1  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Intern fired for sharing faith on: February 23, 2006, 11:12:05 AM
Shocked
The trials & tribulations Christians go through now-a-days are different from those of the early Church, but they may not be much if any less severe. Sad
2  Theology / General Theology / Re: The American Movement on: February 14, 2006, 10:49:53 AM
A Christian band named A.D. called it "Backward Progress".

One of the saddest things is it's happening with some Christians too.

Used to, if I or someone else was not at church like we normally were, a person would take it upon themself to call & make sure the absent person did not need anything & say they were missed & would be prayed for.

This hasn't happened to me nor in my sight or to my knowledge IN YEARS. Cry
3  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: Where Are The Christian Women? on: February 11, 2006, 09:09:10 AM

4  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello to all the newcomers!!! on: February 06, 2006, 09:07:46 AM
Cheesy THANKS for the big welcome.

Huh How, if can, do you insert images into your own post?
5  Entertainment / Books / Re: To Read or not to read? (yes, it's a lame title. ^^;) on: February 06, 2006, 08:55:24 AM
Some of Heinlein's EARLY books if findable, are good AND fairly clean.

I like "Door Into Summer".

Also one idea to keep reading but not the bad words:

If it is YOUR book, consider marking through bad words with a black colored pencil.
Then when you see the marked through read it as a bleep if at all.
6  Entertainment / Books / Re: Francine Rivers on: February 06, 2006, 08:41:41 AM
I also like Francine Rivers' "Mark of the Lion" series.

The first 2 even have some Biblical/factual basis.

These can even be read while riding in a vehicle without get car-sick.

These have enough detail that I can reread them fairly frequently without remembering everything.

ALSO: if you like drama, murder, mystery books -- try Terri Blackstocks "NewPointe911"
Christian 5 book series (some even have romance mixed into the picture).
These I can also read while riding in a car without getting car-sick.
7  Fellowship / You name it!! / Bible Delving & Dwelling on: February 04, 2006, 10:50:22 AM
Huh PLEASE, anybody able & willing to join me; my Bible partner hasn't been joining me at time they designated.    Cry

You could pick a time {any except 9:30-9:50am & after 10pm (EST)}.
I have been following a topic for 1 week then changing topics unless asked to do otherwise.  You'd also have freedom of choosing some topics.

If interested: post here (including time to meet) &/or meet @ www.christianforums.com/index.php under "Christians Only" section, under "Theology", in "Expostion and Bible Study", in "Bible Delving & Dwelling".
8  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Unexpected storm comming our way on: February 03, 2006, 08:41:02 AM
I am & will be praying. Roll Eyes (looking to our Protector)

Shocked If you live in a low-lying or heavily-treed area, you may want to stay at a friends or in a hotel or something though.
9  Theology / Bible Study / Re: The meaning of Hebrews 10:26? on: February 02, 2006, 10:50:52 AM
Following are definitions of "willingly" for this verse

voluntarily, willingly, of one's own accord
to sin wilfully as opposed to sins committed inconsiderately, and from ignorance or from weakness

( from The NAS Strong's Version Strong's Number: 1596, Original Word = ekousioß  @ http://bible.crosswalk.com/Lexicons/Greek/grk.cgi?number=1596&version=nas )
