Title: Birthday Page
Post by: NateyCakes on February 19, 2004, 09:09:35 AM
Ive seen them on other forums and I always thought they were sweet. Kind of makes others get to know each other in a sense. I just wondered if there could be one or maybe one of us make one? I dunno :)
Sorry if it sounds dumb...

One loses that adolescent cool at thirty. Do they not?

Is that not when the slow progress of fogeyism starts to set in? Then that cool begins it's departure?

Fogeyism,, ROFL.<---- hysterical!! ;D ;D
ahh t'is a sad day when a person enters the fogeyism state of mind! I have to say humor keeps that at bay for me.. my body might be entering the downhill slide to IT but i refuse to let my mind go to, (albeit some would say "what mind )hehe

7-6-88 (can you feel over the hill at 15?)
04-18-98 too
Fabulous idea!

PS-I'll try and keep quiet on the old folk jokes, but just in case some of you like to gum your mac-and-cheese, 3 pm is happy hour at lubys, you can be home in time to watch 60 minutes ;)  (JUST KIDDING i love you all!)

(or jepordy for the more excited old folk...don't forget the Ensure  ;))

Oklahoma Howdy to PeachKeen,

;D  We don't have a Luby's here. My wife and I go to Sam's when we are feeling particularly adventurous. We usually take reversible clothing so that we can change our appearance quickly. We go around and around the food section where they give out the free samples of various foods they are trying to sell. It's a really good night when they have a desert sample to top everything off.  Then we really act cool, cruise the hardware section of the store, and go home.   ;D

Now, is this cool or what!?   ;D When the samples at Sam's are a little bit light, we stop at Atwood's on the way home and have all the popcorn you can eat while you shop.  ;D

You know that I'm kidding, or do you?   ;D

Love In Christ,
Tom

He-he-he...
Costco has good samples - most of them hot.  When we go "out on the town" we hit Costco for the main entre's (plus - if we feel like really being spendy, the Costco hotdog stand has big dogs for 99 cents!) then we hit Safeway and Alberton's for "desert samples".  A stop at the Dairy Queen for a soft cone (the most money we spend all night) is the perfect 'nightcap'.

We may be old, but we ain't fogies!

JudgeNot,

I hope some of these kids are taking notes. We've told them how to creatively eat for almost nothing.   ;D

KristiAnn,

It's a small world. You share the same birthday as my son.

You know that I'm kidding, or do you?   ;D

Are you sure? 'Cause we do the same thing. Our Sam's has great samples, especially on Saturday. There is also a Family Fare that has some good pickin's...sometimes D&W Foodmarket is good, but they've gotten skimpy over the past few years.

lol, yes I know you're kidding...cough...

thanks for the tips, next time I'm cruising with my girlfriends and we're low on cash (that happens a lot...surprisingly...) I'll recomend Sam's and Dairy Queen.  Maybe even the dollar theater too  ;).

Thanks for the happy birthday. One of my favorite things was my 3 1/2 year old grandson singing happy birthday to me over the phone. He's a very busy little guy and stopping all of his activities for this was very special. He then asked me how old I was. I told him, and there was silence for a few seconds, then, "WOW!, I love you bye bye."  ;D

Allinall, Noah was a nice guy, but he was very demanding on getting the chores done. I was on the clean-up detail with the animals.   ;D

PeachyKeen, HAPPY SPIRITUAL BIRTHDAY!!!!

JudgeNote and Willowbirch,

My wife and I had a quiet dinner together at a real restaurant. But we had to be cool before we went home, so we cruised the hardware section at Sam's before we went home.   ;D

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hey, what do ya think about this scripture?

Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.

HA!  I will have to seek the Lord for revelation on that one! :)

November 29.

With May coming up now, I think tigerlily has a birthday.  Ask Shylynne, she might know.

I think there is a Proverb like that aimed at women too.
At the age of 39, I've found that I no longer need to waste money buying junk to lighten my hair.
God has been doing plenty of lightening

um, bep, you said above you went to a real restaurant?

You mean, like where you get served at your table...?

THat's nice.  It's nice to be served.

Instead of standing in line, getting the tray shoved at you, and told the ketchup is behind you over there next to the drinking straws.

Oklahoma Howdy to Symphony,

;D   ;D  We got our iced tea in real glasses, and the food was served on a real plate.  When we opened up those funny looking cloth rolls on the table, we discovered real silverware.

By this time, we knew that we were in a real swanky place, so we held up our pinkies when we lifted our plates and slurped the gravy.   ;D  Everyone noticed our refined and sophisticated manners and pointed to us as examples to follow.   ;D  My wife finished before I did, so she showed me numerous creative things that could be done with a cloth napkin. Yes, it can be formed into a hat and a mask, but it is much more difficult to whip and snap it than a towel.   ;D

The end to a perfect meal like that is to play a game with the remaining ice cubes from your glass of iced tea. You count out the ice cubes and put them on your plate, making sure that each person has the same number of cubes. You then take turns launching the cubes, trying to land them in the other person's glass. The loser pays the check and you go home.   ;D   ;D

WOW!! - I hope my wife doesn't read this!!   ;D  By the way, did I tell you that the flowers on the table were real?  We ate them.
