Lilpilgrim -

I don't have a V-chip but have done some research since starting this thread.  Have you heard of Tivo Kidzone or SkyAngel?

I heard about that and it's mortifying!

Did you hear about the newest "leak" with AOL?

Apparently, they published all kinds of "search results" by members but made the member anonymous with a random number.  Well people put all kinds of stuff in search engines....like social security numbers and the like.  Don't know much but heard it on Drudge Report.

Another AOL gaffe......

4  Entertainment / Computer Hardware and Software / What about Television Filtering? on: August 09, 2006, 06:59:15 PM
I noticed a post talking about a new radio chip.  What about television?

Are there any options out there (besides turning off the tv or throwing it away) that can filter out the stuff that's on tv these days?  I try to research shows but there are just so many of them out there.

Advice?

Best,

M.L.

Welcome - Chris.

I just joined (signed-up) but this really seems to be a nice community.

Oh - o.k.

I'm going to have to get used to the terminology.

That's okay, I guess "thread hi-jacking" is not a bad thing amongst a dynamic community like this one.

Best to you all,

M.L.

Ridiculous!

So what do parents have these days to help control what their children are exposed to?

Are they going to next outlaw the V-chip, TiVo and the like?HuhHuh

We need to start a revolution here!

I'm mad now.

WOW!

Thank you all.  I'm excited to be here.  Thanks for the response.

This may be a stupid question, but what is "Thread-Jacking?"

I just responded to the "Most Haunted" post by a fellow member.  Television is a powerful tool for corruption (either spiritually or otherwise).  My son is always trying to watch that junk.

I would get behind any politician or public figure (and I know some have) that would stand up to this sewage on our airwaves.  I know we have options to filter but I mean come on......how do you know what to filter and what not?

Anyway,

M.L.

My son is always trying to watch those shows.  I know that people are allowed to watch whatever they want but that kind of stuff is ridiculous.  I remember when I was little, I used to try and stay up late to watch scary movies and always wind up traumatized for days.

The television is a powerful outlet for corruption (spiritual and otherwise)....

13  Welcome / About You! / Hi from Phoenix! on: July 31, 2006, 04:46:47 PM
New to the board but excited to get started.  I'm Mary Lanza from Phoenix, AZ.  I'm a stay at home mom with one wonderful child, Jeff.  Thinking of volunteering my time on a political campaign this time out, try to make a difference and put my time behind my views.....

Hi to all!
