Brother Bob,

I don't have the answer for how to do that today with the modern operating systems. These days we might have several versions of the same OS and hundreds of updates. There might be a plan and a way of keeping install DVDs up to date, but I wouldn't know how. That's what I liked about the older systems, including DOS.

I actually think that they have a plan these days to fix it where it's almost impossible for someone to completely restore an OS unless they go backward in time and forget all the updates. Nothing is simple these days. UM?? - DOS - the good old days.   Grin

I still have DOS 3.0 to 6.2, also every version of windows from 3.0 to XP pro.  Seems like the newer versions, are getting worse with each version.

Brother Bob,

I understood DOS and ran it for years. In fact, I liked it.

I'm already running and experimenting with Linux Christian Ubuntu, and I think I'm going to like it. I need a new modem before I can try the Internet.

Contrary to what many have said, Linux is not all that hard, and it isn't just for Geeks. Much of it is really pretty easy and automated. It just gets difficult with some of the weird hardware they try to save money with in many new computers. A perfect example is my internal Winmodem. If I had a middle of the road modem, I'd already be using Ubuntu on the Internet.

The biggest difference I see so far is that everything is FREE, and I'm talking about some really excellent programs. Programs like Firefox, Thunderbird, and Open Office are not the exceptions. They have free versions of just about everything, and the system is much more secure than Microsoft. AND, if you really want to lock the system down with high security, there are outstanding virus and firewall programs.

I don't have everything figured out yet, but all appears to be pretty logical and easy. It's the "work-arounds" to use non-Linux programs that are a little bit GEEKY and difficult. Native programs are easy to install and use. I'll let everyone know more later.

Just anted to say thanks to Dreamweaver. I put a link up to your website on Poems page, also added Tom's site as well. The more access people have to the Truth, the better equipped they will be for their future.
Hope you've all had a good day. Time to relax, have a cup of coffee and enjoy this rainy afternoon. First rain we have had in a long while. Praise the Lord!!  Stop that low lake muck fire.

Hello Islandboy and All,

I've had a really good day so far. I'm retired, so a good day for me is Bible Study and fellowship.

I also have my coffee.   Wink

I haven't spent a second today in worrying about global warming or another ice age.   Grin

It's simply another wonderful day that the LORD has made - let us be glad and rejoice in it.

Goodnight Sister Def,

Sleep well. You just reminded me of an old song that will always be one of my favorites: "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine." I remember this song all the way back to being a small child. I also remember lessons given from the Bible about the LIGHT of JESUS and having the LIGHT of JESUS within us to share with others.

This is a beautiful thought, and I like the reality that Christians can be beacons of LIGHT in a dark and suffering world. It makes me very happy to hear about others wanting the LIGHT and escaping from the darkness. The LIGHT is with us for eternity, and no power in the universe can put this beautiful LIGHT out.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Timothy 6:12 NASB  Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Ephesians 4:4-6 NASB  There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NASB  Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
