I usually leave a half hour early if there's snow or ice. Our roads are clear here today. We only got less than 3 inches yesterday. Many of the young kids here have never driven in snow or ice until now. We haven't really had any for about 10 years so we have a lot of greenhorns on the road. There's more snow coming here on Tues, Weds and Thurs.

With the roads cleared today and well salted we still have those that are driving 10 mph in a 55 zone and others doing 65 in the same area. That makes it really dangerous.

You would think they would, especially when the roads are covered with snow or ice.  Undecided

But they don't think about that sister.  All they can think about is hurry, hurry, hurry. Undecided

Join the club brother, only the speed limit here is 65, and they are doing 70+ mph. Cry

65 is on the freeway here and I don't get up there very often anymore. 55 is on a very short county road where there is a residential area on each end of a three mile stretch.

Sister Maria, I remember being in the hills of N. Carolina during the winter. There were a lot of Floridians that would come there on vacation to enjoy the downhill skiing. Some of them had second homes in the mountains. Most of the locals called them Floridiots because of the way the drove on the winding mountain roads.  Cheesy Cheesy Lips Sealed Lips Sealed

Brother Roger, what I don't understand is most Floridians are from up north and should be used to driving in snow and ice, then they get here and they forget how to drive  Undecided Undecided Grin Grin

Well as I sit here drinking my coffee, the answer to global warming popped up.  The global warming is because of all us, drinking hot drinks. Wink

Seriously though, global warming is a farce, the temp here is 5 degrees.  That is the normal temp for this time of the year.  Least for where I am in the White Mountians.  Some places are colder, then 5 degrees in the White Mountians.

It's 23 here with a wind chill of 11. That is pretty much normal for here also.

Right at the moment, the wind isn't blowing.  The radio just reported that in Hon-Dah the temp is -4 degrees.  Thats only about 25 miles from here.  Though in all fairness,  they are higher in alt. 7,500 feet.

Our weather is fairly strange right now. We are getting frozen rain right now, but it isn't cold enough to keep it frozen. So, it has to be colder in the sky than it is on the ground. Yes - I figured that out all by myself.   Cheesy

It's a blazing 38 degrees right now, and I've reported the heat wave to Al Gore.   Grin

Here it is windy, and the temperature in Ford Hex-plorer this morning was all the way up to 28!
