"No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised..." Romans 4:20-1

You seem to suggest, lex, that prayer is a contradiction to God's all-knowing, or foreknowledge: Well, I guess this is just an aspect of the irreconcilable concepts of God's omniscience and Man's free will.Or that the two, prayer and God's all-knowing, are irreconcilable. But you forgot one thing: God's foreknowledge can also include the fact of your prayer. In fact, His omniscience certainly would include that. If you pray, he has already forecast that. If you don't pray, that too has already been forecast. You're forgetting that it is only we who do not know the future. God already knows what you are going to do. Our prayer isn't for God. He already knows what we ask. Our prayer is for us. A lesson in modesty, or humility. If he does answer our prayer according to what we ask, it may be a suprise to us; it's no surprise to him. He already knew you were going to pray for it, and He already knew he was going to answer it. (hehe). Now isn't that wacko??!! I'm not sure that it is irreconcilable, however.

Abortian is a result of unfaithfulness towards God--unfaithfulness in terms of fornication, unfaithfulness for a married couple in terms of lack of faith that God will provide. For a rape, I don't know. For the benefit of the mother--hmmmm. I'm a guy--maybe it's easy for me to say.
It's all beset with risks on either side. Marriage has its risks. Singleness has its risks. Life has its risks.
I understand that super models are having three and four abortions a year. Is that possible? Dunno.
But abortion is a result of a lack of faith in God. Probably in most cases, it is a direct result of immorality--fornication("Cali--fornication"--I understand CA has the highest abortion rate in the country?).

Hi, Cnwats. Thanks, Irish. She's right, cnwats. And time in the Word, too--often, at least daily. The human mind is a wandering sheep, constantly wandering from the fold of understanding--constantly. You must constantly be bringing it back to that "sweet spot" of centeredness and understanding. The world is very much with us, and will distract when and where it can, from your own centeredness. The Holy Spirit will helpp you. During those times of aloneness are the best opportunities to just read the word. Start from a passage that interests you. You'll start discovering things.

Prayer / Prayer Requests / Broken, tigerlily...
|
on: April 26, 2003, 09:00:24 PM
|
Thank you, everyone. This evening is prayer and fasting, Saturday, April 26, 2003. I'm praying for Broken, for her peace at heart, and her healing this evening, Lord; for tigerlily and an illness that keeps her under constant pain relief medication--a young mother with two children, husband to help and household to run, all at the same time; for others here on this board, for their requests...
In Jesus Name...

What are some lessons, as a man, you've been learning lately?
I've been learning to keep my mouth SHUT('cept on these boards, hehe). I've been learning that everything is in the power of the tongue. That I just need to ZIP IT. To SHUDUP. To listen. To ask question first, shoot later--or not shoot at all.
