I am actually sorry to see that this picture has been made. I have yet to see Jesus portrayed in a movie that I would consider a reasonable representation of what he may have looked like. The Bible gives us little description of His appearance and I think that is how we should leave it.

Isa 53:2   gives us the closet, “…he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. “

Paul says in 1Co 11:14  “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? “

And what movie have you seen that shows Jesus with short hair?

The picture you wish to post must already be somewhere on the web. If you do not have your own web space there are several services that offer this - some free. Get some space and then upload your picture.

Then click on the fourth button, second row, of the YABBC tags and place the link to your picture between those "IMG" tags.

In your post giving the Preface of your book you state:

If your response to various posts on this board against your position is any indication of your "fariness and gravity" to those that disagree with you, what may we expect in the book? I fear it will NOT be presenting both sides.

The strongest argument you could use to prove your mid-tribulation position would be to completely destroy the arguments FOR a pre-trib position. I do not think you have done this in your posts here. You have argued your position with great vigor but only have given cursory responses to those presenting scripture against.

I will say, however, that your posts have been courteous and polite.

Actually, I think the comma argument is a red herring. Christ was responding to the plea by the thief to remember him when He came into His kingdom.Christ replies, "Verily I say unto thee, today thou shalt be with me in paradise."

The word "today" is Strong's number 5494. It is often translated "this day." It implies a sense of immediacy.

Therefore, I believe there are only two ways to look at these two verses, Luke 23:42-43. 1 - Christ was saying that very day, the day they both died, the thief would be with Christ in Paradise, or 2 - when Christ came into His kingdom the thief would be with Christ in Paradise that very day.

As I believe that Christ spent the next 3 days and nights in the heart of the earth (the tomb) I therefor believe this second reading to be the correct one.

[And Jesus said to him Truly I say to you today you will be with Me in Paradise.]

The original Greek has no punctuation marks, so…

Luke 23:43  And Jesus said to him Truly I say to you today you will be with Me in Paradise.

Place the comma after the word “Today” and you have a different meaning. Your choice?

NIV is available for e-Sword. However, NIV is on a list of translations that the copyright holders demand a royalty payment before it can be used. There are a list of add-ons at e-Sword with the royalty payments required for each one. If I remember correctly, the royalty payment for NIV is $20. I might add that Rick Meyers gets zero of that $20, it's all royalty, and Rick has been trying to get them and others to let him use those pay add-ons for years.

One more thing about e-Sword – SUPPORT

When I first started using the program I had a question. I emailed Rick and he responded the same day. To my chagrin the answer was in the help file. Not only that, about a week later the same thing happened and again Rick politely answered me even though the answer was again in help. This is better support than any commercial program I have bought.

There are only two things missing from e-Sword that I feel I would like:
1.   The NIV translation.
2.   A way to create your own graphic file (.map) to add maps to pictures to the program. (Rick, are you listening?)

I have a good friend, a pastor, who uses the top-of-the-line Logos software. I showed him e-sword and he was greatly impressed. The one thing he liked much better about Logos was that he could do a more varied search; severeal words at one time within a verse range.  I think the Logos system is over $500.

I should add this about e-Sword:
The program is free but, if you like it and use it, Rick Meyers requests you send him $15 as a donation. The program is not limited in any way and never runs out. You don't have to send the money but it would seem it is the "christian" thing to do.
