Thanks...

These were quick responses.  You know, I was doing an 'invisonfree directory' search today.  The number of Christian boards seems to be drying up.  Some just sitting there with no activity.  ouch.  And the number of pagan boards in the 'religous' area was rising.

It is good to see active Christian sites, especially forums where you can almost reach out and touch.  Add to the forums, a yahoo messenger or aim.. and you can actually voice talk with each other.

Our Lord isn't a dummy, He saw it coming and made a way for us to reach out and 'touch' the nations.

Go God Go

I like ur enthusiasm Crosslight.  I'm new here also, just joined today.  I feel ur pain about "not having an active place to go" on the internet these days.  I used to visit a lot of church sites, but most of them don't really update their sites that often anymore.

But I am sure glad to see this place.  It looks like there is a lot of things to catch up on.  So even if there wasn't a lot of activity I can tell that there once was and have so many things to keep my attention for a while.  Hopefully, I will see you around the boards here.

Hi heirtoHisriches,

Welcome to Christians Unite. The forum has been a little slow during the holidays but I am sure it will pick up again. There are many wonderful Christians here that love fellowshipping in the Lord. I look forward to seeing more from you.

Thank you so much, for the welcome.  I am sure that it will pick up...just by seeing the amount of activity prior to the holidays.  It still seems to be moving faster than most other places I have seen.  I also look forward to interacting with the other members here.

I enjoy talking about the Word and hearing how it translates into peoples lives.  It helps me learn.  I find it the most fascinating thing to do with Christianity.  The world these days seems to be searching for more of the "fireworks" involved with the Gifts of the Spirit (mainly Prophesy and Healing), but I find so much more comfort in learning how to be better in my walk with Him and get closer to Him and allowing His character to shine through me as my means of spreading His Word.  philippians chapter 2.

Too many believers, in my opinion, are putting way too much focus on the Gifts (making them more of a little "g"), than on expressing the Character of God through their behavior...

ooo, sorry bout that...guess I already started rambling.  I don't believe I need to preach to you.  I do believe in the Gifts, and am currently able to speak with tongues, but in the area I live there are so many wonderful things going on that who wants to listen to a youngster, in the midst of such "powerful" and "acclaimed" men of God, telling people to get back to the "roots" of christianity.

It almost seems like I'm a nobody, in the crowd of somebodies, telling folks we have to do this (as what most folks may think) the hard way...

Thanks for the welcomes...

I like this.. two of us new and being welcomed.  And preach it on...
You are not a nobody... you are joint heir with Him, and that is pretty cool.

I too like to see how the Lord works in the lives of others.  I think seeing the Gospel lived out is very much an encouragement.  I like the stories of the older revivals and what the people did that put them in the position to being used in the revivals.

I like learning.  I love my prayer time and fellowshipping with the Lord (and could stay there with Him all day, day after day) but we follow the footsteps of Jesus.. so out into the world we go.  Sometimes, that can be an ouch.

Praise the Lord, though, He is our hope and will soon be here to pick us up and whoosh us away to be with Him forever.

Let's take as many as we can with us.

Yes, I thought that the welcomes came so quick.  It felt great.  It seems that we share a lot in common about how we feel about having to be out in the world in comparison to being alone with Him.  But I like to revel in the fact that He is who He is in the even more in the midst of who we are when out amongst each other.  My being around others allows him to be glorified in who He is in me.

I know that my 'worth' isn't in who men say that I am, but what He sees in me.  I just wish that His words carried the same 'worth' that so many other 'listened to' ministers.

The Lord's words carry more worth than all those ministers put together. Those ministers you speak of tend to scratch itchy ears too much instead of preaching the God's truth.

I, too, like the stories of the older revivals and pray daily that this world would see a revival like none that has ever been.

Hmm, did I say it like that.  I'm in agreement with you, about the 'word songs' most ministers play.  I guess I just meant to say that with all that is going on with other Ministries I don't carry the influence I long for when trying to share His word.  I won't stop mind you, for oI feel that I can at least break ground for the seed to be planted.  I know that the Lord can use even me, I know that He will use the 'foolish' to confound the 'wise'.

but now that I think about it, even this had His intent in it.  it's not about me so what am I concerned about?

Amen. It is not about any of us. It is all about Him and it is His words not ours.
