Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ reprimanded the Pharisees in Matthew15:7-9 (Isaiah29:13; Mark 7:6-7) “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:   'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men." Matthew15:12 “Then the disciples came to him and asked, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?" Paul says in Galatians1:10-12 “Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.     I want you to know, brothers that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”

Nowadays, as you look upon the church, you would have to agree that there are so many preachers and teachers who are "as the Pharisees." They were never sent by God to do what they are doing. They display no authority and power in their preaching and teaching. They are simply copycats of some other preacher. The bought his books., studied his material and then presented it to the masses. They have no "fresh manna" from God. They base what they teach on the literature of men and even elevate the material of men above the Word of God.
Most teach what was taught to them by men and not God. Paul in Galatians1:12 says “I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.” And the question is where did you receive your revelation? From men or from Jesus Christ, the author and the perfector of our faith? Paul did not follow any other leader but Christ, his teaching was not approved by men but by God, he did not please men but God.  Today, a lot of preachers are followers of men.  They are following rules of men and not of God. They are offended when you do not follow their rules but God’s rules.  They are seeking after the glory. Through their rules they have appointed themselves keepers of the Word. So many today do not have that "witness" - the tokens of God's Presence on their lives - to prove that He did indeed sent them to do the work that they are doing. So many are running, yet God is not sending them.  They simply had the approval of man to start something, but they do not have the evidence of the power of God flowing through them unto others to show that God is indeed behind them.
 
Resultantly, what is happening today in our society is that many ministers are seeking for the "testimony," "witness," glory, praises, or approval of men. They lack the miraculous back-up of God so they have to convince the people to keep supporting them by using ambition and human applause as their evidence.

I greet you in the name of our wonderful Lord and Saviour, I see that my post was misunderstood I was not referring to God 's Plan of Salvation but the Will of God for you and me"the saved".I am referring to you and me here who are saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ,who are no longer under the bondage of the devil, who have been freed from the bondage of the flesh to sin. 
Though I partly agree with you that:

"NO man has ever lived on this earth that fits this description except Very GOD made manifest in the flesh - JESUS CHRIST." but I think you missed the point that I was making here.  In 1 Peter 4:2, the  Apostle Peter indicated how a true believer in Jesus Christ conducts himself in this world when he said - "That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God." All those who have "ceased from deliberate  sin" (1 Peter 4:1) live to the will of God. In other words, they live in such a manner as He commands. They understand that the object of their redemption was to rescue them from being swayed by wicked lusts and to bring them to being completely conformed to His will. They not only retain truth but live according to it. We are not to continue living the life of deliberately sinning or disobedience, that is we are not to be lawless./font]

4. It is one thing to deliberately and continuously sin and use the word of God to justify your sins/disobedience and another to to live by His grace which is sufficient when tempted to sin.  The Holy Spirit's works in our lives is very clear from the scriptures and should not be confused. 
5. Yes, there is a struggle of the flesh and the spirit, we daily deal with hence a need for us to completely surrender to God and die to self.

Ephesians 5:17 says - "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."  There are so many who are foolish and senseless when it comes to the will of God. They are ignorant of their duty and negligent of their souls. The Apostle Paul encourages the believers in Ephesus not to be fools in the employment of their time or in the manner of their life.

Just look around you today and count how many are living to the will of God rather than their own desires or lusts or someone else's. Sad but true - the number is very small.

  However, Peter made it very plain and clear that a true believer will no longer live "to the lusts of men, but to the will of God."

On two separate occasions, Paul mentioned "the will of God" when writing to the church at Colosse. In Colossians 1:9, he says "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding." In Colossians 4:12, he added - "Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God." In both cases, he referred to "the will of God" as a matter of serious prayer.
 
He personally prayed for the Colossian believers that they would "be filled with the knowledge of God's will." Notice the wording he used here - "do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will..." He never stopped praying for them that they would know fully what God would have them to do. He wanted them to have a full knowledge of their duty. The wording used here exhibits an earnestness, passion, and seriousness about the matter. 
 
He then went on to mention a fellow laborer - Epaphras - who he described as "always labouring fervently" for the saints that they would "stand perfect and complete in all the will of God." How many of us today pray such a prayer for ourselves and others? This servant of God felt it was imperative that the believers were fully assured and persuaded in their faith in that they performed all things willed by God. His desire was to see them full of LIGHT, GRACE, WISDOM, and HOLINESS. He yearned to see them completely performing the WILL of the Lord in every aspect of their lives. Perhaps, if more of us prayed like this today, we would not have to contend with so many phoney Christians in our churches and days.
 
What most people do not realize (or do not want to admit as true) is that God requires holiness of heart and life in all who profess to know Him as Lord and Savior. Some would ask - what is the will of God for my life? For one thing - it is that you cease to do evil and learn to do good. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Paul made it apparent when he said - "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication." What he is saying here is that it is the will of God for every Christian to abstain from associations which degrade the soul...to overcome tendencies to do evil...to check and subdue unholy habits...and to cultivate positive principles of holiness in our soul.
 
The Lord when He said - "For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother" (Matthew 12:50) and "For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is My brother, and My sister, and mother" (Mark 3:35). These are the ones who submit to Him in all decree.
 
In John 7:17, He said - "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself." In other words, if any man is willing to do or wishes to do God's will, he will have entrance into the "Light" of His instruction for his life.
 
In Matthew 7:21, He made it a matter of Heaven and Hell when He said - "Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven." The Apostle John shared the same sentiments when he wrote in 1 John 2:17 - "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." What they both are saying is that only those who love God - not this world or their own fleshly will - will make it to heaven. Many on the basis of a mere profession are claiming admittance into heaven but that is not true as the Word of God informs us that they will have to do God's will before they gain entrance.

All Christians must exercise faith in Jesus for life and salvation - commit themselves to Him...trust in Him at all times and for all things...rely on Him...and obey Him in the small and great things. Preachers must be faithful dispensers of the Word of God - fully and faithfully preaching the Gospel...declaring the whole counsel of God...keeping back nothing profitable to the souls of men...being not afraid of the faces of men...and speaking the truth boldly with all sincerity.

Along with the Apostle Paul and Epaphras, David made it a point of constant prayer. In Psalm 143:10, he prayed - "Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God..." He had a desire to do that which was agreeable or pleasing to God. Hence, he prayed not only for help in doing it but for greater instruction on how to always get it done. He understood that it was a lifetime learning process.

God recognized David as - "a man after Mine own heart, which shall fulfill all My will" (Acts 13:22). God bragged on him for seeking to do His will instead of showing stubborn disobedience like Saul. Unlike Saul, he obeyed the commands of God. He maintained the worship of God in Israel...sought to promote the universal obedience to God among the people...and ruled the people according to His Divine Will.

Remember - it's only those who do the will of God who make it to Heaven. "Not every one that saith” unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 12:50)

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I would like to thank the Lord for your prayers.  I posted a prayer request last week as I was in a dark pit.  I thank the Lord that although my trials has not been lifted one bitbut I have.  I am now more at peace and know that God is taking care of everything as He promised that "He will not leave me not forsake me" I know that He is not a man that He should lie and also I know that His word will never proceed out of His mouth and return without accomplishing what He has directed it to do.  His word tells me that I will not be ashamed nor be dismayed. I believe His report than the lies that the devil is presenting to me and want t thank you all for the messages of encouragement and your prayers.  Let the Glory be to our Lord Almighty, in Jesus Chrsit's name. Though I have not read the book myself and therefore, can not comment on it but the truth of the matter is that the Holy Spirit is awakening the Church of Christ all over the world on Worship.  I for one has been taught so much on Worship.. Below is a summary of the sermon note I delivered here in South Africa, Gauteng some three weeks ago (I hopeit is not too long):

Opening Scripture: Colossians1:15-17

“15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. 17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. 19For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, 20and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.”

What is Worship?
It is the highest form of prayer.  Psalm 149:6-9 teaches us that the praises of God is a sharp sword in our hands. The Word of God in Psalm22:3 continues to tell us that God lives in the praises of His people. 2Chronicles20 (example).  Praise and Worship gets to the heart of the Almighty God and creates a divine atmosphere for God to manifest Himself in all His Glory (Ephesians3:20-21) “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Glory to God in the church!
Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
Glory down all the generations!
Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!”  (The Message)






What does it mean to Worship the Lord and what happens when we worship Him?
It is when our spirit focus entirely on God and His goodness, our hearts lifts up in praise to the Lord, our souls is flooded with the spirit of the Lord’s presence. It is when we are telling God that we love Him above anyone and anything else.

It is during Worship that the Lord reveals His secrets and heart to you. As we Worship our hearts gets in tune with the heart of God. His desires become our desires, His Words become our words, His thoughts our thoughts, He totally consumes us with Himself. (Psalm 150).  Psalm98:1 continues to teach us that we should let our hearts be filled with a new song unto God, thanking, praising and adoring Him. When we worship we are being carried above our daily problems and worries because as we come before the Lord His majesty and power dims all of those problems and concerns.  As we bless the Lord we are being blessed.

Who is to Worship God?
Psalm 100:1 tells us that “all”.  It is God’s desire that all His creation can spend time and worship Him.

When are we to worship God?
Psalm100:2 In our daily walk How? With gladness

Why do we worship Him? Psalm100:3
BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS, BECAUSE OF what He has done for us. He is God – The Hebrew word for God is Elohim which means Creator, the Ruler of the universe, It means God rules over everything.  We worship Him because we know that He is in control. 

In Hebrew Lord is Yahweh which means Covenant Keeper, He keeps His promises. We worship Him because He made us and continues to form us, we worship Him because we know we are in good hands.  Because we know that He knows exactly what is good for us and He is making us into what He wants us to be. “and not we ourselves” because we know that we did not save ourselves, He provided the perfect sacrifice for our sins – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because we know we are under the watchful care of God.  Because we know that we are not our own but we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

How are we to worship Him? Psalm100:4

As we begin Worshiping and entering into communion with the Lord  we should have the spirit of gratitude.  As we praise Him, we should think of all the good things He has done for us and rejoice and give thanks. John4:24 “God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth”

Phillipians3:3 "For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh."

What does that mean to be the circumcision…
 
It means that you are devoted to the worship of God, making your boast in Jesus, having an utmost interest in Him and His Kingdom - while renouncing anything that has to do with the flesh or the confidence therein.
A man or a woman who understands that they are the "circumcision" will speak like this “Though I might also have confidence in the flesh..."(Philippians 3:4)I have no confidence in the flesh. He or she places no confidence in human honors or accomplishments, uncommon advantages, or special privileges.

The Psalmist said it this way, and we will not know lasting Peace until we can say the same - "For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me"(Psalm 44:6). His only ground for victory was Christ - His Wisdom directing...His Power strengthening, working and enabling...and His Promises securing success. All other reliances were renounced and cast aside. His "weapons of...warfare"(2 Corinthians 10:4) were not "carnal" - that which the people of the world used, relied on, or derived an advantage from. On the contrary, they were "mighty through God" - divinely powerful through the One Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

When David, the little Shepherd boy, went up against the Mighty Giant Goliath, his confidence was not in the flesh - though he may have had confidence therein. He boldly declared - "...I come to Thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, Whom thou hast defied"(1 Samuel 17:45).
 
Until we renounce all confidence in the flesh - Satan will "take you for a ride."  Until we walk in the revelation that you are the "circumcision" whereby our all in all is in Christ Jesus and He alone is the answer to our dilemma.  Until all boasting is to be found in Him who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Until our confidence is in the One who is “…is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (KJV) then the devil will “take you for a ride”.  As we worship our Father let us do so in truth and spirit.

[Choose the Fear of the Lord]

What do the Holy Scriptures tell us about Choices? Let's look at some verses to see what Daily Choices we should be making in our walk with the Lord.
 
1. Choose the Fear of the Lord
Proverbs 1:29 says - "For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD."
 
We live in the midst of a people who, generally speaking, hate the knowledge of God's Word or the light of Divine Truth because their deeds are evil. They are morally and intellectually depraved. They will not submit to the law of God. On the contrary, they cast it behind their backs and totally reject any concept of the Fear of the Lord or eternal judgment for their actions. 
 
As Christians, we choose to love God's Truth and adhere to its godly principles. It is our guide in every decision. We choose to live in the Fear of the Lord all the day long - recognizing that we shall give an account some day before a Holy God and Just Judge Who sees all and knows all and has no respect of persons.   
 
2. Choose the Will of God
 
Proverbs 3:31 says - "Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways."
 
The "oppressor" is the evildoer who lives among us. He is the man who worships success and power. He seeks to be rich and great and live in ease. As Christians, we "choose" none of his ways. In other words, we don't imitate him, follow his pattern, or do as he does. Our main goal in life is not to be rich and great, but to fulfill the will of God for our lives. We do not live for ease and pleasure, but for the Glory of God.
 
3. Choose Wisdom Rather than Gold
Proverbs 8:10 says - "Receive My instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold."
Proverbs 16:16 says - "How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!"
 
The right knowledge, instruction, and wisdom found in God's Holy Word is to be preferred before all the worldly wealth. As Christians, we understand the vanity and vexation of spirit that goes along with pursuing riches without the knowledge of God. Therefore, we choose to pursue a life of serious godliness. We choose a heavenly pursuit rather than an earthly. We choose the riches of God's grace and power found in His Word rather than the cheap thrills of this life - "silver" and "gold."  We make God's Wisdom our greatest treasure - for without it, we recognize that we would not be able to handle the wealth of this world properly.
 
4. Choose Obedience Rather than Rebellion   
John 3:36 says - "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
 
As Christians, we choose to walk in obedience to the Son of the Living God - the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe on Him, confide in Him, and consent to His Will. Resultantly, we enjoy life and life more abundantly. Our choice causes us to escape "the wrath of God" which comes upon all those who choose a life of disobedience and rebellion.
 
5. Choose to Hate Evil and Love Good
Amos 5:15 says - "Hate the evil, and love the good..."
 
As followers and imitators of Christ, we choose to "love the good." Therefore, we delight in good principles, good people, good conversation, good duties, good entertainment, etc. We hunger and thirst after righteousness. We strive to do good to all men.
 
And as much as we "love the good," we "hate the evil." We hate sin - "pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth.."(Proverbs 8:13). We "hate every false way"(Psalm 119:104). We hate everything that goes against the Truth of God's Word.
We hate everything that He hates and love everything that He loves.
 
This is our choice.
 
6. Choose Life and Blessing
Deuteronomy 30:19 says - "...I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed shall live."
 
Our choice to walk in obedience or disobedience to God has serious consequences. If we obey, we receive His blessings. On the other hand, if we choose to go our own way and walk contrary to Him, then He has no other choice than to walk contrary to us. That is when we come under the curse of the law. We reap the horrible curses of great sorrow, pain, destruction, death, and damnation.
 
7. Choose Jesus as Lord of All
Psalm 16:2 says - "O my soul, Thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord..."
Psalm 140:6 says - "I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God..."
 
We are no longer our own. We have been bought with the price of the Precious Blood of the Lamb of God. Therefore, we choose to acknowledge the Lord Jesus as the Rightful Ruler of our lives. We choose Him as - our Sovereign God...only refuge from danger and peril... only hope in a hopeless world... defense, shield, and protector from all harm and evil...and the strength of our salvation. Without Him, we fully understand that we can do nothing but fail. Acts 17:28 confirms this fact - "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being..."
 
8. Choose the Way of Truth
 
Psalm 119:30 says - "I have chosen the way of truth..."
 
In a world of great deception, falsities, and unreal game playing, we choose to - live lives that are honest and sincere...always tell the truth, no matter what the cost...be honest in all of our dealings and relationships with men...keep our word...and hide nothing and have nothing to hide.
 
9. Choose to Serve God as a Family
Joshua 24:15 says - "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
 
First of all, we have come to the conclusion that there is no other God before the Lord Jesus. Therefore, we - renounce every idol that is in the land and wholeheartedly serve Him...constantly watch over our hearts, lest any rival should dare to steal our affections from Him...have a made-up mind that we will serve the Lord. No matter what others do or no matter who likes it...what names we are termed...or what losses we suffer as a result of our stand for Christ - we will serve the Lord. It is our serious and deliberate choice!
 
But we are not satisfied to serve Him alone. We resolve to have our entire family serve this One Who has been so good to us. He brought us out of great bondage to Sin and Satan. Consequently, we desire to honor Him with household salvation as His reward.
 
10. Choose Suffering Rather than Sin
Hebrews 11: 24-26 says - "By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt..."
 
Moses had brilliant prospects ahead of him. He had the opportunity to enjoy a life of wealth, fame, ease, pleasure, gaiety, and sin. Nonetheless,  he rejected this opulent lifestyle, and chose to sacrifice all of these worldly pleasures to identify with his own people who were oppressed and downtrodden. He knew the serious consequences of his choice. He would face possible danger, want, and great trials if he gave up Pharaoh's court. Rather than sin with the heathen, he turned his back on the wealth of Egypt to fulfill the Call of God on his life to be Israel's Deliverer from slavery.
 
How about you, O Christian?
Have you -
...made the choice to suffer affliction and persecution on the job rather than compromise your holy standards? 
...chosen to go without that relationship or friendship rather than lose out with God?
...chosen to live beneath your means rather than cheat, steal, and lie to get ahead?
 
Whether we realize it or not - we are faced with serious choices every moment of the day. Which choices will you make today? May the greatest one be to serve the Lord Jesus in every detail of your life no matter the cost or the loss. Remember - the choices you make today will determine your destiny for tomorrow. They will ultimately determine where you will spend eternity.
And that's serious business!

Thank you for your reply.  Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ in His teachings indicated throughout the gospel the importance of renouncing self.  I am of the believe that unless one is ready to die to self then one can not be a christlike disciple. Paul says for Him to live is Christ to die is gain which is what I believe should be our attitude as well.  To die to self (to allow the flesh to die) and allow Jesus Christ to rise through the Holy Spirit. A lot of us are finding it difficult to be obedient because though we claim to be Christians, we are still living in the flesh and the flesh is the sphere of the devil. 

Deuteronomy 18:10-12
(10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee." In Leviticus 20:6, God likens spiritism to prostitution, the physical counterpart to spiritual prostitution, idolatry. To God, witchcraft and occultism are similar to sexual immorality, but one is physical and the other is spiritual. Both defile the purity God desires in our flesh and in our spirit (II Corinthians 7:1).  When a Christian meddles in spiritism, whether it is witchcraft, sorcery, divination, consulting a medium or fortune-teller, or even reading a horoscope, he undermines his relationship with God, in the same way that a man who visits a prostitute damages his relationship with his wife. There is a covenant between God and Christian and the consultation of spiritism or practice of witchcraft and idolatry causes division between God and a Christian as someone else is coming between the two covenanted parties. Occultism puts a wedge between God and the Christian. It drives a Christian away from God.

The anointed ones of Israel,  I greet you all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.  I am new here and you will forgive me if I make mistakes.  The question that I would like to ask is Is it possible to be a true Christian with self renouncement.
