All we can do, the only right thing to do is rest in faith.  God said it, I believe it.  Enough said.

17  Theology / General Theology / Psychics??? on: September 18, 2007, 10:28:55 AM
Dear Christian Soldiers,

Here's a question that has suddenly begun to bug me!

I've been giving thought to the number of "psychics" that are making a great deal of money from telling the living what the dead is thinking.

MY QUESTION:  Since "to be absent from the body is to be present in the Lord" (which is my belief)  ~ then who are these psychics talking to?  Since our spirit / soul goes straight to Jesus, then why would it hang out here to converse with the so-called 'living'

 Huh Opinions anyone?

18  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: Is divorce a no-no or a legitimate way out of certain bad situations? on: September 15, 2007, 01:48:15 PM
I'm recently recovering from three years of abuse (NO he didn't beat me! but emotional and mental anguish is sometimes even worse) There are a few brothers here (Tom and PR for sure) that know my testimony and history with my ex; by the end, they too, were encouraging me to get away from that volatile situation.  A divorce was sought after much prayer and soul searching..... I'll always rest sure knowing that I gave my marriage my best shot ~ before finally giving up, brushing the dust from my feet and moving on.

You have found a strong platform of comforters here Choc ~ I pray that you always seek Him first, get counsel from strong Christians and know that we'll always be here to listen and pray with you.

Your Friend and
Sister in Christ,

Cheesy jetaime! Sweet Sister, so glad to see you!! .... we've been fans of each other's blogs for some time ~ now we can get to know each other even better.... yippee!   Grin Although I've been away from the forums for awhile, I was an addict for about two years before things took me away..... I'm so glad to be back amongst good friends - both new and old (no offense PR Wink

Although I'll miss Sister Sheila and Brother Bronzesnake - such beautiful Christian souls are no doubt sharing their ministries where the Lord sees fit.

Watch for me!  I have a tendency to pop up just about anywhere and I've always loved it here at the CU Forums

So far my big red van is serving me perfectly!  I truly believe that the Lord blessed this vehicle.

Check this out:  A couple of months ago I decided to upgrade the lift that was already on the van, to make things easier on my care-giver.  However, I hadn't thought about how to get it installed! OhMyHeavens!  So as usual, I turned it over to God and waited ...... then just last week I was sharing fellowship with a young man I'd never met before ~ he just walked up and asked if he could pray with me..... and you know what?  He turned out to be a mechanic that specializes in wiring (stereos, alarms, etc.) ..... he's installing my new lift  today and I can pick up the van tomorrow.  The cost$0

PRAISE THE LORD!  GOD IS GOOD!  GOOD IS GOOD!  GOD'S BEEN SO GOOD TO ME!

~Blessings~

Hey BEPS!

You've always had a knack for hitting the nail on the head (pardon the expression)!   Grin    And putting the term "closed minded" the way you have in this post makes me sure that I want to be closed minded too.  Closed to the wrongs that creep their way into "normal society" (Gay marriage comes to thought) Closed minded to the evil that walks among us.

Please come Sweet Jesus!  Please come!

22  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, Greetings and Salutations! on: September 11, 2007, 03:28:25 PM
Hello, hello, hello again!  I'm so blessed to see familiar names and flattered by the newer brethen welcoming me back.

My life has been a rollercoaster but I'm back on track, at least for now!  Do we still hear from Sister Maria?  How about Bronzesnake, or Sister Sheila?  Anyone know what's going on with them?  I felt so close to them (as I did with everyone here) and now they're gone....

I will be posting more, but right now I must take care of my diabetes and EAT!!

Luv U

TalkerCat

PS to Sweet Peas: I'm still looking UP!!

Anyone here remember me? I've been gone a long long time.  I'd like to get back into the groove ..... am I still a member in good standing?  How is everyone?

Where is: Sister Maria?  Pastor Roger?  Blackeyed Peas?  Bronzesnake? Dreamweaver? Sister Sheila?  .....  Grin

24  Prayer / Answered Prayer / God Drives a Big Red Van on: March 06, 2007, 01:56:14 PM
Grin Hello Old Friends!   It's been many months since I've visited, but I'm sure there are still those of you that recall my testimony.

In May, 2006 I left an abusive marriage.  My CU friends all prayed for me and got me through the ugliness, for which I am extremely grateful.  Before I could file a petition for Dissolution Of Marriage, my husband took the ambulatory equipment I needed to be mobile.  This included an F150 equipped with a wheelchair lift, a ramp, a wheelchair, crutches, a walker, a quad-cane - you name it, I had it and he took it and sold it for profit.... leaving me without "legs".   My mother purchased a manual wheelchair for me and I counted my blessings, cut my losses and went on with a new life.

OK - now comes February 6, 2007 when we have some things to donate and a very nice couple comes to pick them up.  After some discussion, I wound up witnessing to them and giving them my testimony.  A few days passed, when one day a knock comes to the door - it was the nice couple.  With keys to a new van, equipped with a lift for my wheelchair, plus a new motorized scooter!  For Me!  "Take the keys, it's yours!" they said "compliments of the Lord!"

I cannot express how I felt at that moment.  Only that I knew I would have to become even bolder in praises for the Lord (as if I wasn't bold enough already!).

Yep!  God drives a big, red van and carries me wherever I go!

Blessings ~

Thanks Willow.  Thanks Everyone!  Talker was my constant companion and my inspiration.  She's the reason I started my website and it's a dedication to her.  I've had many pets in my life, but never a cat (amazing, isn't it?)  She was the first one and now I'm a cat-lover.

Blessings ~

Good Gosh, I'm having a hard time catching up!  The heat wave here has had me feeling like a limp rag and the power-outages don't help.  My computer is in the hottest room of the house ~ even the nights are 80 degrees..... I feel so badly for those that don't have a home.  They have to be so miserable.  At least I can get into a cold shower (burrrrr) for relief.  I've heard that some cities are opening "cooling centers" for people to go for A/C and refreshments.  Thank God.  People actually die when it gets this hot..... so hot that  I can barely drink my coffee . . . . . .  Cry

Blessings ~

Hi Everybody!  I thought I'd start here because it's a hot spot and I've been up and down so much since May.  I've tried to catch up on all the forums, but found my effort futile because so much time has passed since my last post ~  I figured it best to just start from square one (this being it).  I'm settled and happy in my new home and the divorce paperwork is filed.  No word from the "ex".... let's hope he keeps quiet.  I'll be restoring my maiden name effective with the final decree.  My given Christian name is Terri Annette Medina

I'm so blessed by the contact my brothers have made with me during my hiatus.  Thank you Sweetpeas and DeeDubya for your friendship and support.  I grieved with you BEPs when you sent 'Buster' over to the Rainbow Bridge and Sister Maria is also in my prayers that her health is better (or at least holding her own) and that she got moved into her new home without too much ado.

I've really missed being here and look forward to meeting all the newbies and getting started again.  In the meantime I've also come as a friend of Bronzesnake and ask that you all hold him up in special  prayer ~ he's finally relented to having the surgery that he's been postponing and really needs our support.

Blessings ~
