannot take the place of having a one-on-one relationship with Christ and the Father in Heaven.

To say God cannot speak to men or to have relationship with them as intimately as your own earthly family goes against everything I've ever learned about God's Character and Nature.

God had relationship with men and women in the Old Testament before the Law, after the Law and certainly now in Grace and Mercy.

I just cannot believe that others are not willing to listen to the Lord. He desires to talk to us, perhaps you have to desire to listen. He DOES have a voice.
