1  Theology / Debate / Re:Why don't we call for the president to stop killing IRAQI babies? on: November 13, 2004, 09:27:02 PM
Since we are on the subject, why don't we call on Muslim Militants to stop killing Christian babies?

Next we will hear how much good Saddam's boys have done, and that they were the best thing since the Boy Scouts, and that the Muslim Extremists are not really Muslim. Lips Sealed

Don't these folks realize that they are either directly or indirectly supporting the likes of Saddam and Al Queda with these antics?

So what is being stated is that there is an excuse for Terrorism?  That Terrorism is legitimate?  The Church bombings in Iraq are cool?  What is it you are saying?

" I know this is a difficult time for my supporters, but I ask them, all of you, to join me in doing that. Now, more than ever, with our soldiers in harm's way, we must stand together and succeed in Iraq and win the war on terror."

I love it when the Crusades are overmentioned in history.  How small were the crusades compared to the Muslim conquests?  North Africa, Syria, Turkey, all the way up to Wester Iraq were Judeo/Christian before they became Muslim.  Do you think they converted to Islam out of pure curiosity?  If you think this, I am not the one posting ignorant replies.

And please do not rewrite the Bible.  The translation is "Do NOT MURDER"

Would Jesus approve.  Unknown.  But be advised that the wars mentioned in the Old Testament were for LAND.  Does this mean God was evil?

I am at an awkward situation regarding my Church right now.

It is what people would consider a small country Church, but it has changed in the last few months.  Instead of focusing on the Word, things have degenerated into a contest of status among a few members.  Unfortunately, these members have the full ear of the Pastor, and his family.

The importance of a member seems to be measured only by the value of their contribution every Sunday.  Prayer requests are swift when one of the big givers has a need, but for those that could barely make the tithe, prayer requests are rarely mentioned, if mentioned at all.  Phrases like "Suck it up" are used in their cases.

For me, things came to a head when our Holloween Carnival was drawing to its conclusion.  Three of the "upper echelon" adults basically ganged up on a teenaged girl from the poorer half of the congregation to a point where she cried so much, she could not speak fluently.

That same night, the girl's older sister showed up with her boyfriend, Bible in his hand, to introduce him to the Church. He desired to come to the Lord.  One of the three adults sent them away.

Come the following week, get this, the three adults were the "victims" in the Pastor's eyes, and he initiated an intervention of the poor girl's mother.  It was an ambush to put it nicely.  He invited her over to "talk".  Imagine her suprise when she showed up to the parsonage to be confronted by those three adults, the Pastor, and the Pastor's wife?!?

The Church lost three members that night, 7 if you count my family.  We are poor, so I guess it does not matter.

We will not shun the Lord, and are actively seeking out a new Church to worship at.

Any thoughts?

Actually, the direct translation was "Thou Shalt Not Commit Murder".  As demonstrated in the Books of Joshua, Judges, First and Second Maccabees, the Lord has permited war related killings, even to a grand scale.

There is also a big difference in accidental deaths, and the actual targeting of the innocent, as done by the enemy the opposition supports either directly, or indirectly.

It amazes me that those who cry out about the thousands of collateral deaths in this war also support the slaughter of millions of unborn children.
8  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Why did terrorists attack the U.S.? on: September 07, 2004, 08:14:08 PM
The United States of America was attacked because it is the most powerful Christian nation on earth.  The United States is the prime example of everything the Muslims hate.
9  Theology / Apologetics / Re:IS YOUR BIBLE THE RIGHT ONE? on: August 20, 2004, 06:52:46 PM
I do not excusively use the King James, and I do not feel any less Christian than those that do.  I each their own.
10  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Why aggressive atheism? on: August 20, 2004, 12:52:16 AM
It has been stated once that Satan's greatest achievement was convincing the world that he does not exist.  It would also further Satan's goal to convince the world that God does not exist.  Atheism is the true Satanic Religion.  Your little college friend is an instrument of the Devil, and should be avoided as such.
11  Theology / General Theology / Re:If A Christian Commits Suicide where does he/she go? on: August 02, 2004, 12:01:36 AM
I am sorry for your loss MsGuidedAngel  Cry

Now I have had inputs from both sides of this issue.  Many Pastors say it is an express way to damnation.  On the other hand, many Pastors also say that it is not.

The only reference I could find in the Bible was when King Saul committed suicide after displeasing the Lord by falling on his own sword.  But I was under the impression that the Lord still favored him, even if the Lord was replacing the king with David.   Huh

Thank you all for your interesting insights.   Grin
13  Theology / General Theology / Re:Does this apply to Christmas traditions? on: July 25, 2004, 09:35:04 PM
This is really tricky for us Christians, because the very origin of the date for Christmas was taken from a heathen religion.
14  Theology / General Theology / Re:Does This Matter? on: July 25, 2004, 09:16:28 AM
I thank you all for your advise once again.  Follow up question:

What makes you think the compilers of the KJV were any more accurate in 1611 using the TR than the other scholars, using even older manuscripts for their translations?

1 Cor 3:15

"15: If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
