Jason, ready for a return trip? The Pope needs your help lol Make no mistake, many are Social clubs, too. It is a shame, isn't it. A lot of the churches in my area are like that. We have a HUGE Vineyard church, nothing by youth. It is all Sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and it is all a Social Club. It was once a good church, too. Good people. But then the Freaks took over. And the local SBC and BMA churches, mostly it is political, but there is a plenty of Social to go around. What a shame, uh?

My 2 cents, the fact that he plays EQ, and plays with spells and magic is fine, the key word there is PLAY. If he isn’t in some delusion that he can cast a spell on people, it is fine. If Magic was good enough for C.S. Lewis, it is good enough for me, as long as we keep it into perspective, and understand there is no such thing as REAL magic. The Problem is mainly with the fact you say he is addicted to it . Online Gaming can be an very addicting thing, like chat, only with more to do. And EQ is one of the largest Gaming Networks to date, who know how many people are on it at any given time! Take him out to eat, make he go to the movies with you. If that doesn’t work, try to find thing simpler to EQ that will get him off the comp. Play a 1on1 pen and paper RPG or D&D Storytelling session with him. Take him to the local SCA or Ampguard meeting, Hack and slash online just doesn’t compare to the mass battles those groups hold. It will keep him in shape, and get him off the comp, and maybe out meeting some people with similar interest. But if your fear is the spells, and not the addiction, the LARP may not be the best thing. I would check out the SCA, they strive for historical Accuracy, and they don’t use any kinds of spells for talk of magic. The website is: www.sca.org

Right…
It is quite a popular belief all over. One of the world biggest. All the Yuppies following it. Anyhow, I just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on this, and I’m quoting what I know a Buddhist would say. Most people are not going to simply give up there beliefs because you tell them is isn’t Godly. No need to get upset, just trying to get the wheels going in everyone head. Sorry for offending you.

First off, don’t get me wrong, I’m not some Buddhism peace and unite for the World religions, but this is what Buddhist, true Buddhists, believe. I'm my playing the Devils advocate, getting to the truth of such things.
You KNOW Buddhist? Are we talking about whole hearted Buddhist, or Yuppies? The Darma teaches the following, life is all about suffering, we are the ones who cause our suffering, and we are the ones who can end it. The Darma reads as an Asian self help book. That is the whole idea behind it. The Gods where not added until they carried the Darma to India. Buddhism believe you can’t take the Traditions and Nature out of a culture, so it assimilates them, must like we took on Wedding and Birthdays, and Christmas, and Easter. And Buddhist who thinks it is about the gods, isn’t Buddhist

nah, keep talking. It is interesting. Yeah, a common mistake is that they worship Satan. Satanists are a whole other group people. It is that kind of confusion that really hurts the Christian witness.

I did, you didn’t read my post correctly. I never said we found any “WMD” but we did find proof that he had them, such as Biological Weapons Laboratories, and all kinds of things of that nature. Are you telling me you think Saddam has been behaving him self and following the rules set forth by the US and UN?

Yeah, 1000, thanks. I know, the Episcopals are even trying to get a Gay Bishop in Office. And the Methodist are just as bad, every time they need, they always come out with a SLIM win against homosexuality! How can ONE vote for it! What a shame! What is the church coming too?

Now they are saying 100 children where sexually abuses in the Boston Archdiocese over the pass 60 year, and they are not going to indict Cardinal Bernard Law for his part. What a Shame. The this happens in the largest Denomination in the World, within the boarders of the largest Christian Country in the world! What is this telling the world about Christians? John Paul need to get a few of his Vacant Knights to go over there and drop of few elbows on the pervert! Or just give the Baptist flaming knives and let them loose in the Archdiocese, giving us a permanent end to the problem Hey, Jason, ever been to Boston?

Yeah, I used to work for a Ren Faire, we get a lot of the same kinds of loons. The "fantasy" genre was a Christian creation, with The Inklings. Before then, Beowulf and Camelot was all there was. It is a shame how Satan has twisted a Christian brainchild, and made a new, anti-Christian belief system (using the word "system" loosely) out of it. Thank God the Owner of my Ren Faire believed in Historical Accuracy ,and frowned upon the cast takes part in such things. But it was still their, with the playtrons and patrons. Nut jobs, many of them. Others just do it to annoy Christians. If I may ask, what made you choose Paganism?
Yeah, we should start a topic in Theology...
