Good Morning Sister Maria! You'll have to drink 3 cups of coffee just to catch up. Pastor Roger and I got a head-start on you. In case you're wondering, the above is me with my Christian Fundamentalist hat, and gentlemen are always supposed to tip their hats to the ladies.

Brother, if I can figure out what is wrong with my computer or with mozilla I might be able to see the animations, but right now all of my gifs are stoic. I am almost tempted to reformat my drive, so I can get what ever the problem is taken care of. Firefox keeps freezing up on me still and then I get an error telling me it is not responding. and it shuts me down. Same thing that was happening with IE. My husband updated IE to IE7 and has been having problems with his computer ever since then. I am also getting a lot of popups even though I have the popup catcher on and the ad block on. OH Well I'll just wait til my husband had time to work on my computer and see what the problem is.

It's a little green smiley face that tips his hat showing his ruffled hair.
Sister I don't know what else to say about your computer problem if you tried all that we suggested you do. If none of that worked then it probably is time for a reformat.

Yes I remember the smiley from before my computer started acting up I have tried several things but nothing has changed I've done virus scans, spyware scans, ad-adblock scans, defragrags, disc scans, system restore, I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it and nothing has worked. I have hesitated to install open office because I don't know how that will affect my bellsouth connection for my email I am still using outlook. There are a few more things I can try and then I guess my husband is going to try to clean the registry and we'll go from there I just really hate when I have to do a reformat cause then it takes me a long time to reinstall all my things. That will be the last recourse.

Sister Maria,
I also wish that I knew what to tell you. I do know that I had almost two days of problems after installing IE7. I thought for a time that I would have to start over, but I finally went back far enough on a system restore and everything started working again.
My problem wasn't graphics. I couldn't even get Windows to load for quite some time except in safe mode. I did manage to uninstall IE7. I also disabled Windows Defender, Windows Update, and Windows Firewall before the last restore that finally worked. Further, I left them disabled, but I really don't know if they had anything to do with the problem or not.

Andre upgraded IE to IE7 the other day and he's been having nothing but problems since then. I think he is going to uninstall it and try it again. Some new software is just not configured with the computer I guess. Maybe that is what is happening to me. I was fine until I upgraded from Firefox 1 to Firefox 2. This is just making me impatient so I am going to let it go until I have the energy and time to really concentrate on it.

Hello Sister Maria, Sister, I seriously doubt that the problem is Firefox 2. I even used it in Beta stages with no problems at all. If you installed IE7 in about the same time frame, I would suspect IE7 as the problem and Bill Gates trying to take you hostage.

Hello Sister Maria,
Microsoft did hook Internet Explorer into the operating system, and many things don't work on Windows if you disable IE or something goes wrong or corrupt with IE. I wouldn't be able to list the services that depend on it, but I've always been told that it was a bad mistake to try and disable IE or take it off of your system. From what I understand, something malfunctioning in Internet Explorer can cause all kinds of problems in Windows. It appears that Bill Gates had a grand scheme to corner the market at one time on many Internet services.
There is a really sharp extension for Firefox called IE Tab, and it causes Firefox to emulate Internet Explorer on sites where that is needed (i.e. Windows Update). You just list the sites that need IE, and it automatically switches on when you go to one of those sites. It does work with IE 6 and below, but I don't know about IE7.
Love In Christ, Tom
Psalms 116:12-13 NASB What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? I shall lift up the cup of salvation And call upon the name of the LORD.
