Oklahoma Howdy to All,

Thank you, everyone.  This evening is prayer and fasting, Saturday, April 26, 2003.  I'm praying for Broken, for her peace at heart, and her healing this evening, Lord; for tigerlily and an illness that keeps her under constant pain relief medication--a young mother with two children, husband to help and household to run, all at the same time; for others here on this board, for their requests...

In Jesus Name...

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ here at CU. I thank you for your faithfulness to us to never leave us or forsake us. How great you are Oh! God. Thank you that once again this forum is up and running for the enrichment, education and edification of your people and those who come to this place.

You are great Oh! Lord and with hearts joined together in faith we lift up before you those that have physical and/or emotional ailments and need Your touch of comfort and healing.  Father, there are so many who come and read and do not join; may they know that You know their name and their heart's cry.  Heal their hearts of unbelief and discouraged faith.  Release to those that are here Your gift of faith and hope. Let them come to Your word with expectant hearts eager to know the Living God, for You promise Lord that those who hunger and thirst after You will find You.  Heal those with blinded vision thinking that You have forgotten them.  Let them receive once again Your word that says in Psalm 9:10: "Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD , have never forsaken those who seek You."   Let those who love Your name not receive the voice of  the Accuser that loves to bring despair, discouragement and depression.  Let those who love Your name Oh! Lord, stir up their faith and lift praises to Your name so that once again their hearts are filled with Your strength and Your joy.  For although our bodies may be ailing our hearts will not for we will choose to praise You our living God.

Thank you Lord for your unfailing love, your boundless grace and your forgiveness that is available to all who will receive. How wonderful You are!

In Jesus Name. Amen!

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I have a chronic illness involving considerable pain, but I really feel blessed to be alive. I've had some pretty good progress over the last several months, and I'm very thankful. Much of the progress is because of prayer.

Father, I give thanks for your blessings and provisions for your children. For those with family problems, I ask that you give guidance, patience, and peace. For those with health problems, I ask that you give skill to their doctors and comfort from pain. For those with financial problems, I ask that you give guidance and wisdom. For those who are serving their country around the world, I ask that you watch over them and protect them. Father, if it be your will, I ask for these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Prayer is such a gift. Thank you for teaching us how then to pray and giving us a heart filled with Your love to lift up one another.  Thank you Father that here at CU we desire to use the technology of today for Your purposes.

Father, I specifically want to lift up Tigerlilly to You. You know what her heart is needing Father. I ask that she would have a spirit of worship surrounding her heart this very night to lift her heart and mind unto You Father.  In Psalm 119:111 your word says:   "Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart."  May Tigerlilly just be reminded of all the blessings and workings of You have done for her.  Grant her strength and Your healing touch.

Father, I also want to lift up my special brothers Whitehorse, Blackeyedpeas, Symphony and Ambassador4Christ before You. Lord what a joy it is to see the hearts of these men that love You and the ministries You have given to each of them active here at CU building up and teaching others.  I pray Your hedge about each of them.  I pray for their hearts to be strengthened and filled with Your wisdom and discernment over all that concerns each of them and their families.  Guide them Father to understand Your perfect will for the decisions they are making.  As men of valor may they just be blessed to be undergirded with Your joy and peace.  Guide them in Your word to the passages of Scripture You want them to feed on that they would hear Your voice.

Thank You for being our Holy, Gracious and Loving God.  We praise Your name and thank you for all You have done for us.

In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Tonight we join together in prayer from all over the globe. Father, you know each person who comes to this forum. You know them intimately Father because You made them. You are the Creator and we honor You tonight. We thank you as our Faithful Heavenly Father.  We thank you that each one of us who love Your name have testimonies of Your faithfulness to us. Faithfulness of Your steadfast love, grace and provision. Father tonight there are many needs represented; healing needs either spiritually, emotionally or physically, provisional needs, relational skills, guidance to know Your will and direction, needs Father to know You deeper and fuller.

Give each here a hunger and thirst for Yourself that can only be quenched by wanting the presence of the Living God. Let the word become alive and as a balm to each here.  Father, we give You all the glory and ask that you would grant Your favor and that Your will would be done in each life respresented here.  How wonderful You are. May your word be for each as Psalm 119:114 indicates that Your word would be a refuge and a shield and in it we will hope.  Thank you Oh!God for all You have done.  We praise You the great I AM.

In Jesus Name,
amen.

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

I'm still away from home with my daughter's family. I give thanks for a handsome and healthy baby boy born 5-29-2003 at 8:10 AM. He was 7 lbs., 11 oz., and 21 inches long. Mother and baby are home from the hospital and doing great. Ty James is his name, and he already has grandpa wrapped around his little finger.

I have remembered the prayer needs, but I don't have much access to a computer right now. May God richly bless all of you, as HE has my family.

In Christ.

Post by: nChrist on June 08, 2003, 05:47:40 PM
Oklahoma Howdy to All,

I really appreciate your prayers for my daughter and new grandson. Grandma and grandpa got home last night and are a little bit worn out.  ;) We remember now why young and strong parents are a big plus in taking care of babies. Ty James is very healthy and both ends work extremely well. We got a refresher course in bottle feeding and diaper changing. My daughter recovered quickly from the c-section. We decided to come home when she could run faster than we could.  :D

Again, my sincere thanks for the prayers.

In Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,

How faithful You are!  Tonight we just want to gather here at the CU board and say thank you Lord for all you have done for us. Thank you that we know Your name; the name that is above every other.  Great are Your ways oh! God!  We lift our hearts before You and say Holy, Holy, You alone are worthy of all our praise!!!!

Father, I lift all those that come here for encouragement and wisdom to seek Your will in their circumstances. Let Your name be exalted and magnified. Father, my greatest desire tonight is that these precious sheep that know Your name:
Bep, Tigerlilly, Suzanne, Smymphony, Whitehorse, Comforter, Broken, Chanelle, Dave A and his sister, Alfie, Terri, Skeechkitty and the many others would be filled with your presence and that Your Holy Spirit would bring to their recollection Your testimonies of Your workings in their life to strengthen their hearts, quicken their minds and to renew their spirits before Your throne.  Let Your word be upon their tongue to stir up the faith within them. Let their minds be filled with songs of deliverance in their moments of despair.

For those that are ailing touch them Father. For those with provisional needs, make a way where there seems to be no way. For those with hearts of consternation, let them be released into Your joyful presence through praise and worship.

Thank you Father for all you are doing and for your steadfast love to us that never fails.

In Jesus Name. Amen.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

This weekend here in America we have celebrated our freedom. Most of us have known this privilege our entire lives. Most of us have not suffered in a country governed by those that promote bondage.  Father, You have blessed America for over 200 years. How gracious You are.  Father, tonight we come however, with knowledge that greater is Your concern of the hearts of those You have made.  It is Your will Father that none would perish but all would have everlasting life.  In John 12:44-46 You say:

44 Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. 45 When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

Dearest Father, You are the author of Freedom. It is Your will that all would believe upon Your name and know freedom from guilt, freedom from condemnation and freedom from death's captivity.  For through Calvary we have joy everlasting who believe on Your name. We have the assurance of knowing that one day we will dwell with You in the untimate land of freedom, Heaven and shall see You, Our Beloved One face to face.

We come tonight to pray for the needs of the believers and those that are seeking you here at CU. Let Your light fill their hearts dear Lord in each of their circumstances to know Your will.  Let Your presence reign down to cover each need, each request and each petition.  Be glorified and magnified as is due Your name. Let the praises of these here tonight be a pleasing sound unto You. Let their hearts and minds be strengthened and garrisoned in Christ Jesus.

Holy and Perfect are You Oh! Lord,
In Jesus Name.
Amen.

Lord, I lift up to you the blessed sisters and brothers in Christ at this forum I thank you for Maryanna, Symphony, Alfie, BEP, Ambassador, and others whose faithful and beautiful prayers and kind words that refresh and encourage us in our walk with you. I pray you will grant them special refreshment, spiritual blessings, and the desires of their hearts. I claim for them Your promise that the one who refreshes others will be refreshed as well,

Lord, I lift up Tigerlily and BEP and ask that you strengthen them body and spirit, and that You will let your presence be known in a special way to them.

I pray for those who are experiencing difficulties in soul and spirit, the hurting, discouraged, and those who struggle with issues of faith: Broken, Suzanne, Wenjacob, Michael, Skeechkitty and others.

We also pray for Tibby and others on vacation that you will give them traveling mercies and refreshment, and return them safely to us.

Lord, grant us an ever closer walk with You, encouragement for our disappointments, wisdom for our challenges, vigilence for our warfare, and tenderness and compassion for the lost and hurting. We praise you for Your gracious providence that has brought us to Your side. Walk ever closer with us each day, Father, and grant us the ability to be bright lights that shine Your love to the world. Thank You for the amazing sacrifice You made so we could spend eternity with You and each other.

In Jesus's precious name.
Amen

I also want to thank you, Lord, for giving me the opportunity to be involved with my brothers and sisters here who walk the path of righteousness, and are so caring of others.

May God look down on all of us with mercy, and help us during our times of need.  Please give strength to those frail of heart; may our hearts heal if they are aching, and please bring peace to those of us with inner turmoil. Heal those that are sick or lame in the name of your son, Jesus Christ the Lord.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Have mercy on us Lord,  and hear our prayers.

Please comfort those in need whether it be physical, spiritual or emotional healing which are sought.

We lift up our hearts and spirits to You for your divine intervention. Please help to heal all that are ill and in pain, and all those suffering from physical ills as well as those of the heart.

Look favorably down on us, your faithful servants, and grant us peace from our pain and suffering. We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Also please grant peace, love and joy to all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ here on the forum. May You forgive us our sins and our trespasses and lead us not into temptation, but deliever us from evil for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Here are a couple of chorus's that express my heart right now...

Theres power in prayer, power to spare..
All that you'll ever need , is waiting right there..
Just a few words, a little childlike faith,
and its goodbye dispair, Oh theres power,
so much power,
Theres power in prayer!!

Chorus #2

We will give you Glory and honor
we will lift our hearts to praise you
and exhalt your Holy name
we will give you glory and honor
we will lift our hearts to praise you
and exhalt your Holy name

You are great and your hands do mighty works
there is not one else like you,,
there is no one else like you,,
You are great and your hands do mighty works..
there is no one else like you,,
there is no  one else like you.

ok so heres one more thats  very uplifting, its sung with an upbeat tune..then ill stop LOL..

Im gonna let the glories roll , when the roll is called in Glory.
Im gonna get beside myself  when i  get beside the King that day
Im gonna have the time of my life, when the time of my life is over..
Im gonna get carried away, when i get carried way!!

WOOOHOO, wont that be a wonderful day my friends!!!

Title: Prayer for the Beloved of Christ
Post by: maryanna on August 03, 2003, 12:50:36 PM

John 14
26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Precious Heavenly Father,

We esteem You and thank you for being our God. Our hearts are grateful that You never let us go. Father work with us, contend with us to see You and Your truths that we would walk by Your design and in the heart of Your will.  I lift up my dear brothers and sisters here at CU and ask for Your fortification in their hearts and minds.  Let Your garrison of peace, protection and provision be theirs.  Grant them fresh perspective from Your word to know Your will in each of their circumstances.  Father, they are each to numerous to name but You know each one intricately and the timing of their specific need.

Father let their hearts be infused with Your hope and their spirits quieted with the confidence that You are right with them; all they need to do is look unto You and rest at Your feet letting You carry the burden, the concern, the person they are broken over.

Father, Your incredible gift of promise from John 14:26 is what we collectively want to thank you for today.  Thank you for the gift, teaching and guiding of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  Attune dear Lord our ears to Your voice. Let us not move in any direction until we are assured Your voice has directed us to move.   We want Your will more than our own. We want Your truths to govern our lives and decisions.  We want to walk as You have designed us to with hearts steadfast upon You Oh! Lord.

Father, let us to remember this promise that You will bring to our recollection all that You have deposited into our hearts. What a keen motivator for filling our hearts and minds with Your word.  Feed us Father.  Teach us Father.  Let us have teachable and hungry hearts for You.  And let us walk in a renewed confidence that we are Yours. Your beloved and You are Our loving, holy and perfect God.

Unto you we give thanks.
In Jesus Name,
maryanna

Thank you Lord for hearing your children. You know what our real needs are, and we pray for comfort, peace, strength, guidance, wisdom, and relief from pain if it is your will. We ask that you watch over our children and our military, wherever they might be, and keep them safe. Lord, we ask for the right attitude and words to help the lost who come here for help. We also need your guidance in dealing with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that our words and actions will build up your children instead of harming them. We ask for these things in the precious name of Jesus.   Amen.

In Christ,
Tom

I'm glad to see this thread. I find sometimes I forget to pray for others in the middle of my own tribulations. But its theraputic and keeps my mind busy. ANd its just a blessing to life others needs up.

Sweet Lamb of God,
Merciful Savior, Lord, and King, I praise you Lord for your Grace, and your mercy this evening. For never ending love and presence with us Lord.  May all share this  praise to you,Lord you are the great I am, the way maker thru times that seem impossible.
Lord we have heavy heart among us. Sickness, brokeness, plegded and infirmed. You know each heart and,  each need represented,  those poor in Spirit and forgiveness, who seek to know how to forgive. Give each and everyone a measure of hope Lord, and grant them peace sweet Lamb of God.
I pray for those on this board Lord, who need to know you in a personal way. Who need to find a relationship with you Lord, and find glory in your forgiveness thru Jesus Christ. I come to you humbled and asking the same for myself Lord. May we all pray in your perfect will, may we know your heart and walk in your way Oh God. Draw us every closer Lord. Give us understanding of your word Lord so that we can walk by faith, knowing that you see and hear all things.
I lift to you the personal hurts presented here this evening, and I add my own, on my knees Lord keep Zachary my foster boy in your loving embrace. Send your angels to ministry to him Lord. God I hurt so over this, give me strength and peace Lord that your are at work in this situation. May you be glorified.....amen.
Giving all honor and praise to Jesus my Lord and Savior.

Oh! Gracious Heavenly Father,

Tonight we come together to lift up those that are a part of the CU board. Father, You know each one who comes to this location.  You know their heart, their need, and what it will take for them to see You in fullness and as Lord over their circumstances.

In Psalm 119:111  Your word reminds us: " Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart."

Father, in the days to come bring forth in the minds of each of the CU family members the many blessings and workings you have granted to their lives.   Let our hearts and minds remember Your faithfulness.  Let our voices be raised in song and praise unto You Oh Lord. Then renew our hearts with hope-filled faith through Your word to once again trust You with our circumstance and needs. Perfect are You Oh! Lord. Forgive those of us that forget that. Let not discouragement or discontent have any root in us, but fill us anew with the rememberances of Your faithful testimonies unto us. We thank you for being our Holy and Loving Living God.

In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen

"And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, Oh! Lord do not forsake those who seek You." Ps. 9:10

Dearest Heavenly Father,

I join the other CU brothers and sisters in Christ this week as we lift up our nation as we remember the Sept 11th attacks. We thank you Lord for the blessings you have bestowed upon our nation.  We pray Father that the events of these turbulent days will cause those who don't know you to hunger for your truth and salvation.  Cause them Father to hunger and thirst for their Maker, You Oh! Lord.

Father, we lift up those who lost loved ones during that tragic day Father. We pray for their comfort and well being. We pray Father that Your arms of comfort would be about them this week.  Father speak Your truth to them, let them hear your message of grace through whatever source You choose. Let them know of Your boundless love, mercy and grace.

We pray as well Father for our Military.  We ask for your protection and blessing over each one and their families. And Father most of all we pray in this time of service that they will come to know You as Lord of their lives and to know Your infinite love for them.

Be glorified Father. We pray for each member here at CU those that are current and those that we have not heard from in awhile. Father You alone know their hearts and the specific needs of their lives. Cause them to see You in their circumstances and to trust you and look to You.  Strengthen us Father to walk in Your way and not in our own way.

We praise You and thank You.

In Jesus Name. Amen

Oklahoma Howdy to Maryanna,

Thank you Sister! That was a beautiful prayer, and it did me good just to read it.

We live in difficult times, and I think that prayer will become more and more important. Many in our nation have either turned their backs on God or they mock God, but I know that God still hears the prayers of the believers here.

As a nation, America has not turned its back on God yet. I pray that America goes back in the opposite direction, that America honors and praises God.

In Christ,
Tom

Dearest Heavenly Father,

This morning I come before you joining those that pray for the members of the CU board.  Father, I wish I could list every one of them by name because Father we all love to see our name in print, to know someone is thinking of us. But Father let us focus and understand that You already know our names, You Father already know our circumstance and the needs we are secretly crying about in our hearts.  Oh! Father help us to turn to you for our comfort and solution.  If we are not surrendered to You Father that is part of the reason why we are in anguish and heartache.  As Your creation we are only truly at peace and content when we are in communion with You.

Thus, Dear Father I pray for a closer place for each of us, to trust You although we don't have the answer, to put pride away and come before You lifting up Your name as the Most High.  Let us see You Father for who You are: the Great I AM, sovereign over all.  Refresh our hearts with Your spirit Oh! Lord. I think many of us have grown weary.  Become our joy again Father.  Let the river of joy from Your throne refresh our spirits again.

Let not the enemy's arrows of discouragement or despair land in our beings, but let us once again in Your Might call on Your name and find refuge under the shadow of Your wings Oh! Lord that we may soar above our earthly circumstance enjoying your presence and a heart of worship.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

Title: Re:Saturday eve.

I fast every Saturday eve, and try to check in here sometime before that.  The thread is called "Saturday eve"(hehe, hint hint-- ;D)

Here's something I was reading this morning.  Maybe for Sanjerle, for the wild fire situation, for all of us...

"Let not your heart be troubled.  Ye believe in God; believe also in me." (John...)

...and, in Matthew 21.18...

"Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered.

And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it,

Let there be no fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

These are wonderful words...        :)

Brothers and Sisters, THANKS!

Prayer is a Blessing from God. In reading the last posts, I was thinking about the joy and encouragement of being able to approach the Throne of Grace in prayer and what it must have been like for the people of the Old Testament. We now have an advocate with the FATHER and HIS HOLY SPIRIT in our hearts.

Each of you are in my prayers daily. I pray that God's Will be done in our lives for HIS Glory. I pray that our times of illness and difficulty in this short life will bring each of us closer to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Love In Christ,
Tom

In reading many portions of the Holy Bible, I see and understand that it is not always the Will of God to heal us, relieve our pain, or grant what we ask for in prayer. I think especially of Paul, his request for healing, and how his dependence and relationship with God grew greater and stronger in sickness and adversity. Paul sought the Will of God and obeyed. Paul asked several times and finally understood God's Will. It was then that Paul experienced the greatest joy and peace.

I wanted to say this to encourage you to pray that the Will of God be done in sickness or healing and in life or death. Within HIS WILL is the real peace and joy.

Love In Christ,
Tom

bep's mom into the hospital today...

Oklahoma Howdy to Symphony & All,

Thanks for the prayers. They kept mom over night at the hospital, and we got to bring her home just a few minutes ago. As it turns out, the wrong medicine was given to her for the flu, and the medicine put her in the hospital. Needless to say, we have a new doctor for her now.

Thanks again for the prayers.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Amen!

Lord, we thank you for Symphony's steadfast prayers and for giving us all an opportunity to join together to pray for each other on a regular basis. We ask that you bless him in his work and his new business, and for BEP and his family, for Peachy and her illness, and a praise for the wonderful things you're showing her. We ask that you watch over Bronzesnake and that you would let your presence be known to him in a special way as he fights a very painful and serious illness. We pray for Tibby's family as they begin this new coffee house; give them wisdom as they make choices about what will best serve their clientele, and we pray for your blessings as he studies for his exams. Also for Willow and the needs in her community. We ask that You would touch each life with Your grace and mercy and that you would use these situations to glorify Your name and bring those involved closer to you. Also, we pray for Jesussavedusall in seeking encouragement during prayer. (If I may also add a request from those who have requested prayer from me, I pray for a friend who has lifted up an unspoken but dire need before Your throne.) We thank You, Father, for keeping us safe through another year and for granting us the many kindnesses and rich mercies that have encouraged us, sustained us, and given us opportunities to serve You and edify each other.

In Christ's name...

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

Thanks sincerely for your prayers. My mother is back to normal and stronger than ever. As for me, I really don't like to dwell on or talk about problems. I would simply rather give thanks for all of the blessings that God has bestowed on my family and I.

You are all in my prayers. God's Grace is much more than sufficient for all of our needs.

Any news from TL lately?

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse,

TL asked me to make some graphics for her in the middle of June. I did and placed them in her in box here. As far as I know, they are still there. I found a message on CU for 10-6-2003, and she says that she is not doing very well. I just checked, and her Wings of Prayer Group is down.

I think that we all still need to keep TigerLily in our prayers daily. We also haven't heard from Bronzesnake in some time. He was also very ill. Let's keep them both in our prayers.

In Christ,
Tom

I last heard from TL November 17.  She seemed to be doing okay then.  Sometime before that she was going in for a CAT scan.

My cat scans me every morning but I can't figure out for the life of me what in the world that does...

I think someone is trying to find out if we're actually reading this!  ;D

Yup-we are!

I pray for Symphony, that the Lord would bless him and use him mightily in His community, and that the Lord would give peace and comfort to refresh him during this troubling time.

I pray for Bronzesnake, that the Lord would heal him or use the circumstances to bring him closer to Him ,and that The Lord would bring comfort to him in his circumstances.

Also for TL, that the Lord would give her comfort for her mind and her body as well, and that He would give supernatural wisdom to her doctors and lead her, through His providence, to the right situation.

Also for BEP, a praise that the Lord kept him and his family safe, and also a request for proper provisions during this situation.

And for Willow's grandmother, ab's mother, Peachykeen's health, and salvation for our friends. Also that the Lord would give special and tender mercies to those who are in straights with money, especially this time of year, and especially for those with children to care for.

...in Jesus's name

Almighty God knows each of our needs, even when we are unable to utter them. Father, we ask your guidance, strength, and comfort for our brothers and sisters in need - Early57, JudgeNot, Tigerlily, Peachykeen, Aw, Willowbirch, Coyote, AB, Bronzesnake, and others. For those who are seeking your will in service to You, we ask your guidance and a light for the path that would be most pleasing to You. For those who are searching for Christ and Salvation, may your Holy Spirit continue to touch them and guide Your servants to assist them. For Your new children, may they be encouraged and strengthened in Christ. We ask these things in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Sym-yep. The guy's a doctor. They lost a lot of money, and he'd due for retirement, too.

We should put a sticky in the prayer request thread so that others can see this is here and know there's an additional resource for them as they post their requests. Whaddya think?

Hmmm.   Saturday eve, January 17, 2004.  Prayer & fasting, for anyone who may like to join in in prayer or both.

I'm praying for your doctor friend there, whitehorse, for bep, for a mother and daughter in law who both lost their husbands in the same bad car accident...

For tigerlily who use to be here; for other requests here...

What does you mean putting a "sticky in the prayer request thread", Whitehorse?

Title: Re:Saturday eve.
Post by: Whitehorse on January 18, 2004, 06:40:35 PM
It means to put it at the top where it won't scroll off the page when new posts are added. It stays there, kind of like a sticky post-it note. Since Saturday Night is a regular thing, people may not realize the option of being prayed for (and fasted for) is another option for them.

Title: Re:Saturday eve.
Post by: Symphony on January 18, 2004, 07:04:55 PM

Hmm, dunno.  If it scrolls off, then if I miss a Saturday people won't be as likely to notice it.   ;D

But how would I do that.  'Guess bep or Admin would have to do that for us?   And they haven't offered to.  :'(

Oklahoma Howdy to Whitehorse and Symphony,

:D  I wonder how many put a sticky note on their computer monitors? I thought about doing that, but I try to read this thread every day and remember those who are in need of prayer.

What would you think about compiling all of the prayer requests in a list? I will be happy to do that and make it sticky so it will stay visible on the first page. If someone's prayers have been answered or they wish to be removed from the list, they could send me a private message.

Let me know if something like this would fill everyone's needs, and I'll get it done. I think this would help all of us remember some of the long-term prayer needs. If anyone has other ideas, please holler. What if I just do it? We can always change it, modify it, and take the suggestions of everyone.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Oklahoma Howdy to Willowbirch,

I still have more to do on the prayer lists, but I did wonder about how things turned out on many of the prayer requests. There were some folks who only posted 1 or several messages and never came back to let us know what happened.

I had the very same thoughts about Sanjerle. I know that many of us have prayed for her and her family. It certainly didn't sound good for her husband surviving at the time. Maybe she couldn't bring herself to tell us he passed away. Regardless, she still has children at home and needs our continued prayers whether her husband survived or not.

Each person reacts differently in crises and grief. I saw 25 years of the worst and know that some folks just fall to pieces and others may have temporary problems and seem to rebound fairly quickly.

I would ask that we continue to pray for Sanjerle, Bronzesnake, Tigerlily, and many others on the list.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I really don't want to see Saturday Night die out-I think it's so great when we can pray together. I'd like to pray for our forum in general, too, that God will use our fellowship for His glorious purposes. That's always so exciting to me, not knowing what He's doing, but knowing there's something huge and wonderful on the horizon. Preacher Michael Youssef said we recieve little because we ask little. He also said that when Alexander the Great was asked for a large sum of money for a purpose, he was advised not to give it, the reason being that the purpose could be achieved with less. But Alexander the Great said, "I like this guy. He thinks I'm both rich and generous. Give him everything he asks." And God is the same way with our godly, spiritual requests. If we ask big, we get big! ;D

Love in Christ,

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

I would first like to say thank you to a special friend and brother in Christ who has a big heart and has helped all of us to remember each other in prayer. Thank you Symphony for your love and care. I know that Symphony also has a heavy burden on his heart for difficult tasks in his community. I would ask that we all remember Symphony in our prayers that God gives him guidance and peace in whatever way God leads him. For all of us, I ask for bigger hearts of Christian love, the knowledge that God's supply of Grace is never ending, and the knowledge that our joy and peace in Christ grows as we each yield to HIS will and purpose in our lives.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know each of our needs, spoken and unspoken. We ask that You guide and lead us in the work You want done in Your Name. We know that You listen and want to hear our prayers. We ask that You take control over our lives and help us do things that are pleasing in Your sight. We ask for more of Your Grace in giving us hearts of love and compassion for others. Lord, we all have burdens for work we want to do in Your Name. Help us to do all within Your will and light the path You want us to take. Lord, help us to know about Your peace and comfort when we bring all of our burdens to You in prayer.  We ask these things in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Now, id like to thank all of yous who have continued praying  for me even in my absence..
i hve FINALLy been diagnosed..
i have fibromyalagia, Chronic fatigue syndrome and Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction
and this is what i was told about it...
which has almost identical symptoms as the spondalitis, and causes extreme pain and alot of other things such as....extreme pain  in all joints and bones..fatigue, stiffness, numbness, disturbed sleep, joint or soft tissue swelling, dry eyes, an intolerance to cold, poor memory and concentration, a sensitivity to certain foods and medications and allergens, as well as feelings of weakness, , depression, tension, extreme migrain heaadaches, irritable bowel and bladder,Cold and wet weather makes the pain of FM worsen, causes some people to feel like they are on a downward cycle, cause of being in so much pain  and having no energy it makes it very difficult to maintain normal life such as jobns, house work, liesurely things as well, which leads to stress, anxiety and depression,
The specialists said there are 11-18 tender points  which are spread thru the body, and helps them to tell how bad the FM is and that it is FM and some people have  a few,  half ect, i have been informed that i have all 18, so i am being sent to physiaotherapy, and support groups who for so many weeks help you to know what things to do to help live with it, and ill be put on medications,, he said that i have to take very small baby steps and that it will most likey take yrs for me to get into  the point that i can be in control of it in stead of it being in control of me..so with medications, and getting into shape and trying to keep active, i can eventually have a semi normal life, i have been misdiagnosed for years and years.. and he said had i been diagnosed yrs back.. id be alot better shape physically and emotionally by now, so i have a long uphill journey so please keep praying for me, cause ill need it. for the pain and for the courage  and strength to keep doing what iu need to do  to get this under control!

Oklahoma Howdy to TigerLily,

It's great to see you back. We have never stopped praying for you. Dr. BlackEyedPeas highly recommends several posts per day on Christians Unite as physical therapy for fingers, hands, and wrists.   :D   I got my PHD in an Oklahoma cow pasture.

Love In Christ,

Amen.

Also for Tibby and his school situation, the decisions he'll be making, and for his family's coffee business. :)

For Sym and his enterprises, and for PRSawyer in her decision about Neil, for Neil himself, that the Lord would give him a powerful faith in Him, and for Petro who has been suffering some hardships on the homefront, and Emery for travel mercies and the Lord's blessing on her meeting this weekend, and for her decision making, and for increased spiritual hunger for her friend.

Also Hunibuni who has had some difficult situations to deal with as well.

Also praise to the Lord for our new members, and for the wonderful mix of Christians we have here. For for the refreshment we receive from each person in a different way each tiem we visit.

Lord, we praise you, too, for answering our prayers and for showing us mercy.

In Jesus's name.

And might I add; for Cris:

Quote
Pray that God would just impart that peace that surpasses all understanding and that we (my family) would find favor with Him.  Don't want to go into detail but the situation is serious and will take awhile to get resolved.

Oklahoma Howdy to All,

Just a little reminder - we all need to remember to be thankful in our prayers. I was just thinking that we ask for so much, and God has given us much to give thanks for when we pray. I immediately think of the wonderful news about our Brother, JudgeNot. JudgeNot, I give thanks for the Christian fellowship with you and the many other sweet Christians here.

JudgeNot, I also got to play with my grandchildren tonight. The 9 month old boy just might have a little bit of his papa in him. I know the 3 year old does, and my daughter is having a little bit of trouble keeping up with them. I give thanks they are healthy and able to do their job at such a high level of proficiency.  :D  I'll just pray for a little bit of extra strength for mom and dad.

We must remember to give thanks for the many blessings God has given to all of us and our families.

THANK YOU LORD!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Let me return the blessings and transform my couch time into prayer time.

Symph - your prayers are important to me - praise Jesus for you.

I am fine - when the Lord wants me He will come for me, not a second sooner or later.  In the mean time - I'm not suffering one iota - I feel great!

I've also had an email or two from Tiger - and she doesn't seem to be doing real well.  She does need all our prayers for her pain.

We all love you Symph.

In HIS name!

Praying...

Lord, thank you for those who will come here tonight in Your Name. All glory be to You!
Lord, keep TigerLily in Your hands as she struggles with constant pain, and whatever else has come up in her life to distress her. Give her continued strength and grace to keep her through each day.
Thanks for the witness of Peachykeen as she strives to grow in You and to trust You through her trials. Bless her family also as they deal with her illnesses and the mold in their house; help them to see how strong and persevering You are, above their difficulties.
I pray for Greg, Kris777, EarthAngel, and others who are having lack of communication, stress, rebelliousness, and other difficulties from within their families; give them Your peace. I pray for unsaved family members, that You would work in their hearts and draw them closer to You; may their Christians friends and loved ones be witnesses to them, and have patience with them.
For Felix102, Broken, and so many others who are dealing with Depression right now, I pray that You would be with them in what seems like their darkest moments. Give them strength to live both physically and spiritually, to not give in to fear and doubt.
Keep JudgeNot in Your care as he bears continued health problems; also the wives of Tom and Allinall.
Thank you that LMarsh's family has gotten over their sickness, and especially her baby, since they're so tiny and fragile.
I posted a prayer request for a woman named Netta Wolf; thank you, Lord, that her depression medicine is helping, and that she is not suicidal. I pray that You would work in her life, and that somehow she might decided to come back to church.
There are so many people not in this list; You know their names and their trials, and I pray that You would be with them tonight, and be glorified in them.
I pray for the hundreds of thousands of Your children who suffer and die for Your Name; give them strength and courage, and may we in gentler climates be willing to support them also. I pray for their persecutors, that through the witness of these Christians, they would come to know the Truth and be saved.

Thank you Lord, for this beautiful spring day, and for everyone in the ChristiansUnite family.

Saturday is almost over and I already ate food today; but I had it in my heart to pray

Help us father.

The world distracts us from your will. We often forget your presence in every second of our lives. May it be that we always remember that you are always here with us through our sufferings and rejoicings. As we draw closer to you may it be known to all that you draw closer to us.

Father, make use of our abilities. Fulfill the purpose you had for our lives before we were ever born. Empower us to carry out your will.

Give us the strength and wisdom to conquer the conflicts with this world.

May it be that all us here in the forum carry out the will you have for us.

In Jesus's name AMEN

Oklahoma Howdy to Felix102,

Thanks Brother. I appreciate your effort here. I'm not sure what specific Scripture you may be talking about, but there are many Scriptures that speak of the power of prayer.

I'm convinced that I'm alive because of the power of prayer. I prayed and asked God to let me live long enough to finish raising my children, and I'm still here enjoying my grandchildren.

Dear Heavenly Father, we give thanks that everything works together for good for those who love you. Above all, we give thanks for the gift of your Son on the Cross. Our joy is knowing that Jesus walks with us in our daily lives. We pray for our brothers and sisters who are  ill or have other needs in their families. We ask that you give them peace and health if it is Your Will. Jesus, we ask for wisdom in seeking your will and following a path that would be most pleasing to you. We ask for guidance in serving you and helping the lost. We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.   Amen
