lol  ...  spicy is out for me. My cast iron stomach has turned into rice paper.

Yes, coffee in a ceramic cup is best. That is what I use at home, too.

I can't handle "as spicy" as I used to but I still like it, only in a milder version!

I still like it too but my stomach says no even to the extra mild, low fat sausage.

For me, I think that a lot of it has to do with how fresh the coffee is. I love the aroma of fresh coffee. By the way, I must say that the aroma factor is missing many times in those $5 and $6 cups of coffee. I really can't figure out the attraction to that super expensive stuff that doesn't even smell like coffee.

Speaking of coffee, it's time for another cup of coffee. In fact, I think that I hear Juan Valdez at the back door delivering a fresh bag of coffee beans that he just picked PERSONALLY for me.    Grin

Good morning everyone!

As Christians, we can say "Good Morning", even when the news is bad and there are many things sad happening. As an example, I'm praying for the victims of many recent storms and the survivors. There doesn't appear to be much to smile about this morning, but we are Christians, and many things never change for us.

GOD is with us and HE never changes.

JESUS CHRIST is our LORD and SAVIOUR, and we've already been rescued from the curse of sin and death.

Our Riches in CHRIST are beyond human imagination.

CHRIST will never leave us or forsake us.

The HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD lives in our hearts.

Our HOPES aren't in this world because this world isn't our HOME. Our HOME is in HEAVEN with JESUS CHRIST forever!

Brothers and Sisters, this doesn't mean that Christians are immune from sadness, care, tears, and fear. It simply means that all of these things are much different for us. Now more than ever Christians need to have a Biblical view of the world. Christians need to be praying, studying GOD'S WORD, and praying some more. We should be concentrating on what GOD'S Will for each one of us is, and that can only be determined by prayer and living each day for the LORD. We should also be concentrating on the Promises of GOD to us and how those Promises will directly apply to us in increasingly difficult times. We need to grow closer and stronger IN CHRIST!

Colossians 2:2 NASB
that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself,

Philippians 2:1-2 NASB
Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Romans 15:5-7 NASB
Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:18-23 NASB
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

SO, Where is everyone?

I'm hoping that most folks are OK from all of the recent storms. Our weather here was fairly mild in comparison to many places near us. All I got was a cold, and the house is in one piece. I know that a ton of folks weren't nearly as fortunate, and they are in my prayers.

I'm here   ....   now.  If everyone else is like me then I can understand where they all are. It sure has been a busy time. Our 6th grandchild is due any day now. Lots of trips to the hospital thinking he was coming soon. Lots of other appts. It seems all the Drs appts piled on us this month. Praise God though it has all been good news.

The weather hasn't been as bad yet as expected even though we did get 8 inches of snow just recently all in one night and an inch or so here and there. We're supposed to be getting more tomorrow. At least it wasn't the 19 and half inches that dumped just 15 miles north of me the other day. I feel for those in that area.

CONGRATULATIONS GRANDPA!

YEAH!

You obviously have electricity or you wouldn't be on your computer. There are tons of folks without all kinds of services because of various kinds of storms. All of these folks are in my prayers. I will also be praying for the new baby and mother.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I appreciate the prayers, brother. This is their third child and I think that she is more nervous about this one than she was about the first two.

No electricity problems here as yet anyway. This time of year that is always a possibility. Prayers are with all those that are experiencing the really bad weather right now as well as those from the aftermath of the storms. We have family all through the areas hit with tornadoes the last few days. We were able to contact them all and all are doing fine.

Up until recently I piled on the hot pepper on a lot of foods. I've noticed, though, that my stomach is rebelling against all that, and I've had to drastically cut down. Unfortunately, with other ailments, I've had to cut out most fat, salt, and sugar. Eating is not the pleasure it used to be.

Hello Jon-Marc,

Brother, I think that you are in the same age group as many of us. Most of us didn't eat correctly for many years, and there is eventually a price to pay. Of course, we are also growing older, so we will naturally have some health problems and illnesses. We've lived through and probably taken part in the fast food times that are definitely not healthy. We were bombarded with processed foods that were designed to taste good instead of being healthy, and many of us probably didn't know how unhealthy many of these things were until recently. So, many of us are too heavy and suffer various ailments because of what we've eaten over the years. So the name of the game now is low-fat, low-cholesterol, high fiber, and balanced nutrients with a variety of healthy foods.

It is somewhat of a surprise that doctors have said that coffee is good for you, but the things that many folks put in it are bad. I enjoy coffee without the bad stuff, and I'm having a cup right now.   Cheesy   Some of the bad things we ate over the years were out of ignorance, and some of them were simply because we liked them. I've been told that hot pepper is good for you if the rest of your diet is good. In fact, some cultures with very long life spans seem to be connected to HOT but healthy foods. Maybe it was the food instead of the spices.

Pull up a chair, have a cup of coffee, and dunk your Melba toast for some extra enjoyment.   Wink

Grin  But that's the only way I can get the Melba Toast down.

All kidding aside, my wife and I are on the same diet and there is a fairly big variety of healthy foods that are good for you. They don't taste as good, but some of them aren't bad at all. Quantity and frequency is something else that must be learned. As an example, plain baked potatoes at the right quantity and frequency are GOOD for you. Our bodies need a certain quantity of salt, but beyond that is really bad. Salt substitutes and garlic taste pretty good. In fact, there are quite a few spices that taste good and aren't bad for you at all. I just haven't found a way to make Melba Toast taste good.   Cheesy
