Hello islandboy, It's good to see you here.
Unfortunately this is not an abnormal situation. I have found that the majority of time it is about clicks and power. Irregardless of the reason it does nothing for the edification of the church and in fact hurts it tremendously. It is sad news indeed that such things are happening in greater frequency.
I will be praying for your pastor and your church.

Here I sit with a cup of coffee, looking over the last several posts and doing a lot of LOL. Coming here is sure to put a smile on my face. Well I'm happy, you had a good laugh from some of the previous posts. I know we have had fun, in coffee time. Christians should be the happiest people on this earth. At church today we had a sad bit of news. Seems a few people in the church are dissatisfied with our pastor and have been nitpicking behind his back about how good he does his job. Well today it came out in the open, raw edged and painful to hear. Now our pastor is deeply hurt by the actions of a few and has said "he will leave if he is not wanted anymore". Well I will tell you I was in shock. I sat there in my pew and cried. And prayed about it. Why is it that a few dissatisfied people can ruin the harmony of a wonderful little church by cruel back-biting and pure meanness. I am heartsick about it as I sit now with my cup of coffee and share this news with my friends.
Our pastor is up in his eighty's and preaches the word of the Bible, straight from the Bible, with no sugar coating. He is a gift from God. Not many preachers like him are left and it will be a great sadness and shame on us if he leaves our church.
I also will be praying for your pastor and your church. We also must remember that this is a time of apostasy. We have been foretold this in the past in Hebrews. Hebrews 6:4–6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Peace and Grace unto you Bob

Hello Islandboy, Sister, the Bible tells us that many people won't be able to endure sound doctrine in the End Days of this Age of Grace. More and more, this appears to be happening. I will also be praying for your pastor and congregation. If people want to hear the full-strength GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD and Study the Bible, places like that can still be found. However, they are getting fewer and harder to find. The pastors who are NOT ashamed of the GOSPEL and give it faithfully need encouragement and prayer. More and more, they won't be popular. Many people do want their "ears to be tickled", and their are tons of places for that. The devil is working overtime, even in our churches and homes. We should know that sincere servants of GOD are going to be attacked in many ways. Ephesians 6:11-20 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.Love In Christ, Tom Favorite Bible Quotes 188 - Isaiah 11:6-9 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

I'm enjoying my morning coffee in silence today. It's the first day of school here today for the elementary grades. High school and middle school has been in session about a week and a half now. This is the first day since back in April that the neighborhood is quiet and no one in site except for us elderly ones. I went outside and was able to actually hear my neighbor talking without having to go over there and without being swarmed by little ones. This might take some getting used to.

I actually slept in this morning! Something I never do no matter how late I stay up the night before! But I've had my usual pot of coffee and ready to get back to some projects I have going and enjoy this day off while watching some movies. I was off yesterday also and watched a couple of good movies. Anyone seen "Bucket List" or "3:10 to Yuma"?

Neither movie sounds familiar to me. The kids only had a half day of school today so the noise has returned. Actually I love to hear kids playing and having a good time. I think that they are a bit wound up more than usual right now though.

Bucket List is 2 old guys that are dying and decide to go on a wild adventure first. Also really good. Well I've spent the past 1 1/2 hours mimicking one of DW's posting frenzies. I suppose it's time to get to those projects I was talking about earlier before I got side tracked. I'm still working on curtains for my friends boat but taking a break from that and crocheting a baby blanket for a friend whose daughter is adoping a newborn next month! So here I go....feet up....lap full of yarn....an another movie!

I don't post in a frenzy. Now I need to have a cup of coffee, and read some posts, before I go to bed. That way, Lizzie doesn't get upset at me, for over doing it. Yes I came close to over doing it today.
