Tom,
I believe(from my experience) that every time we slip and move away from God it becomes harder to get back. That is just from my experience.

Welcome to Christians Unite. You're way too young to be a widow, but life too often gives us a raw deal. Like you, I've also allowed life and things to get in the way of my fellowship with my Saviour. Yes, it is uphill battle.
I have to agree with you on being too young. I believe there was a purpose that my husband was taken from me and I live every day without really knowing if he truly made his heart right with God. Being sedated, on a ventilator and not able to communicate other then nodding his head. He indicated that he was ready to make his heart right. Even though we didn't speak of it, I did notice a difference in the way he talked. I don't think I heard a curse word come out of his mouth. I just don't know and live with that everyday not knowing where he is at right now. Heaven or hell.

Tom, Thank you for the welcome and the encouraging words. Funny how you can lose your identity when others are involved and when you are left all alone you begin to wonder who you really are.

Hi everyone. I am 48 widow of 2 yrs now. My husband was my life at that time. I was a Christian but taking care of him took a lot of my time as a result I allowed my walk to suffer. I am struggling to get back to where I was. I have allowed people and situations to come between me and God. I need to find my way back and it feels like an uphill battle with me slide downhill.

Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Prayers for my daughter
|
on: September 10, 2008, 09:21:10 AM
|
PR, My daughter is with someone that is in the military. The rumor is the result of something else that had happened. It was not a rape and murder. Enlight of what my daughter told me, we need to pray for our military. We really need to lift up families that are left here. I think we hear too much about the attacks and bombing. I can't image watching the tv and knowing that a love one is over there fighting.

Prayer / Prayer Requests / Prayers for my daughter
|
on: August 29, 2008, 08:34:46 AM
|
My daughter is on a military base in the USA. She callled me and told me her b/f told her to keep the doors locked at all times. It appears that there is a male going from house to house tying, raping and murdering women on and off base. There have been 4 so far. I am not sure how old the murders are, but he just received the memo yesterday. Please pray with me for a hedge of protection around the whole area, not just for my daughter and that they catch this person before they strike again. Also we need to pray for these families. From what I understand there was a couple of kids that found their mother in the closet. Kathy

Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Communion

on: August 27, 2008, 08:21:28 AM

I think Communion is a result of our relationship with Christ. I believe that we can do it everyday, but we have to be careful that it does not become a ritual. Need to remember why we are doing and have grateful heart thanking God and Jesus for His broken body and the blood he shad for us.

Fellowship / You name it!! / Gas prices and a letter to my senator
|
on: June 20, 2008, 02:09:37 PM
|
Below is a response to a email I sent to my senator that I found on AFA. I wondering how long will it take for us to feel the effects or if we will feel the effects. If Obama is elected we may not see a change except for higher prices. Anyways, you can go to AFA website and send the letter they have there and let your senator and state rep. know how you feel. Kathy
Thank you for contacting me regarding the price of gasoline and diesel. I welcome your thoughts and comments on this issue.
Almost 75 percent of the price of a gallon of gasoline or diesel depends on the price of oil. Other costs factored into the price of fuel are taxes, distribution and marketing costs, and state and federal taxes. While supply and demand play a large role in the price of fuel, there are measures that can be taken to reduce the cost of gasoline and diesel.
I support a strategy that combines conservation, the development of alternative sources of energy, and an increase in domestic oil and gas production. I have recently introduced legislation that would allow for production of domestic resources in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), both of which are areas that are off limits to domestic production. Combined, these areas contain over 125 billion barrels of oil and as much as 565 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The domestic oil reserves in both the OCS and ANWR, when combined with existing U.S. reserves of 21 billion barrels, is more than Iran's total oil reserve of 136 billion barrels. However, we cannot produce these domestic resources, because Congress has enacted a moratorium on production in these areas. The legislation will repeal this misguided policy and allow for production of these critically important resources.
Conservation measures, corporate average fuel economy standards, and the use of advanced cellulosic ethanol must all play a key role in our energy policy. There is no silver bullet to our energy needs. The U.S. must maintain a comprehensive policy that includes everything from production, to conservation, to alternative sources.
On April, 29, 2008, I sent a letter to President Bush urging the administration to immediately halt deposits of domestic crude oil into the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). Temporarily halting deposits into the reserve can provide relief by increasing the supply of domestic oil available for refinement into gasoline and diesel fuel. While this is not a long-term solution, halting SPR deposits will show that the U.S. Government will take necessary measures to address the exorbitant crude oil prices that negatively affect the global economy. In response to Congressional pressure, the U.S. Department of Energy announced on May 16, 2008, that it will not sign royalty-in-kind contracts this year for the receipt of up to 13 million barrels of crude oil to the SPR. By not entering into these new contracts, no oil will go into the SPR the rest of this calendar year, which allows more oil to enter the U.S. supply.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury is currently in the process of writing a regulation regarding the implementation of a tax deduction for expenses related to oil refinery expansion. With this tax incentive, refineries will be encouraged to expand their refining capacity, allowing more automotive fuel to enter the marketplace, and thereby bring down record high prices at the pump. This tax provision was enacted into law in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, but requires the Treasury Department to issue regulations before it can be used. In an effort to bring relief to consumers by increasing the supply of gasoline and diesel, I sent a letter to the Treasury Department urging their expedited promulgation of this regulation on May 28, 2008.
I appreciate hearing from you, and I hope that you will not hesitate to keep in touch on any issue of concern to you.
Sincerely, Kay Bailey Hutchison United States Senator

Theology / Debate / Re: Obama's Church

I am not sure which Muslem leader said that they would take over the world without a shot being fired. If he is elected then I guess this would open the doors for that to happen. The people of the U.S. has already turned Seperation of Church and State to their advantage. Also they have completely twisted Freedom of speech.

Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: The pre-wrath rapture
|
on: June 29, 2007, 05:33:39 PM

Matthew 24 speaks of the second coming not of the rapture. Up to Rev. chapter 3 the church is spoke of, but after chapter 3 begins chapter 4 where the church is no longer mentioned. What has happened to the church after chapter 4? Did God just forget to mention the church or did something happen to the church? Chapter 4 begins with John saying After this I looked and behold a door was opened in heaven. After what? If something didn't happen why did John say after this? Blessings to you Kathy

Theology / Debate / Re: Are the Pentecostal Signs Being Restored?
|
on: June 29, 2007, 11:40:54 AM

Let's get out of the mindset that one's beliefs is better then another and let's considerate on showing God's love to one another and to those who really need it.
Royo, Well, after reading my post after I posted it I realized the I said considerate instead of concentrate. I guess that is what happens when you try to multitask more then you should be. I too consider myself and label myself Pentecostal. Not because of the church but because of my experience and beliefs. You see I at one time was one of those who thought the same way as most here think. I stop going to church and after about 7 yrs began going to an A/G church. I would have to say that I probably would not have experience what the Holy Ghost has to give, if my family would have stayed in the Nazarene Church. People need to get over the fear of what others think and allow God to fill them with everything He has for them. We put God in a box based on our beliefs. We need to get out of the bondage of what the churches are teaching and begin to ask God for His guidance and study the Bible for ourselves. People will see and experience a whole new relationship with God. God will never give us something that is harmful to us. The Holy Ghost is there for comfort and guidance. I can not imagine going through the day without Him. I just can't believe that people say that just because we speak in tongues, believe in laying on hands, in miracles, etc. that it is of satan. Well, I will get off of my soapbox for now, but keeping it close by. Have a blessed day Kathy

I wonder why it is that people of other "religious" beliefs feel the need to blast others for their beliefs. Pew hoppers or Holy rollers, I wonder how many of you have read the verse that says we are one in Christ. Is it right to call those of the Pentecostal belief names that I am sure Christ himself would frown upon? What a way to show Christ's love! I am thinking that maybe we should get our eyes off of the name of the church that people go to and look at what is in their heart. I also am challenging each one of you that are not "pew hoppers, Holy rollers" to seek God with every that is in you. I challenge you to ask God to reveal Himself to you in a way He has never done before. Keep an open heart and mind and God may just reveal Himself in a way you have never expected. God's isn't just a Sunday God. He is a God of all days that should be praised and worshipped everyday of our lives. Let's get out of the mindset that one's beliefs is better then another and let's considerate on showing God's love to one another and to those who really need it. I don't come here and comment very much but I could not stand by and be silent in this case. And in case you have not quite figured it out. YES I AM A PENTACOSTAL WOMAN! and if that makes me any less of a CHRISTIAN in your eyes, so be it. But my God is the Father of my Savor Jesus Christ. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is my bright and morning star. He is my redeemer in whom I shall rejoice. Let's all remember what is means to be a Christian. For you that may have forgotten Christian= Christ like. Let's all act like it. WWJD comes to my mind. Through Christ Love ya'll and have a blessed day Kathy
