And I disagree with your comment to Symphony about "two thumbs down" for just turning the tv off. The less time we sit in front of that degenerative box the better.

Amen, and Amen.   Cool

In this dispensation of God's grace, God justifies ungodly sinners by His Grace upon the ground of the shed blood of Jesus Christ through the means of faith. This complete salvation is bestowed as a free gift of God apart from works. Salvation is given to those who simply believe the gospel by a free will decision. My Gospel Corinthians 15:3-4.

Gen 6:17-18

17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
KJV

Gen 9:15-17

15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
KJV

BigD responds:
The covenant that God made wit Noah after the flood was a covenant that was fulfilled.

The Old Covenant that God spake unto Moses is for the nation of Israel and yet to be fulfilled. Israel is set aside and there for that covenant is not in force.

Jesus was speaking of the New Covenant in Matthew 26 that will be with the nation of Israel and, as yet has not been fulfilled. It will be fulfilled when Jesus establishes His Kingdom here upon the earth. That will fulfill the prophesy of Jeremiah 31 that I mentioned earlier.

God Bless.

IS Matthew, Mark,  Luke  and John in the New Testament

Please give reason for your answer

BigD responds:
The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are a continuation of the Old Testament.

A "testament" is a "covenant."

In Matthew 26:27,28 Jesus spoke of the His blood of the new testament (covenant).

The first covenant was made with the nation of Israel, and God made a promise with Isreal if they would keep that covenant they would become  "a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation" (see Exodus 19:5,6).

We can also find reference to that covenant in Hebrews 8:7-13. Verse 8 speaks of the "new covenant" (testament) which was prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31-34. That "new covenant" (testament) is with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.

Being Israel has been set aside temporarily, that makes the old covenant (testament) uninforceable. The new covenant (testament) is still not in effect. Therefore, we find ourselves living in an unprophesied period (parenthetical) between the two covenants (testaments). It is know as "the dispensation of grace",  "the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began."

God Bless.
Live Well, Laugh Often and Love the Lord!

Amen BigD

Do you want that super-sized?  Grin

The punch line on this is too good not to pass this one on....be sure to read it all!

In the beginning, God covered the earth with broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach, with green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds. So Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then, using God's bountiful gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's, and Krispy Kreme.
And Satan said: "You want hot fudge with that?"
And Man said: "Yes!"
And Woman said: "I'll have one, too. with sprinkles."
And lo they gained 10 pounds.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane, and combined them.
And Woman went from size 2 to size 14.

So God said: "Try my fresh green garden salad."

And Satan presented crumbled Bleu Cheese dressing and garlic toast on the side.
And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.

And God then said: "I have sent you heart-healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them."

And Satan brought forth deep-fried coconut shrimp, butter-dipped lobster chunks, and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter.
And Man's cholesterol went through the roof.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with potassium and good nutrition.

Then Satan peeled off the healthful skin, sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them in animal
fats adding copious quantities of salt.
And Man packed on more pounds.

God then brought forth running shoes so that his children might lose those extra pounds.

And Satan introduced cable TV with remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels.
And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering light and started wearing stretchy Lycra jogging suits.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite.

And Satan created McDonald's and the 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then Satan said: "You want fries with that?"
And Man replied: "Yes! And super size 'em!"
And Satan said: " It is good."

And Man and Woman went into cardiac arrest.
God sighed...and created quadruple by-pass surgery.

And Satan chuckled and created HMOs.  Grin

Does anyone like Uriah Heep?

Here are two of my FAVORITE Songs

LOOK AT YOURSELF

I see you running
Don't know what
You're running from
Nobody's coming
What'd you do that was so wrong

Look back and turn back
Look at yourself
Don't be afraid, just
Look at yourself

If you need assistance
Or if all you need is love
There's no point in hiding
Tell me what you’re frightened of

You've got a friend, just
Look at yourself
Don't be afraid, just
Look at yourself

EASY LIVIN'

This is a thing I have
Never known before
It's called easy livin'
This is a place I've
Never seen before
And I've been forgiven

Easy livin’ and I've been forgiven
Since you've taken
Your place in my heart

Somewhere along the lonely road
I had tried to find you
Day after day on that windy road
I had walked behind you

Easy livin’ and I've been forgiven
Since you've taken
Your place in my heart

Waiting, watching
Wishing my whole life away
Dreaming, thinking
Ready for my happy day
And some easy livin'

Have you been guilty of looking at others your own age and
thinking ... surely I cannot look that old? You may enjoy this
short story.

While waiting for my first appointment in the reception room
of a new dentist, I noticed his certificate, which bore his full
name. Suddenly, I remembered that a tall, handsome boy with the
same name had been in my high school class some 30 years ago.
Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought.
This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way
too old to have been my classmate. After he had examined my teeth,
I asked him if he had attended the local high school. "Yes," he
replied. "When did you graduate?" I asked. He answered, "In 1971.
Why?" "You were in my class!" I exclaimed. He looked at me
closely, and then he asked, "What did you teach?" Grin Grin Grin

Why do you think that so many people buy into their teachings?

Not only do they go along with what these people are teaching, they will defend it like it was the Gospel.

Quote: Why do you think that so many people buy into their teachings?

I would say they are just like the roman religion and the world, if it feels good belive it.

Quote: Not only do they go along with what these people are teaching, they will defend it like it was the Gospel.

Just like roman catholics.
