My husband and I have been married almost 9 years, but he wants a divorce.  I don't.  He's leaving for Iraq in 3 months and wants it to be final before he leaves.  He was my best friend, but now he won't even talk to me.  He has another woman in his life and wants me to move on.  I can't even get through a day without tears, let alone move on.  Please help me, if I can't find the right words, maybe someone else can help me.  We swore to God that we would make this marriage work, and I'm still fighting for it.  God hear my prayers, please help us.

Bell,

From other thread I say welcome to the forums.

Keep in prayer Bell.  But always remember that you also cannot force him to stay.   I am not advocating a divorce or anything of that nature.  But keep your focus on God and what His will is.  Do not let this be a stumbling block for your walk with Christ.

Bell I will be praying that your husband will realize the will of God.  I pray that you will find strength in Jesus and continue on with growth in His spirit.

Bell, my heart goes out to you.  Praying for you, too.  God bless, strengthen you and give you His peace.

Hello Bell,

I don't think that I've had an opportunity to welcome you, so WELCOME!

I do look forward to having fellowship with you, and I hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

I think that prayer is the number one answer, and I will be praying for you and your husband. My first thoughts involved you asking him to go to counseling or to your pastor and discuss this.

With nine years of your life involved, having a quick end does not seem to be reasonable or right. A delay would at least give him time to think about things and consider counseling or other outside help. I'm probably right in thinking that you don't have to give him a quick end to the marriage. Additional time would be to your advantage if you're wanting to save this marriage.

These are just thoughts, and I hope that they help. In the meantime, I'll be praying for you.

Love In Christ,
Tom

KEEP LOOKING UP!!

After reading through things again I agree completely with what BEP was saying.  And I guess I did not make that clear enough in my post.  Time in on your side in these situations.  There was an old Kenny Rogers song that stated that you had to know when to hold them and know when to let them go.  That was the point I was trying to make and failed miserably at it Smiley

Still praying for you and your family.
