1  Theology / Debate / What is Hell? on: March 07, 2004, 03:52:19 PM
What is Hell like?
2  Entertainment / Movies / Re:Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged on: March 07, 2004, 03:44:09 PM
I've heard about Harry Potter: Witchcraft Repackaged but I prefer to get my information from actually reading the books, not taking someone elses word for it or buying into the hype. The books don't promote any witchcraft and whoever says so is basically lying. The books refer to magic as something you get from a wand and by mumbling Latin words, which just doesn't relate to real witchcraft or the religion of Wicca which uses witchcraft. Sorry, even if you get obsessed you won't be able to fly on a broom, visit Hogsmeade, make things fly by yelling "Wingardium Leviosa!" or anything else mentioned in the books. There is no connection to spiritual witchcraft, devil worship, etc mentioned. I think whoever put out the movie just wanted to ride on the coattails of the Harry Potter success.
3  Entertainment / Music / Re:Conundrum: Music sharing on: March 07, 2004, 03:38:37 PM
I voted for somewhere in the middle. I guess I don't have a problem with it because I download if there is only a song or two I like from an artist. If I like all their music I just buy the cd.
4  Entertainment / Music / What type of music do you listen to? on: March 07, 2004, 03:36:19 PM
What music do you find yourself listening to the most? For me it's usually secular rock music along the lines of the Cure, Tool, Linkin Park, etc although I also like some Christian Rock. Also I like classical music or celtic instrumental.
5  Entertainment / Books / Lee Strobel books on: March 07, 2004, 03:28:53 PM
I have just finished reading "A Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel and I think it's an awesome book. Basically it lays down the reasons to believe and answers concerns and objections. I would really recommend it for anyone who is either concerned over some question, like the meaning of Hell or if Jesus really lived and also for anyone who is an atheist. I was an agnostic when I started reading this book and it has really helped.
6  Fellowship / You name it!! / If you had a million dollars... on: March 07, 2004, 03:24:28 PM
What would you do with a million dollars??

I would give some of the money to a charity like Unicef or another fund working with people in poverty and use the rest to take friends and family on a big long trip. Then, with whatever remains I would pay for my college. How about you? Cheesy
