Don't see it.  It was disappointing, and a waste of money.  It had parts in it that I would never let a 13 year old watch.

I don't think that it has been out long.  But it is about a mother and her daughter that come to live in America.  Her mother works as a house keeper for a family.  The wife has an afair with another man and in the end the husband falls in love with the house keeper.  That is the just of it.  The movie kind of doesn't make sence.  And no, it isn't that some of it is in spanish Grin.

Oh.  I see.  Nope, I'll definitely steer clear of it.  Enough of that going on all around me.  Why pay the ticket price when you can see it for real all around?

   Huh

It is mostly about a conflict of values.  But I don't think that either family had too great values.  At least the Mexican women left before she got carried away with an affair.  The American woman was a bad wife and bad mother.  The father did seem to care alot about his family but didn't take authority in the family.  The grandmother was drunk all the time.  The American parents didn't respect the parental authority of the Mexican woman (taking her daughter out shopping, enrolling her in a private school, paying her for collecting shells).

The mexican woman took the job as housekeeper because she could make alot more money doing that than working at her two previous jobs.  The problems started when both families started interferring with each other's problems.  Many of the problems could have been prevented if boundaries had been set up from the beginning and good communication was there.  But the woman had no English what-so-ever until she finally decided she had to learn English.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. Like most Dark Comedies, It just didn't seem to know if it wanted to be a drama or comedy, which can be kind of confusing if your not used to watching those types of movies, cause you're really not sure if this part is funny or serious! Wink It is an aquired taste.
