All shaved, no cuts, and I even started washing out my safety equipment.

Been a while since I actually had to use it for an interveiw.

History lesson........ Grin

I have been in the metal working industry for 14 years.

Both as a welder and a machinist. Currently I am a suporvisor of both. the position I am applying for is siilar and requires me to exibit my proficiancy in both to verify my resume.

the safety equipment is nothing mor than my welding helmet and safety glasses. I don't like to use other peoples gear since they tend to sweat in it and it is a bit gross. So I bring my own.

I was assured that I would not need to perform a skills test but opted to bring the gear anyhow.....just in case.

This thread has taken off to. I guess when you snooze ......    Grin Grin Grin

My prayers are with you also Rook.

My son just got started at a machine shop about 3 and half months ago. They started him out on the wash tanks and packing. They moved him to a machine in less than three months because they liked his work. After 2 weeks of training they moved him to his own machine on 2nd shift. His output is equal to the best of the machinists with no rejects. He did have a reject last night but it was a casting problem that didn't show itself until it was half way done in his machine. The casting broke in half.

As an electrician I used to install and repair those machines. I had to pull many a pc board and repair them. One machine I had to build a pc board from scratch because the company that made the machine was out of business.

I know what you mean sister. It would be nice to be able to go back to work.

I got my pictures developed that I took when I was in Chicago.  I thought that this one was cute.  It was of the kids that we played with and in the background is the building that we were working on.  If you guys ever wondered what I look like, here it is:

I know where that is. I was in that neighborhood about a month ago. It looks like they have come a long way on that building.

It is such a satisfying experience working with kids, isn't it?

Hey, that's cool.

The children were trying to teach me how to play double dutch and were singing different songs.  I watched for the double dutch I was afraid that I was going to fall on my face.

The building is going to be a mission.  Three churches are working together on it.  I guess over there they have money exchange places to pay their bills and they get charged for that, so this mission will provide computers so they don't have to pay extra paying bills.  Then the churches can use the middle room for sermons and there is going to be a cafe' and some sort of children's ministery.
