Title: selfish prayer
Post by: Reba on February 05, 2004, 12:04:24 PM
Yup i am asking for  prayer for my self,  my sanity ( which  i do still have  :P) ..

I need/want to move to another town our house is on the market. It is a nice house I am praying God sends a buyer NOW! I know HIS time is always the right time. He knows why we want to go. I pray to always be i His will but for lack of better words I want Him to hurry up.  Thanks Reba

Yes, that isn’t Selfish prayer at all. In fact, I think that is REAL prayer. We always say prayer is talking to God, but seem to think of it as a Vending Machine. Even when praying for someone else, we seem to have a habit of just praying for what people need, and not simply “talking” to God. Talk to him, Reba. Tell him how you feel, tell him what you want, just talk to him as if he is your father.

It sounds lime a really nice house! Historic homes are really neat. OH! I have an idea. What if you could find out something about the history of the home, and then feature it in a newspaper or something. Or have a historical society help you. That could really pique interest in the home; maybe put replica glass doorknobs on the doors and everything to give it a taste of nostalgia. There are many people who would buy the house for that reason alone! :)

I'll be lifting you up in prayer, sister. :)

Thank you Tibby. That is wonderful advice.

Lord

Please show me your path out of this place physically and spiritually. Only with Your carrying me have I made it this far. Remove me from this wilderness open my eyes to your sun rise, turn my mourning to dancing. Lord comfort me in my time of need give me strength to stand wherever You place me both in the natural and spiritual. Your will is done Lord I pray your peace.

Oh, wonderful! One of our realtors was brought to the Lord when she witnessed the closeness between us and the people who bought our house, who are also Christians.

Years back i could have answered your question in a flash! NO!  Seems the more heart knowledge i gain of Him and His Word the more i see His grace and mercy. I have learned much from the so called "unsaved". Bet you have too  :)

Hey guys,

Sarah, (my should be sister-in-law but my dumb brother has not married her yet) has gone into premature labour. The child has Potters syndrome. If little JC lives he will need a kidney transplant with in about week, he only has one and it is 'broke'. His lungs are not delvopled... Sarah has asked for prayer while telling me about being angry with God and knowing how doumb that is...

My extended family was held tight together for years  It was held through prayer.... Looking back i see the loss of Dad, this family's man of God, with that loss went the glue, from the human side of  this life. Before dawn Dad was out side lifting us before the throne....

All  you fathers reading this please keep this verse close to your heart and teach it to your sons for their families....

Lam 2:19  Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
