Jesus, remember me... Luke 23:42

Hi all –
I guess I’m your newest newbie.  God bless you all for having a friendly site.  I’ve been looking around for a while.  I actually tried another site that didn’t work out.  A lot of people there claimed Christ but didn’t really act as if they walked the walk (a lot of rude posts).  Reading through your postings – I think this could be the place!

Me?  A 48-year old male, living in Northern California.  I accepted Jesus in 1972 – strayed and finally found my way home to Him.  I attend a wonderful, spirit-filled, evangelical church where we make lots of noise during worship and receive great teaching from a great pastor.  I joined up here so I could ask a few questions and possibly get some advice from fellow believers.  Some things are just too hard to ask your pastor – has anyone else ever experienced that?

Anyway; thanks for having me!

Nice to have you. Pray your expectations are realized.

Making a joyful noise, lift holy hands. All to the Lord. How wonderful.
Looking forward to your questions and maybe your answers to others. Nothing should be to hard for Christians to talk about, if Christian.

Thank you all for a gracious greeting.  I’ve explored this site far and wide, and even left a few posts.  Hopefully I’ve not sounded like too much of a ‘maroon’.  Grin

All in all – I believe the site is truly blessed with some wise folks.  I feel sure God directed Google to find this site for me with a purpose in mind.

Speaking of which – I’ll soon be posting a prayer request (as soon as I get up the nerve.)  I’ve always felt selfish for asking for people to pray for me.  My pastor has admonished me for my feelings and has encouraged me to NEVER be afraid or nervous about asking for prayer from others.  So – watch the Prayer Requests folder.  Embarrassed

Again – in the name of our Lord Jesus – thank you so much for being here!  Smiley

I just noticed your name on the music post, and I had a question: Are you, by any chance, a Bob Marley fan?

Oh-Yea! Wasn't he the ghost of Christmas Past?
(Sorry.)
No - not a Marley fan.  Maybe if I actually HEARD Marley I would be.  Isn't he the Jamaican-type who died 15 or so years back?

I'm a fan of Garth Brooks.  You can probably pick up on the rest of my listening pleasure (outside of Christian music) from that.

Yes, he is a Reggea Artist. The Reason I ask is "Judge not" is the name of one of his songs. Yeah, he died of Toe cancer just a little bit ago. He didn't believe in treating it. Said it wasn't natural.Cry Anyways, it's a  Very good song.

Don't you look at me so smugle
And say I'm going bad
Who are you to judge me
And the life I got I live
I know that I'm not perfect
And that I don't live to be
So before you hint your finger
Show your hands are clean

Judge not,
Before you judge yourself
Judge not,
If you're not ready for judgement, ohoho

The road of life is rocky
And you missed on the doom
So why you talk about me
Someone else is judging you

Judge not,
Before you judge yourself
Judge not,
If you're not ready for judgement, ohoho

The road of life is rocky
And you mist on to do
So why you talk about me
Someone else is judging you
Someone else is judging you
Someone else is judging you
Someone else is judging you
