1  Prayer / General Discussion / Honest Questions! on: December 15, 2005, 03:50:39 PM
Before you read my questions please realize that it is honest, and therefore reply with honesty. thats all i ask...and before you go nuts delting this thread, or "editing" it, step back and think if you felt offended because i really did offend you or simply because you felt convicted.

QUESTION:

If Jesus is the reason for the season Why do Christians lie to their children about santa claus, on the exact same day they are suppose to be celebrating the birth of their savior? did Jesus die so christians can make up lies about Santa claus ?

Isnt it sinning against God and all what He represents, to lie to children ...that are pure and innocent? and by lying to children about Santa claus are christina parenst the ones that first teach their children how to lie ?

Thank you

4  Theology / Debate / The 6/6/06 Coincidence ? on: August 17, 2005, 12:41:00 PM
I’m sure almost all of you have heard of the 6/6/06 theory about the coming of the Antichrist. But is it really just a silly theory, an amazing coincidence?

Or is the Revelation Book telling us more than we want to see?

I dont understand why you need a degree to do God's work ?

Your accountability is to GOD, not degrees on a frame... maybe the reason why you dont have money to go forward is the way God has to show you that you dont need those papers... The Apostles didnt need degrees..., right ?
6  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Having Children...Feeling guilty about it. on: July 21, 2005, 10:03:10 PM
Lately, its bothered me more then usual. I'm really tired of some friends & even family members making me feel guilty about not wanting to have children. I am tired of the "you'll regret it" remarks or do it now before your too old, blah blah. Just seems like the pressure it on and I even had a so-called Christian tell me that God "Wants" me to have children that we all (Women) need to have a child to pretty much make the Lord pleased. I'm 26 years old. My husband is older then I and I often wonder about that as well. He is 42 years old. Am I wrong to say I just don't see children in my life at this point or in the next few months lets say. I know that I would make a lousy Mum right now. I like my freedom. Actually, I LOVE my freedom to be without children. Please don't get me wrong. I ADORE kids! I love being around them, but I just have absolutely no desire. I'm wondering what I should say to these people or what? Just have really gotten to me.  Huh

I ma 29, my husband is 49 and i dont want children at this moment either. Children should come when both in the couple is ready... Having children to make your family happy is the wrong reason...Whenever you feel ready thats the moment... your family should support you not pressure you...
7  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Modest Clothing on: July 19, 2005, 03:45:29 PM

well...im not sure what MODEST is ...but i know what ITS NOT..

take a look at the TBN TV show...thats NOT Modest, and neither is the Lakewood church... NOT MODEST DRESSERS, on the opposite...flashy, vain and loaded with make-up.

if you do the opposite of them...you'll be just fine...lol  Wink
8  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Submitting to Husbands on: July 19, 2005, 03:43:14 PM
The submission discussion always causes trouble...

God ment submit to authority if they are taking the right decision..

Lets see if a husband decides to go out and cheet is eyes out, should a wife submit? NO... therefore submission is paralleled with the kind of decisions that are taken.
9  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:some advice please on: July 19, 2005, 03:37:35 PM
Hi there
I am new to this site and I think that it is a blessing that I found it.I have been going through alot over the 3.5 years that I've been married. I have been through physical and emotional abuse and have left home 4 times.

My husband professes to be saved but I have my doubts. He still swears at me although the physical abuse has stopped.
Please give some advice.

To be honest if he professes to be saved, and treats you like that, he is both lying to you and God...
Im not sure if its worth it staying with a man like that...i think you'll have to look in your heart and see if he is really who you need. Did he treat you like that before the marriage or did it start only after ?

If he treated you like that before the marriage, than you made a big mistake marrying him... if it only started afterwards than he lied to you and you have a good reason to leave.

But its finally up to you if you want to keep putting up with that, and keep forgiving him as things go around in a circle...
