Mr. Rogers would say "It's another wonderful day in the neighborhood".
The Holy Bible says "It's another wonderful day that the LORD has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it."I think that I like the second one better.

good morning all. Back to work today.......needed the rest. Got the old junk ripped off the roof, the new plywood (OSB for those paying attention to detail ) and the felt is on. We have a water tight roof for now. Thank God for all the help I had (especiallly my father and mother -in-law who were there every day after woork and all weekend too) and that no one got hurt. Aside from a staple through the finger...... Oops....just so you all know, when you hit your finger with a hammer stapler........it hurts, and not just cause you hit your finger....... ........once you realize that it wasn't just smacking it like with a hammer.....the sting of the staple in it starts I can ease up a bit now and just lay shingles.........the easy part really. I have to help one man from church with his roof next weekend. He was at our place every night after work too. His roof will be easy in comparison. He said that construction must be our church's ministry. "Why else would there be so many of us that know how to do it in one place?" Just have to get the projects behind us and figure out how to start the new ministry. Having some coffee.......and trying to stay awake.

Good Morning all and Amen to the new ministry. Helping those that need it in that manner is a wonderful thing. There are those that can't afford to hire a construction crew that could really use the assistance in repairing their homes. That sounds like a true mission from God to me.

At one point in my life, when I was able to do the work< I was running my own business on the side. It was electrical work mostly but I did do some construction work. I found a lot of elderly and handicapped people on fixed incomes that were not capable of doing the work themselves. It is a great feeling to be able to help them and a great opportunity to witness for the Lord.

AMEN, what a blessing it is to be able to help those that are less fortunate. I have an elderly widowed neighbor who is a retired school teacher. She is disabled now and uses a walker just to be able to walk around in her own home. She does do her own grocery and all but I noticed how she struggles just to get her grocery in one bag at a time. I have my own disabilities, and can only use one arm now due to a torn rotator cuff and a torn bicep, but I offered this lady help getting her grocery in she was so happy, she was hardly able to even lift a bag that had 2 gallons of milk in it. I could only carry one bag at a time too, but at least I don't always need a walker so I was able to get all herr grocery in. This woman now is so friendly to me. She is thrilled every time I knock on her door to check up on her. And what a witness to her she is a SDA, but no one else ever show up to check up on her or help her. She even asked where my my husband and I go to church. I think this is mostly a silent witness, but she sees that I care for her well being and she is slowly asking questions. I pray that one day soon I will be able to win her over for Jesus.

Brothers and Sisters,
It's a wonderful feeling to do things for others or simply to pray for them if we are unable to do things that we would like to for others. We have many sweet Christians here with varying levels of physical health and ability, and we must remember that JUST PRAYER is a wonderful and powerful GIFT that we can give to each other. SO, regardless of of physical strength and ability, GOD'S GIFTS to HIS children always involve 24/7 access to the THRONE OF GRACE in prayer.
Love In Christ, Tom
1 John 5:4-5 NASB For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Amen Brother Tom. We all have our God given abilities that is unique to each one of us and support for others according to those abilities is just as rewarding as any other. Prayer is one that we all have and is very important.

Amen. I agree prayer is one of the most powerful abilities God has given His children, and we should always be praying for each other and for the lost of the world that includes our very own neighbors.
People don't always know we are praying for them and they don't always have to know either, as the Holy Spirit intercedes for us as well.
I think that when we show others love and do nice things for them, especially if they aren't able to do for themselves, this allows them to become more receptable to the Word. This has happened in many cases even where my husband works his willingness to show tru compassion for others, his ready smile and genuine intrest in others has led many people tell me what a blessing he has been to them. This has opened doors and a few of his co-workers have visited our church and have even asked me where we go to church. When we invite them they are willing to go and some have rededicated their life to Jesus.
