I'm sorry to hear that, sister. The Sanity Squad to the rescue. Sit back, put your feet up and have a pot of coffee.

Hey, looks like more fun than I'm having tonight!  My goodness.  Bless their little homeless hearts!  The truth is though, I can't think of any place I'd rather be right now.  It's too early to go to bed.

WOW! - I have a hard time believing that it's been 12 days since anyone had a cup of coffee. I'll go ahead and tell you that I've had my coffee every day.

It's time for a cup of coffee right now. I'm going to get wild and use some diet cinnamon Coffee-Mate. You know that you're getting old and dull if you think this is wild.   Wink

I was just reflecting on a large list of blessings and giving thanks. I think that we all need to do that at least daily. Regardless of our circumstances as Christians, GOD has been good to us.

Before I forget it, Pastor Roger will be gone most of today for the Graduation of his son from AIT. If I remember correctly, that's also at Ft. Leonardwood, MO.

If we get down from time to time, it's good to consider our blessings and:

Romans 4:22-25 NASB
Therefore IT WAS ALSO CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification. "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.  "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT."

1 Peter 1:3-5 NASB
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Titus 2:11-14 NASB
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 John 1:1-4 NASB
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life -- and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us -- what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.

Good Morning Brother David and All,

I had also wondered why we haven't used this thread in a while. However, this is the time of the year when many people have vacations and go visit family. The forum usually slows down a little bit during this time of year.

Just Think - This might be the year when THE CHURCH is RAPTURED HOME to Glory!

Hey there, I haven't been here in a while either. Been posting other threads and on two other websites, but never seem to have time for coffee. been drinking lots of hot chocolate and ice water though.
Now tonight is the time to relax and enjoy this coffee. Time to put up the big pot of coffee so there is enough for everyone.
Have a donut or a few cookies too. Many blessings to you all.   Smiley Smiley Smiley

I have strange feeling it will be this year. It isn't that hopefull feeling, it's the feeling you just know it as a fact.

Yes, I was gone for a little while. I'm back now and what a trip. The Lord's hand was at work every where on this trip. It is wonderful to be one of His children and to see Him working in and through so many people at a time that we also are seeing so much evil in this world.

The coffee is on and I'm ready for some more wonderful fellowship.

That may be very true and I do hope for that day. Whether it is or not we should all be ready at all times and continue in His wonderful work until such time, His time, that we are called home.

A little more about my trip yesterday.

We went to see our youngest son graduate from AIT at Fort Leonard Wood and then to bring him home to his reserve unit. It was a wonderful time and a really great graduation ceremony. We got there early. It was being held in one of the bases Chapels. We saw a group of those graduating, while waiting for family and friends to arrive, gathered together in the hallway just outside the main auditorium in a circle arms entwined and bowed in prayer thanking God for His guidance and aid in seeing them through and in preparing them for what may lay ahead of them asking for His continued guidance and grace. Not to brag too much, but my son did lead that prayer.

During the ceremony one of the base Chaplains also offered a very wonderful prayer. I also had a chance to talk to a number of the graduates after the ceremony before they were rushed off to their barracks and then to various other destinations. Several of them offered their testimonies of how God came into their lives while there and how they were looking forward to sharing that with all that they met in the future. It was definitely an uplifting day.

On the way home we stopped by a Shonies. The waitress advised us that we would get a 20% discount because our son was in the Military. After getting our son gave the blessing a young lady came up to us, thanked our son for his service and gave him some money saying the meal was on her, her way to say thank you. My son tried to refuse the money but she insisted saying that God had laid it on her heart to do so. We all said thank you and God bless you.

Just as we were getting ready to cross the river at St Louis our transmission started giving us problems. It is in a spot that I-55 turns into one lane and takes a 90 degree turn to go over the bridge. There was no place to pull off the freeway and the bridge had no side lane (shoulder) to pull off onto either. A semi driver saw out situation and pulled up behind us. A semi driver saw us having problems and instead of passing us, even though he had a number of opportunities to do so, he stayed right behind us so that no one would hit us until we got to a point where there was a shoulder to pull off onto.

The transmission wouldn't work in any gears except first and second. The bands for third and reverse were gone. We couldn't get a tow truck so we drove it at 30 mph to the first turn off where we found a transmission shop. They verified the bands were shot and told us it was going to take 4 or 5 days to fix and $1500.00.

No way could we afford that. We got back on the road and traveled from there to home (approx 160 miles) at 30 mph all the way on the shoulder, carefully crossing on and off ramps. We hit Springfield, il right during evening rush hour. That was a real trip. It normally takes about 2 hrs, it took us more than twice that.  A lot of prayers and with God's hand on us we made it home with no further problems. The car is back at the used car dealer we got it from just 4 days earlier and they said they are going to get it fixed or get us another car.

We are home and safe. What a wonderful trip full of blessings. A testimony to the wonderful works of our Lord.

AMEN AND AMEN!

YES BROTHER - You definitely did see and feel GOD'S HAND! There's no way that many coincidences could come together. I really don't believe in coincidence anyway. Just the safety issues you mentioned are close to miraculous in that kind of traffic and in those conditions.

Your description of the outstanding young adults THANKING the LORD reminds me much about those I met at my son's Navy Graduations and watching many graduates from Ft. Sill. It is an uplifting experience and gives one cause to be optimistic - knowing that there are still many fine and outstanding young adults. It would really be nice if we could hear about them and see them on the news frequently so that everyone could be reminded everything is NOT bleak and dismal. Instead, we get bombarded with all the negative, and the positive isn't covered. They are ALL volunteer Patriots wanting to serve their country, and most of them are Christians. It makes me proud just to look at them, and you can see the obvious pride that their families have in watching the graduation exercises. A high point for me is always seeing how sharp they are, watching the drill formations, listening to the music, and seeing the respect given to the flag that so many have proudly served under.

Many people on television want us to believe that Christians are strange, and they often try to make a mockery out of prayer. The real story is that there's nothing strange about Christians or prayer.

Brother, please offer my CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes. It should also be known that millions of Christians pray for our armed forces every day, and I'll always be one of them.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Colossians 1:9-12 NASB
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

It's time for another HOT, FRESH cup of coffee. I just saw the thread title, and I can almost smell the coffee. Just give me a few minutes, and I will smell the coffee! Empty cups are not a good thing.

I would say GOOD MORNING!, but I'm a little bit late so I'll say GOOD AFTERNOON!

In case you're wondering, I didn't just get up and this isn't my first cup of coffee for the day. I was actually an early bird today and have been fixing the last few problems on my computer. I actually think that it's rock solid now. If I'm wrong, I have a method of a super quick reinstall now. I have used the "KISS" principle, and things are as simple as I can get it with outstanding backups. All of my critical things that I don't want to lose are also organized pretty well on DVD's.

HAPPY SON-DAY!

EVERY DAY IS SON-DAY!

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 NASB
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Hello Everyone!

Get a cup of coffee, lean back, and enjoy a Bible Study. OR, how about just reading a portion of the Bible and letting HIS WORD speak to your heart and mind. Things like this are Spiritual Food for our Spirits, and we need this food often. In fact, we need it more than we need food for our physical bodies. GOD has already provided a wonderful buffet with all good things, and the buffet is FREE. Eat and fill yourselves with the good things that GOD has provided.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 1:18-23 NASB I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
