16  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Unexpected storm comming our way on: February 04, 2006, 07:37:08 PM
Well I expected to wake up to power outage this morning but thankfully that has not happened and hopefully will not happen tonight. The winds have subsided just a bit but are still pretty strong. My neighborhood is quit a mess right now though because of huge tree branches all over the place. The only things that were knocked down around my house, was the gutter pipe that connects to the ground off the side of my house, a whole lot of really long and think tree branches (thanfully the forces werent all that bad enough to have those things come flying through any of my windows.) the trash can was knocked over and the canopee that covers the bbq grill was blown off. Other than that Im safe and sound and still have power here. But over all in the whole Western Washington area the coast is getting flooded by surf waves and they are not telling the folks down there to be prepared to any possible evacuations. The 520 water bridge got shut down because of the waves, 140,000 people lost power up and down all the counties surrounding the Puget Sound, The Casscades had a blizzard and another 18 (inches or feet cant remember which one) of snow. And so far one person was killed due to this storm. This woman got slammed by a huge tree. Other than all of that yes there's more mudslides and fallen tree's problems.

As Matt Hasselback said in one of his interviews today, "I dont think that they are being competative, I think that they are just being ignorant." (he was talking about a lot of the Steeler's fans, notice the word *a lot* that means *not all.*) hehehehehe!!!!

Well on the other hand most of us Hawks fans are being ignorant towards the Steelers fans too so its all part of the game. Dude you guys should see whats going on in the Sports section of Christianguitar.org forums. Once I posted up "Seahawks or Steelers" poll forum I didnt really get all that to many "nice" replies but then I got my Seahawks buddies to have my back lol. Now thats what I call "Christian trash talk" and its bad enough w/ out any kinda 3 to 4 lettered words lol.

Steve Smith says: "May the best team win." He's most likely mad enough right now that he's probably rooting for the Steelers. After all we did give him and Delhomme a REALLY bad titble. Cheesy

On the other hand I wonder if they gonna call this one The Super Bowl storm. Cuz over here all our storms are named after holidays cuz thats when they usually take place. The Innaguration Day Storm back in 93 was BAD! I remember that one, that thing was leveled to a category 3 hurricane and killed about like 5 people or something.
20  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Unexpected storm comming our way on: February 03, 2006, 04:58:58 PM
they been saying that in most area's of Washington (especially the coast and Puget Sound) they expect 60mph wind gusts. In my part of the neighborhood I only have to worry about 2 tree's that are planted in my neighbors back yard, I swear one of these crazy days they'll topple over or something. I expect the winds to be mucsh stronger where I live because the house is not too far from the view of the Puget Sound. I personally dont know how bad this is all going to be, but every news station has been saying that its gonna be bad enough for people to lose power and such. So they announce its gonna be a pretty bad one.

The Steelers are indeed a good team, I saw them murder the Broncos in the last game. They do have a lot of good players and all, but I also think that we have a pretty good chance of beating the Steelers, lol we sure did give "Mr." Steve Smith from the Panthers a bad name, after all I do believe that Steve Smith was considered to be "the best reciever" in the NFL. But thats just what I heard. But hey like I said, even if we dont win its not like half of Seattle is gonna committ suicide or something lol, what matters is that we have made it this far and we have a much more better chance at getting into the Super bowl next year. My hopes are high for the Seahawks though, I think that we have a good chance on Sunday.
22  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Unexpected storm comming our way on: February 03, 2006, 03:21:14 AM
I know w/ all the Super bowl hype going on right now and all that. But here in Seattle we've been facing just too much rain that caused more than just street flooding and is not causing a lot of massive mudslides which have already destroyed and are threatning a lot of neighborhoods. Now we got a nasty storm comming our way, we already survived one about 2 nights ago but this one they say is gonna be big. The weather guys have been saying that they expect winds to pack 60 mph which is quit big for Seattle. So I just wanted to put that up here just to keep all of us here in prayer, most of us living heavily wooded areas and we can see a lot of damage out of this storm thats comming our way.
23  Entertainment / Television / Re: What TV show are you watching. on: February 03, 2006, 03:10:09 AM

I'm not a basketball fan so it doesn't particularly bother me about the Sonics.  But I've been a 'Hawks fan since day one and really look forward to their dropping the Steelers.

Im actually quit the opposite, I been a Sonics fan since I was little. Football has kinda been like my 3rd sport, but now that Im actually getting the game (yeah Im a girl) Im actually likeing it. I havent seen much of the Hawks games this past season but that dont mean that I dont listen in on the reports and all that. We've been on the "losing streak" for too long and its awesome to hear that they've gone this far and for the first time too. About the Sonics situation, I still got my hopes high for those guys as well and would love to see them win the NBA championship some day too. But right now, Im going to watch the Super bowl at my church, we are planning to drown the Rickshaws bar (a.k.a. "thorn in the flesh") thats located right next door to my church. Lol yeah so I can't wait to scream LOUD and root for my team and all that.

Its so funny because when I saw the last game when we beat the Panthers, I was watching it w/ my Pastor's family at their home, its really funny to see an LA guy rooting for Seattle he's not even from here. But I asked him why he roots for Seattle and he said that LA does not even have a football team. So we were watching the last game and he was like, "Man we got FREAKS instead of fans" he's never heard such extreme shouting and all that at any kind of game like over here w/ the Seahawks. Oh not to mention (to any Panther fans please dont take this personal.) Have you seen the pictures in the last paper the day after we won the NFC championship game? There was one of Jake Delhome (sp?)  in the Sports page that was pretty hilarious.  Thought I might mention that.

Im a die hard Seattlite. Nobody messes w/ my city! therefore yeah Im a Hawks fan too. But either way if we dont win the super bowl trophy hey at least we FINALLY made it to the super bowl. Cheesy

The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History
by Thomas Woods ISBN#: 0895260476

An excellant book for those that want the truth about American history and an excellant addition to a childs learning of American history. From the Puritans through the drafting of the Constitution, the Civil War, the World Wars, the rise of the "Great Society" all the way up through the fiasco of the Clinton Administration.

With all the time I have had at the hospital recently I have had plenty of time to read it myself. I am more than half way through it and I am really impressed with the factual detail of the book.

That sounds like something Im interested in. Can you tell me a bit what its about?
29  Entertainment / Books / For all of you who have a strong passion for the Jewish people on: February 01, 2006, 05:06:48 PM
I found some of these to be very good and inspiring in their own ways: (One of them is by Jewish Rabbi so its not a Chrstian book.)

1.) Your People Shall Be My People (and your God my God) by: Don Finto
2.) Jesus and the Holocost (dont remember the authors name but plug the title into a search engine and you'll find it.)
3.) Jewish Spirituality (A Bried Introduction for Christians) by: Rabbi Lawrence Kershner (or Kushner, anyway one of them.)
30  Entertainment / Books / For those who love U.S. history on: February 01, 2006, 04:51:41 PM
I read a book called "Under God" by Michael Tait and Toby Mac, it has in so many ways inspired me A LOT and in other ways changed my spiritual walk w/ God. I went to Shoreline Community College here in Seattle and as a requirement had to take Multi-Cultural classes. The books they had me read in those classes, I swear would make more anti-Americans than bring out righteious and justified truth. When I was reading a lot of the stuff that I had to in those classes I was like "Geez!  you gonna keep preaching nothing but the negative stuff of this nation your gonna make a lot more anti-Americans." I remember in one of the books I had to read, portrayed Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson as nothing but blood-thirsty mongrols in which I dont know the truth to their private lives, but personally I had enough of reading of nothing but the negativity of this country. It all made me think "There must be some good things in this nations history that took place, what happened to all the God-fearing, Christ-loving events that made whole turning points in the shaping of this country?" So I found a book that really (in my opinion) not just point out the down sides of the United States history but also how God justfully dealt w/ those who opposed Him through slavery and in opposed him in other ways, such good examples are the issues like "separate but equil" situations and the battles for freedom from the revolutionary war to the civil war. And how God moved amongst those who fought for true freedom which is "We hold these TRUTHS to be self evident THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUIL" I personally found it to be a wonderful book, one that really inspired me and in so many ways is making me take a stand to make what is right as right and stand up against that belief that wrong is right. So far it has made me thing and pray about way, Christian ways that I can serve my country and most of all is now teaching ME how to LIVE under God myself.

Im not a daily devotional fan at all, I just never found daily devotionals to be as "devotional" to me. I mean I tried reading a lot of them and to me it was always like "Oh geez Im reading someone elses thoughts whoopty doo what am I getting out of this?" and Im not trying to put down what the people who have put together daily devotionals wrote about their personal, inspirering times w/ God or anything but for me it just something that I could never connect to and get deeper into. But right now I'm reading my FIRST daily devotional called "Living Under God" also by the same authors, this book can actually be read not as only a devotional but in many other ways as well, thats what I really like about it. Its very simple, so if your a Rick Warren or Richard J. Foster reader then this might not be for you, if you like more heavy deeper spritial stuff that is. Bur for me both the books "Under God" and "Living Under God" are truely chaning my spiritual walk w/ God for the better and I also do recomand them to others.
