1  Theology / Debate / Re:Antichrist Today! on: April 04, 2004, 04:54:45 AM
Ambassador4Christ has posted five (5) pages of blatantly inflamatory remarks and not one has been deleted according to the forum "rules".  I believe the moderators are not doing a very good job of moderating this forum, or maybe this form of attack is acceptable.

Not every branch of Christianity holds exactly the same beliefs.  Why must you so harshly criticize those who have differing beliefs instead of accepting your differences and rejoicing in what you have in common.  If you disagree that is fine, but it is not your place to condemn.  What if you hold on to some belief that is in error.  Would you not desire some compassion or would you want to be treated the way you are treating others.

(this is for anyone who agrees with Ambassador4Christ, since he has already quit this forum)

Cults: Religions with fewer people.

I agree with you Davoarid, the majority will claim that the minority is a cult.  It may or may not be true, but the majority often makes the rules.

In early church history there were certain groups that believed in a christ figure or some messianic entity, but did not believe in Jesus as the Christ.  These are often refered to as "Christ cults" to differentiate them from Christianity.

(let's see how long this post lasts before blackeyedpeas deletes it)

Pilgrim, if you understood church history you would not view the RCC as a cult, but just another group of Christians with whom you disagree on certain points.  The Roman church began with the conversion of Emperor Constantine's conversion making Christianity the official religion of the empire.  It was several hundred years later when groups split off during the Reformation and these groups protested the actions of the church, thus the name "Protestant" (you knew that but I had to say it).  There are now hundreds of different churches with different rules for salvation(accept Jesus, accept and be baptised, accept, baptised, speak in tongues, accept, total immersion baptism.....get the picture?) and every one thinks the others are false and are cults.

So, which cult do you belong to, Pilgrim?
