YES! It has been done! I joined into a local church. It's called Majakka-seurakunta. www.majakka.fiWhat is Majakka then? Majakka is Evangelical Free Church, and we are in close collaboration with both Pentecostal and Lutheran church. Also missionary work is important, majakka has 2 people in Logos II-ship ( http://www.mvlogos2.org/) and Tibet is in our Vision too. 3 praise cd's has already been released by Majakka also. I hope I can serve in the music-area, I remember the very first time i went there and i saw the mixing-desk... Ooooer I thought 'I wanna be behind that someday!!' And just guess! I will! The man at the mixing desk is too busy for the job and he has asked for assistance... I asked about it and you can guess the rest Lol I'm happy!

Theology / Apologetics / Re:What to say?

Thank you very much for your help. I liked this very much: We can say "That's a good proposition but let me ask you a question: can you live a life without EVER doing anything bad? You may be striving to live a good life but we know that no one is perfect. At some moment down the road you are going to do something bad. You may say, "Well, I'm not like a rapist or a serial killer." That may be true, but regardless, you still have disobeyed God and you are accountable for every single action throughout your entire life. The truth is, you can't live a good perfect life even if you try.
You say, 'I just don't understand what makes christianity better than living ordinary, good life.' Think for a second: you are born on earth but you know for sure you are going to die. It's the one thing in our life that we know is inevitable. Is there really a purpose for being famous, rich, reputable here on earth when you know that you will lose it? You live a life without purpose. You were meant to live a life with purpose; a life with God. Christianity is not about having a set of rules you must follow; its about having a relationship with God! This is why Christianity is better than living an ordinary, good life. Also I am only now really starting my new life so it's not a surprise i don't really know what to answer to different questions. But I will know someday!

Theology / Apologetics / What to say?

..to people who say that
'I just don't understand what makes christianity better than living ordinary, good life so that you don't hurt anybody and you try to do as much good as you can.' 'I can't believe that i will go to hell. That makes God evil if he's gonna put me into hell.'
I have many friends who say that to me and I really cannot explain it the way THEY could understand. I mean, reading Bible verses to them isn't gonna help. :/

Theology / Bible Study / Please explain me this (Matt.9:14)
|

Blessings to you brothers and sisters. I stumbled across an event in NT which baffles me. Matt.9:14Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?Ok, that clearly says to me that the people who came to Jesus were disciples of John, right? Mark 2:18And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: And they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciplines fast not?I am not so sure about who came to Jesus anymore. It looks to me that here on Mark that the people who came to Jesus were NOT disciples of John. Well, that still may be that they were, looking the text. A bit unclear passage. Ok let's continue Luke 5:33And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers...By looking only that passage we don't know who the people were. We have to go a little back now. Luke 5:29,30And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them. But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? So Luke implies that those were scribes and Pharisees ! So who were they after all? a) Disciples of John b) Scribes and Pharisees

I cannot know what difference, if any, it makes to get that specific one book away, I can only hope.
I have thought is this just an act to quiet my guilty conscience of something, or do I do this to look better christian? No, I don't think so. I just have this pressing feeling you know. I HAVE to do this.

This may seem silly for some of you, but everytime i see a book (I have read _much_ and still do, so books are near to my heart) of clearly questionable nature, I have to get it and destroy it. Should I find one from the flea-market, I buy it and then shred it or destroy it otherwise. Now I'm hunting one black bible in net-auction here in finland. It's gonna cost me, but hey! If that prevents only ONE soul from turning into blackness, it's definitely worth it! Before I was saved, I used to read carlos castaneda's books a LOT (all of them I think) and in fact I was not far from turning into that, to be honest. Actually one of my best friends took those teachings seriously and now I do not know what has come to him. Not anything good i am sure. That is what i do, for now. And I think whatever's gonna be my real calling i will continue doing that because i feel doing that.

Oh yes. I heard this first time not 2 weeks ago. And I was so touched by the idea of the poem. Man, that's how it goes. Only now I do have to understand this fully. I can imagine it is not easy to accept that explanation when you're in bad times. But I try. I really try.

The Lord called me to himself through a dream so I have to say that dreamworld is real The next morning i woke up, I was converted! Hallelujah! And believe me when I say that I was the last one to expect that lol But now, thinking of it I'm not surprised at all anymore. Of course, as stated above, one has to be super-careful of interpreting whether it is from God or just product of our own mind. (OR from the Enemy!) I guess, people just 'know' it when it's from God. But we are easily deceivable, so that those dreams should always be tested with the Bible.
