61  Theology / General Theology / Re: Am I a Legalist ? on: May 21, 2006, 08:59:15 PM
Hi, my name is Kelly and I am a Christianaholic!

When I got to this part of the 4-page thread, I almost forgot the original topic--so, to be in sync with everyone else, "Hello and God's Blessings to everyone". There, I think I am covered.

I know what Jesus said about the Ten Commandments, and I also totally say AMEN that we, as human beings can't keep them. That is why Jesus came--to take away our sin. We need to repent, and we are forgiven. I am probably a bit off key with my answer, but it is late, I have 5 children, and it is over 90 degrees here in Kansas--bear with me.

I don't have a problem with displaying or not displaying the 10 commandments. My issue is that, ANYTHING having to do with Christianity these days, seems to be against the constitution--even though God's name is written throughout our entire countries historical records. I have a problem with, Mosques and Hindu alters being okay to display outside, but Christian nativity sets, the word Christmas and the Ten Commandments display not. I have a problem with the Muslim religion being defended, but Christianity constantly being attacked. I have a problem where, if we show a movie depicting another religion being bad, there is always BAD PRESS. But, we continue to show anti-Christianity movies--like the Da Vinci code--but if a Christian protests about it, they are called silly and/or extreme.

There, I had my say. Now, what was the question again?

God Bless!

62  Theology / General Theology / Re: “The Most Serious Assault Against Christianity” is … The Da Vinci Code? on: May 21, 2006, 08:45:07 PM
We had a sermon today on the Davinci Code, and how we can use their "fiction-called fact" to show true fact in our Bible. Gnostics have written many things, and I have read some today, in curiosity of what they have called "fact"--right down to the supposed scriptures of Eve and Mary Magdalene. I am not impressed, for I know the truth--The Bible. I will fall for no other argument. Jesus is the only truth, the only life and the only way.

With all this controversy, some of those bringing up these supposed Gospels, should look at fact as to when things were written. Our New testment was first published and appeared, only 50 yrs after the birth of Christ. The New Testament begins at 50-100AD. The complete new testament was published in 325AD.

The other books, ironically don't appear until 400-1400 years after the birth of Christ. For Example, the book, lliad had 643 copies. The New Testament--5366! Herodotus, 8 copies, Tacticus, 20 copies, and so on. This alone should show truth, but it will be contradicted by non believers--much to their dismay when Jesus does come back to take His children home!

I have no problem with believing that Mary Magdalene was an important part of Jesus' life, as were all the other women that are mentioned in the bible that followed Him and helped spread the word. As for her being the HOLY GRAIL, as the Davinci Code says, is proposterous! To say that Jesus was only a teacher and not Divine is Blasphemous by every nature of the word!

As Hollywood expands in their claim to riches by making such controversial movies that put Christianity down, I do believe that they will have to answer for these things, when our Savior comes back. I do not believe they will be pleased.

The more we give outbursts to these movies, the less chance we have to witness the TRUTH about Jesus. If we stop these movies from being shown by protesting, we make ourselves out as if we are trying to hide the 'truth as they tell it' from being exposed as falsehood. Let this movie be one way where you can approach a nonbeliever or seeker, and tell them the TRUTH about Jesus, and the TRUE book of Christianity today--the Bible!

I am going to hide now, in the event I have blunt objects thrown my way Smiley

God Bless!
63  Prayer / Answered Prayer / I am just BURSTING with Praise reports!!!!!!! on: May 21, 2006, 06:21:55 PM
I want to thank everyone here for praying for Bekah in England her child. She was released, on Friday, EXACTLY as we had prayed to the Lord. She basically had all charges dismissed with suspended sentence. The only problem right now is visitation and custody of her daughter. However, I truly believe that God will let the truth be known about her, the situation here and how loved they all are. I believe, in His timing that they will be reunited and I will be interceding in their behalf until that happens.

Praise God!

I had prayed that, God would answer me on whether we were to stay in touch or that, if it is not His Will for this to happen, all communication would stop. Each time I prayed for that, God sent a sign--letter, phone call, one of her friends contacting me--showing me that He brought us all together for His Glory. Praise Jesus for His Love and Mercy!!!

A loan came through as well, which will help us to get our credit back on track and to also pay for some much needed things in our home and with our children. Some went to His Glory and donated for Him, and the other will go towards things we have needed (like a car that runs and a floor in a room with only subflooring). I was told I would never get a loan, but I have! God knows what will and will not happen, and I thank Him for blessing us financially--He is also giving my husband more hours, which is helping our financial situation as well.

Thank You Jesus.

I found respite providers for my two autistic children, who live in the country, surrounded by horses and gree pastures, through a contact at church. My children will now be able to swim in pool all summer, which is perfect for PT and OT for them. The people that I am going to are Christian, and only take in foster children with special needs (and end up adopting them). They have done ministry for years, and have are wonderful people! Taylor and Colin will be safe, and very well taken care of during their respite time! AMEN!

I now have enough money to go and visit Bekah in England, without worry as well. I will wait on God, to see when this will happen, but I feel so filled with praise that I had to report all this. There is so much happening in my life--including plans for ministry in Gambia next year. My candles for the Lord are selling, without me even trying to sell them. God is working on my life in so many ways, and I have become so intimate in His relationship with me. Our time in my prayer room has been so rewarding and I feel so much peace from my calling to intercede for others, as well as His plan to bring me closer to Him.

God can make a way, where there seems to be no way! Nothing is impossible, as long as we go to Him first, and lay it all at the foot of His loving cross. Praise Jesus!

Sorry this is so long. I am just bursting with praise and love for our Father!

64  Theology / Debate / Re: The Bible will never mean what it never meant on: May 20, 2006, 02:08:29 PM
Amen! I am learning more and more each day, and I have read the Bible many times! Each time, God guides me to learn something that involves my daily walk with Him.

The thing that I believe in is that, we are not to master the bible, but to let the bible master us! I am holding strong to that.

God Bless,
Kelly
65  Theology / Debate / Re: Why dislike Mormons so much? on: May 20, 2006, 02:06:21 PM
I dislike no one. God tells me to to hate the sin, but love the sinner. I will follow what He says to do, under His one and only law, written in the one and only, true Bible.

I have family members that converted to being JW's. I have seen them come into my grandmother's home and go "right at her" about Christianity being wrong. She always came back with love and said, "you have your beliefs and I respect that. However, respect my faith as well and don't ever put down my Lord". JW's are a cult and there is no other way to put it. I don't do DOOR TO DOOR religion sale either, which Mormon's also do. We are to witness to others about Christ, but not use scare tactics of firey death and children screaming (as on many pamphlets) to do so. His truth doesn't cause fear. His truth brings peace.

I have friends that are mormon. I respect that they are, but will never agree or condone what they teach. One major issue we always come to is the Trinity. Mormon's don't believe in it, nor do they believe in other things that are in our bible. They also have their own teachings about Jesus, which I have seen but refuse to read. As for someone saying ANYONE is greater than Christ, I firmly oppose false prophets, as the bible tells me to. NO ONE is greater than Christ and never will be. Father, Son, Holy Spirit are all one. There will never be any greater, no matter how much one might believe they are. Enough said on that subject.

I follow one teaching--Christianity as taught through the Holy Bible. Praise Jesus!

God Bless,
Kelly

66  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Update! on: May 20, 2006, 01:44:37 PM
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Although the situation I asked for prayer about stands firm, and I am not going to Ireland, I have been engulfed by the Holy Spirit since then and have felt so much joy since the decision to not go was made! I know now, in my heart that, God wants full control of my life and my path today is to be an interceder in prayer, and to become more intimate with Him. I set up a prayer room, with candles all around, a kneeling place for deep prayer and a glider rocker where I intercede and have time with the Lord. I have been truly blessed with His peace and guidance! I feel His presence so much in my life and when I am praying for others, I feel so filled with the Holy Spirit that sometimes, I just feel like I am going to burst!

God is so good! I make soy candles and haven't put them up for sale. However, they are selling before I even market them, by people just seeing them when they come into the house! My husband is picking up more hours, slowly and we are getting back on track, financially! I can feel the Lord moving in my life, and see it happening in others as well! Our church is growing stronger, and I am now part of the interceding team there as well! How beautiful and faithful our God truly us. Praise Jesus!

Last night, I sinned and drank to the point of getting drunk. I have asked God for forgiveness with this, but wanted to talk more with an agnostic friend who is ill with MS, as well as drinks heavily. I fell into sin and drank with her. But somehow, God used that to help me to witness to her when she was calmer and listening. She finally came to peace about Abraham and Isaac (the sacrifice that was told to take place, but didn't happen). She lost a child and had many problems with this, bringing no anger. After explaining about Abraham's faith and that he had enough faith to know that, God had promised Isaac to be a leader of nations, that God would never forsake His covenant. She now has peace and let me talk more about Jesus, David, and other parts of the bible that she never let me speak of before. Instead of argument, she enjoyed the conversation. Even in my weakness, God used that time for me to witness, and I am praying hard that she comes to the Lord and finds peace in her life. (I am not proud of drinking this way--I have not drank in a long, long time and didn't expect to get the way I did. I didn't want anyone thinking I condone my behavior--I am in prayer for forgiveness over this).

Anyway, I wanted to update about how much the Lord is blessing my life by praying for others. I have been praying for someone who has marriage problems (abuse) and, since praying she has seen a major change in how he reacts. Praise God! He is working, and we just need to put all our faith in Him!

God Bless you all,
Kelly

Dear Kathy,
I prayed for your situation after I read through the posts. I will continue to pray for you. Keep us updated and God Bless you. You have much faith and that will be rewarded, sister.

68  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: I need your prayers for direction on: May 20, 2006, 01:29:27 PM
Precious Eve,
I shall add you to my intercession during my nightly time in my prayer room.

I can tell you that, worrying about finances takes everything out of the Lord's hands and into yours. It is easy for me to say this now, having already been through this, but I finally learned that, mountains don't move until I give everything to our Lord and lay it all at the cross. As with the sparrow, God will provide. He just must be given full control over your life. I will pray that you gain enough strength to give Him it all and I have faith that, you will see major things happen in your life once you do.

His time is never our timing, sweet one. Yet, He has a plan for us all and it appears, by what you are writing that, He is preparing your journey and strengthening you through your trials as well.

Try not to listen to man's advice, for advice should come only from the Lord. If I had listened to the advice of everyone around me, I would not have my marriage restored today. Everyone wanted me to divorce but I felt that God was working on both of our hearts, and stayed faithful while separated. It took two years but, major things happened to us both during that time, and now, we are together again, and strong in faith as well! This would have never happened had I listened to everyone else.

I will be praying for you sister. God Bless you!

In His Name,
Kelly

I have prayed for God's Will to be done! God Bless, Kelly
71  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Please pray for me on: May 10, 2006, 02:22:03 PM
I just found out today, after spending money on a passport and believing that I was leaving next month for Ireland, that I was not accepted into the program. I am the mom of 5 children, 2 of which have autism and have stayed home with them for 14 years. Yet, the committee felt I wasn't geared for children' ministry. I am hurt and confused, having planned on this so long and it taking them so long to come to this decision. After seeing the list of those going, I feel, in my heart that my age might have played in this decision (all other names appeared to be college students). I really felt led towards this mission, and I believe the funds came in for it for a reason. Please pray that God's Will will be known to me as to why this occurred.

Secondly, I received emails from the UK today, pretty much putting me down for taking in and loving two people that come from there. Because I had asked for legal help, and the person in charge posted my letter on a website for information, the UK was dismayed at this being done. At the time of the posting, a girl I loved was in Federal prison on remand, and I had no idea where her child was. Also, I had been told for a long time that, she was here for safety reasons, and she was an abuse victim. I was trying to help and cooperated fully with the UK for their return, but am being treated as a criminal for doing so. All I did was, as mentioned in Roman's 12--opened up my house and took care of those that needed my help. How is this criminal? I have never visited the UK, yet I am considered a criminal for doing what God asked me to do. I am so hurt and confused.

Please pray for me to have strength and understanding as to why so much testing is going on at this time. I keep doing things that God asks me to do, but it seems that other countries feel this is wrong. I am in tears over everything that transpired this morning, from emails (from England) to missionary trip being abandoned. I do work here in the US, from bereavement to rape help, and so wanted to help others in another country hear about how the Lord had worked in my life, and encourage them to have the same faith in Him.

Please pray for me, as I am confused and ready to just throw in the towel on everything that I do to help others. It seems that, the more that I do to help, the worst things get. All I do is love and help others that ask for my help, and it ends up turning into something wrong. I am so confused.

God Bless and thank you!

72  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Whats happened lately in my life. on: May 10, 2006, 10:04:20 AM
I think this is absolutely wonderful. I also admire your ability to forgive. I have met so many in my bereavement coaching that cannot get even close, and most have not been through what you have. You are truly a true child of God and a great testimony.

I will be praying for your relationship! God bless you!

73  Theology / Debate / Re: GOD don't want you to have TATTOO on: May 08, 2006, 07:39:43 PM
I have chin hairs, c-section scar from one side to the other, my eyes hang, I look like the michelin man (although, he won the beauty contest last year), but you know...God loves me anyway! Now, if it is a vulgar tattoo, then I agree--it shouldn't be there. But, a tatoo of a dolphin, or something about faith, or anything like that..if you want to sit there while someone sticks needles into you and go through all that pain, go for it. God loves you because you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Now, on the other hand--pierced tongues, noses and other "areas that are interesting"..that is another topic all together! Ewwww....

God Bless!

BlessedX2 said: Hi, I just wanted to say that I believe the drawing happens first... I think that if God does not draw us to himself then we would never  believe in Jesus!  If you have come to Jesus for salvation the God has drawen you!

Amen!!!! We all have free will, but God is always there, ready and waiting. I truly believe He led me to Kansas, away from Massachusetts, so I could be saved. Had I not moved here, and found a nondenominational church that taught me to read the Bible in the truth it was written, I would not be saved now. I would be in the same dark hole I was in back home for so many years.

Many people CLAIM to be saved, because they believe in Jesus. Yet, they do not follow in His ways or His teachings. To be saved is something that you must take seriously. It is more than just a declaration. Your old self dies and is reborn COMPLETELY in Jesus. Yes, we will stumble but, with our faith Jesus is right there to pick us right back up so we can come closer to Him, IN Him.

75  Theology / Debate / Re: Benny Hinn or Ben Hinnom? on: May 03, 2006, 10:44:01 PM
As I said in a previous post, all this guy wants is money. They never responded to my prayer request. They now send me spam to donate. This is the message, directly from his website that I received today--it can be taken as a threat by those that truly do believe in this guy:

My personal note to you—I am making urgent decisions and I need your help today!

My dear friend Kelly,

I want you to know from my heart how much I appreciate all you have done for the Lord Jesus. And I also want you to know that there is no greater cry in heaven than the cry for lost souls to be saved—for lost humanity to hear the precious Gospel of our wonderful Lord.

Together during 2006 we have already seen millions of lives testifying of God’s soul-saving and miracle-working power. Each and every precious name has been recorded in heaven, and to God be the glory and honor for what has been accomplished.

Yet at the same time we are seeing the greatest spiritual victories and facing critical decisions concerning whether we should cancel several upcoming crusades.

I have always tried to be open with our partners and ministry friends when we have faced challenges in the past, and that’s the only way I know to be now. All I can do is share my burden and vision with you, then I must rely on God’s people to respond as you have so many times before.

Precious partner, please give me a few moments to share my heart about the critical decisions I must make during the coming hours...

if you click on the link, it tells you to send him money or he can't continue saving people. Oh, how I want to send this guy a bible and underline how much Jesus and His disciples did with no shoes, rags for clothes, and walking everywhere--let alone sleeping on rocks sometimes.

Ahhh..thanks..I feel better now...I must go bounce this email back to Mr. Hinn-der so they LEAVE ME ALONE!

also, this is HIS DIRECT SITE..what is said on this site is his own (or his financial advising staff's own) wording. This isn't just an opinion. This comes directly from the site he has online to take money from.

God Bless,
Kelly
