I am familiar with god tube and understand why and I finally did find them on godtube...I did not know you could convert files from youtube to godtube may have to check that out.  But did you get a chance to view the video's?  Really neat huh?  Strong powerful messages that to me are very memorable.  I have a 20,18, and 13 year old and they loved these video's.  What a powerful message especially to youth in the one.  I just think they are very inventive.

David that is a powerful testimony...I don't know why things happen the way they do and it often seems not right, but the Lord has the bigger plan.  My husband hurt his back a little over four years ago at work...a severe injury and he is never pain free ever!  I could go on and on about the things that have happened recently in my life...have I gotten depressed sure, do I still get depressed sure...I am human.  But I do know that things have happened for a reason...i honestly would have never seen me or my family going to church and becoming christians had my husband not got hurt.  Has it been hard?  Tremendously!  Will my husband ever be free of pain even with medication...probably not...he asks the Lord to heal him but that if that is not his will then make the pain bearable.  But I feel confident the Lord has a bigger plan for us, I am confident he will see us through all of this!!!  Bless you David and Bless you Blane and may the Lord touch each of you!

Oh absolutely I did not think anything you was saying was critical...I just wanted observations about the general website as a church website.  Alot of the church websites I look at seem to be very business like, I think maybe alot are using premade templates and that's fine.  What i was trying to figure out is first if the website was appealing...to all age groups.  And second should a church website look business like or reflect the spirit of the church, and if it should respect the spirit of the church was the website i created to over the top?  I wanted to reflect a site that was
fun, inviting, and non judgemental...just a good ole down to earth, welcome, and your all invited anytime kinda website...know what i mean?  Absolutely no offense taken I understand your position and respect that.

Hi Blane,

When you say doctors are you referring to your primary care doctor or a specialist...a neurologist i would think would be the one to assess treatment for trigeminal neuralgia.  As far as prayer goes it is my honest opinion that things happen to us in this life for us to grow, if nothing happened Blane would be a dull boy  Wink.  The Lord leads us on a journey to make us a good and faithful servant,  i believe.  Therefore, the pain or tickling may never leave.  I also believe the Lord allows things to happen to draw us closer to him.  For instance, my mom at 55 years old had had two heart valves replaced and one repaired from Rheumatic fever as a child.  If you know much about the heart you know you have only four.  She had to go on a blood thinner as you do when you have mechanical valves in your heart.  Still worked and worked like a man I might add...at Walmart in lawn and garden and then home in her flower beds, garden, house etc... just super active.  Well her blood kept getting thick then thin thick then thin.  One day she was out mulching in her flower beds and she had a stroke...i'm not talking a small stroke, I am talking a major stroke.  We did'nt think she was gonna make it.  They had to take part of her skull out to let her brain swell.  It has been a little over a year now and she has had a total of 10 surgeries in that year and looking at another to put a skull back in because her skull they finally put back in she rejected.  But two extraordinary things came from that Blane.  The first is that I know if my mom had died then she would not have gone to heaven, since she has started going back to church and after a leg surgery can walk some with a walker...she should be a vegetable to be honest, but the Lord gives blessings even in the worst storms.  I prayed at that time if i was not being to selfish i could have just a little more time with my mom.  I'm only 37 and she was 55 at the time how is that enough time to spend with my best friend.  She is a different person now in alot of ways I still lost alot of my mom but I still have her and she now has a chance to get to heaven.  I don't even want to think about the pain she has endured...it breaks my heart...sometimes i wonder if I was the selfish one but I know she would not have went to heaven.  The second thing that happened is that I learned and still sometimes struggle with the fact that I cannot depend on "SELF"!  I had for the first time in my life absolutely no control...none.  I gave it all to the Lord and he blessed me both through growing me into a better christian and also keeping my mom with me just a little longer and giving her the opportunity to enter the gates of heaven.  What has happened to her health wise will never 100% recover and yours may not as well, but there is always a reason, always!  And we are on this earth but just for a blink of a eye really...i'm 37 and it has flew by.  So just keep faith and pray for the Lord to heal you and also pray that if that is not his will that he leads you where he wants you and be open to that as well, and ask for relief if it is not his will for you to be healed.  All things happen for a reason, and it is all to glorify the Lord!

Democrats do seem to have the moral issues wrong...I signed as a democrat very young, one of those things that grandpa was a democrat, dad was a democrat, so daughter signed as democrat...from a financial standpoint i agree from a democratic perspective but morally from a republican...guess i should be as you are and put other.  My daughters boyfriend whom is our preachers son, served in iraq, and a overall great kid calls me a "demoncrat"...that's just wrong lol!  He's a completely different topic lol!

I think it is good to change your mind and listen to the voters and people of this country...just did not know where the switch came from.

as far as stem cell research goes i stand my ground exactly where you do...and the fact of the matter is more advances have come from adult stem cell research than any other.  Whether that be because of the legalities of embryonic stem cell research i am not sure.

I know the things going on in the middle east is prophesy...I have often wondered how we the USA plays into all this since we are not even mentioned in the bible.  Although i have read the left behind series, not sure how you feel on those, and although just a depiction of course they are set a large part in America.  Still baffles me how we play out in all this.

as far as healthcare goes I don't think that making one part of our government meet social demands makes us a socialist country on the verge of communism...what is social security, food stamps etc...  In fact alot of moral issues we believe in would be considered a social issue...abortion etc...  I work with a doctor that practiced in Canada who says that the hype that you have to wait a long time for surgeries etc... is not true, you may have to go to a different hospital etc... but you can get things done quickly.  I also worked with a nurse that worked in Canada as well and she had to have a gallbladder out and she did not have to wait but a few weeks...seeing how often times anymore that is a scheduled surgery after they get the gallbladder "cooled down" not a bad turnover time.  Doctors don't want it because god forbid they may not have three cars and two houses...they have to live within their means and still would live well.  As for family practice doctors they would probably make close to the same.  As far as the transportation goes those that don't have transportation have to rely on public transportation anyway.  I think it is absolutely absurd that you work all your life to get in a financial place where you can live after retirement and one bad blow and you could lose everything or you have to go to a nursing home and everything you own goes to them.  Or your young and one health crisis and there goes your home!   Noone should be penalized for getting old or sick...it's enevitalbe for us all.

10  Theology / Debate / Re: What is the right thing? on: September 09, 2008, 02:26:34 PM
lol funny how things work huh...you hear awful stories about how police officers go over the line...but look at what they are faced with day in and day out...then you hear your story and you see the other side to.  I know about the DT's having taken care of those types of patients, it really is a sad existence.  But it really is funny how things work in life and I am glad there are kind hearted loving people like you bep and your coworkers that look out for those people.  I think I might do as you suggested and get a coat and maybe mittens.  My dad is a big guy like this guy and he may have a old coat that I can have to give to him even...you don't have to spend money to love and give to someone.  I don't agree with his actions and I do think that he is paying for what he has done...but at the same time he is still a human being and maybe the kind things that people do for him despite what he has done will make him seek what it is in people that do that and help him find the Lord and if he has already as he says he has then maybe it will strenthen his faith.  Thanks for all the loving advice and help you have given me.  It really has helped me think this through...I love getting advice from other people then thinking things through...it helps me get it right often times.  God bless you both!

I took the time last night to sit and view each candidates acceptance speeches on you tube as I had not seen it and am a firm believer if you are gonna speak on a subject try to be educated on it...don't accept what your coworkers or family tells you.  Get your info. straight from the horses mouth as they would say!  Let me preface by saying Sarah Palin is impressive isn't she...a real feisty one lol!  Let me also say that John McCain gave a impressive speech as well.  I like the idea of holding teachers accountable and rewarding them according to how their students are academically achieving...not just the top 1/3 of the class but all students.  I had to giggle when he said they would help bad teachers find a different line of work, as i feel education in this country is horrific.  The no child left behind was a good concept but not a great plan.  I also had to giggle when he said he was gonna quit sending 700 million dollars to countries who don't like us very much...I think it was million the statement was so right on I never caught the exact amount...I just know it was a bunch.  I think the Democratic speeches paled in comparision to the republican's.  I am a registered Democrat but i always, always, always vote for who I think is the best person for the job.  Used to be able to say man for the job, but not so anymore huh lol.  Let me also say that I think that the middle class financially does better when a Democratic president is in office, however there is not a Democratic candidate to vote for in my opinion, and had McCain not found someone to run with I had no intentions of voting.

I however have some issues with McCain and I am gonna note a presidential election topics page that I looked at when I was deciding on who I thought would be the best candidate for president:
http://www.2decide.com/table.htm

If you look closely McCain was against drilling...not sure if that was the idea that long term drilling was not the one answer to our energy crisis or if he was just against it in general.  So if he was against it then why now when his running mate is for it is he all of a sudden for it?  We need to be self sufficient on energy and I think drilling is not the single answer although he noted many more resources, so why are we not using them NOW!

I also am not sure how you can possibly be against abortion but for embryonic stem cell research?  And let me tell you I think this race should from a christian perspective be about morality...if you look mostly at what is wrong with this world today MORALITY will smack you right in the face!  Although, I think the candidate should also be strong on healthcare issues, the iraq war etc...

The Iraq war well that opens up a huge can of worms huh?  We are there and I don't think we can just pack up and leave now...not only would it not be beneficial to the iraq people but very harmful to us as well.  Should we stay forever, of course not.  But it was noted that the iraq government has a surplus in their economy why ours is unbelievably in debt, to the point I don't want to even think about it.  And how long after we leave before things are volatile there again?

Finally for me healthcare, that's a biggie for me I work in the healthcare field and feel we should have some sort of a universal healthcare system...I think it is high time that the drug companies and insurance companies stop running this country!!!  We don't need Canada's healthcare, or England's etc...but one that fits us, because this one does not work!!!  If your young you may think it works fine now but wait until you get older and have to decide between eating or paying for your high cost medicines and medical bills!  And don't we owe some respect and honor to our elderly, it's high time we give them the respect they deserve and put their issues first to!   In the mix of healthcare you have to think about the increase in illegal immigrants raising healthcare costs and i am all for McCains idea of citizenship path for illegal immigrants...if you want to be here fine but pay the same taxes I do, same healthcare costs etc...that is the american dream  Grin!

overall I like the McCain/Palin ticket but the issues above concern me and it also concerns me that McCain has voted with Bush the majority of the time.  I just hope Palin would keep him in check  Grin.
12  Fellowship / Testimonies / Re: Grammyluv's Testimony on: September 09, 2008, 01:03:02 PM
You are right bep we all have things in our past that we are ashamed of.  In that post I guess I was referring more to myself than grammyluv, because it is hard to face the things in your life that have been hard, hurtful, and embarrassing, let alone tell others about it.  The strength the Lord has given those who testify in this way is tremendous.  Being a nurse I find her to be absolutely courageous and strong to have overcome what she has.  I have seen others battling the same things and it is a tough road.  The Lord has definately given her unmeasurable strength.  Grammyluv again you are insprition to alot of us...keep your chin high and your eyes on the Lord.

Thank you for looking at and commenting on my site bep.  I in no way expected a comment on the denomination...we are a southern baptist church and before I have gone to mostly full gospel church's.  But this is a very small church maybe 50 on Sunday tops and I really like that small country feel.  I have wanted to do this for awhile for the church and I hope they embrace the idea and the site grows...still alot to do, add pictures etc...  Thanks again for commenting, have a great day, and god bless.

Thank you bep for the concern of my safety...my husband has made it very clear that I am not to under any circumstances to approach anyone without him or someone else with me, even if it is in front of the courthouse and police station.  He is very protective, and had it not been for the fact that that is where the gentlemen sit I would never have thought of going back.  It was in broad daylight in front of the police station.  I guess because it is such a small town that was why it was so heartbreaking for me to see this man sitting there day after day...it just don't happen here that someone is so apparently homeless.  Not that there may not be other homeless people but it is not visible i guess.  There have been alot of valid points brought up on this thread that are making me think this through more thouroughly.  I am beginning to feel as though this man has been given opportunities and from things I have read has picked and chose which one's he would accept.  I read there is a homeless shelter for men, which I did not know about in our town...which brings up the question why not go there.  Then you have a address, then you can seek employment etc... and as I have said before I want to help people that not only helps themselves but turns around and gives back to others, and that does not have to be monetary but it is important to give back.  Like i said it is not commonplace here to see someone homeless and so I guess it really bothers me to see it, guess I am somewhat secluded from alot of things in this world living where I live, although things such as drugs and crime seem to be getting worse even here.  But I just know I am gonna drive by tomorrow on my way to work and when I see him I am still gonna feel bad for him...maybe that is what he wants everyone to feel and it works on my part.  I am really gonna pray about this and try to figure out if it is "self" leading me or the Lord.
15  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Why not Huckabee on: September 08, 2008, 07:18:39 PM
many other ways such as?  I did not read all your posts on her but what I read I like.  Lot of questions though...she definately does not have a ton of experience...but she sure seems to put the fire under corruption quick...honesty in a politician...you gotta love it!  Also she has a special needs child...that's a full time job in itself, i realize she will have a ton of help but still.  To be quite honest she may be the only one out of the bunch worth voting for, maybe we can write her in as president lol.
