Good morning, Brother David.
I like eggnog. I haven't had any yet this year.
It's a "warm" 5 degrees when I got up this morning so I'm having lots of hot coffee to help me keep warm. I imagine that it's probably quite a bit colder where you are.

Hello Brother David and All, I haven't had any eggnog this year either, but I do like it. My wife usually makes a special hot apple cider this time of year, and I'm looking forward to it. It's slow-brewed in a special little pot and fills the house with the aroma of various spices. I don't know what all is in it, but it smells wonderful. I know that it has orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other aromatic spices. It comes in a mix that you can buy at the grocery store, and it tastes as good as it smells. It probably even has some tea in it. Once ready, you pour it through a strainer into a cup and it's wonderful. Adding sugar or anything else would probably ruin some of the flavors. The apple and maybe some other ingredients make it naturally sweet, but not overly sweet. You can smell the fragrance in the entire house for several days after making one small pot. In the meantime, I have my plain black coffee that I'm enjoying right now. YUM! Pastor Roger, I'm happy to know that you have an ample supply of regular coffee again.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
I'm sitting here making some posts, reading some devotion material, listening to some news in the background, and drinking some coffee.
I just heard part of a news spot that was shocking. Here's the part I caught: A court is considering the ban of singing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in a school somewhere because Rudolph is associated with Santa - AND Santa is associated with Christmas - AND Christmas is associated with CHRIST. EXCUSE ME - THINGS ARE GETTING RIDICULOUS! Let's remember that the Isaac Watts Hymnal was one of the primary teaching texts in public schools for many years before and after 1776. If our Founders heard something like this, they would be ready to fight another Revolution. RELIGIOUS FREEDOM was one of the main reasons for the Revolution, and that's why RELIGIOUS FREEDOM is part of our Constitutions - Federal and State.
Can they take our RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AWAY? NO! - Not unless the people use DUE PROCESS of law and the COLLECTIVE PEOPLE change the Constitutions. We must NOT allow anyone to hide our Christian Heritage, Founding, and History. It's far past time for us to be telling some folks: If you don't like our Christian Heritage and Ways - LEAVE! They are free to leave whenever they want to, and maybe they can talk some of the ACLU into going with them!
NOW - Back to my coffee.

Good morning, brother. It does get difficult to care about much of anything in this world. Especially when it seems the world is coming down around us. Just keep in mind that God is indeed on our side and that the "fix" is on it's way. EXCUSE ME - THINGS ARE GETTING RIDICULOUS!
NOW - Back to my coffee.
Amen! Sometimes so ridiculous that I have to take a reprieve from the news go get some coffee, pray, pray some more and then get back to it. Coffee breaks with Jesus are the best ones!

I do have my coffee, and I'm sitting here listening to a little bit of news.
I was just thinking that this has been a wild year. When I listen to the news, I have to remind myself that the world is falling apart. As a Christian, I was thinking about the word "Expectations". We are in the world right now, but we're NOT of this world. What should we expect? What are our expectations based on? The answer should be JESUS CHRIST - not the world!
We need to KEEP LOOKING UP!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HIS NAME IS
JESUS CHRIST! Luke 2:7-14 NASB And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. "This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased." Isaiah 9:6-7 NASB For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this. Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever!

That is some rich, flavorful coffee. Most coffee's grown in rich volcanic soil are quite good.
