1  Theology / General Theology / Re:HOW DO YOU USE YOUR TONGUE on: September 03, 2003, 03:03:50 PM
Apostolicista,
Can you point me to the Scripture that says that you are not saved unless you speak in tongues?
             Joy

I will show you where you need the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues.
Acts 2:4 and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them the utterance.
Acts 10: 44, 46 While Peter yet spake thesewords, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Also Mark 16: 16, 17 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved   : but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devil; they shall speak with new tongues:

2  Theology / General Theology / Re:How a person knows that God is there. The proof. on: September 03, 2003, 01:09:36 PM
I have proof everyday that God is with me. Every new day that I arise, he's with me. I feel his quicken power with in me. I speak to Him and He sometimes speaks to me. I know He's with me. I know that He is in me. There is no doubt in my mind that God/Jesus is in me. I can feel Him. When I recieved the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues that was my evidence that God was in me, when He spoke through me.

Mr5020,
If you have the true Holy Ghost you got it by speaking in tongues. The GIFT you are referring to is different from the tongues you speak to recieve the Holy Ghost and EVERYONE who say that they are saved should have spoken in tongues as like the day of Pentecost. You cannot be save without the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give the utterance and having the Baptism in Jesus' Name(Acts 4:12)

Praise Him,
I believe that we are chosen by God , it is then up to us to obey that calling that God has on us. Just a few Scriptures:
Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people: that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath callled you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you

so much more ....we are all predestinated
Peace Be Unto you,
