Has anyone else had problems, opening new threads? I know a few times I've refreshed and have been kicked off, the forum. I talked yesterday with my ISP, and they told me, it wasn't at my end. Today, I tried for a little over an hour, to get back on the forum.

Resting in the hands, of the Lord.

I had a problem early this morning, about 5 AM forum time, where I couldn't get in at all for about an hour. Other than that I haven't had any problems at all.

Dreamweaver,

Cheesy  Brother, I did notice the new function that records the amount of time on the forum. However, there are so many new things that I doubt we've found them all yet.

I know that many of us have been excited about getting this new forum software for a long time, and now we have it - THANKS TO ADMIN! I can only speak for myself and say that I was having fun trying to check that everything was working and trying the new things. My conclusion is this software is fast, easy to use, and has all kinds of new features that are really nice.

Reference problems early this morning in getting on or using the forum, I also experienced problems. I checked several things with my firewall logs and determined there was something tying up the CU server. I suspect that it might have been something like spambots trying to harvest email addresses on the forum. Users that have been here any length of time probably know that ADMIN has the system set to deny any robot type device from getting any personal information on a single member here. I know this ties up system resources, and I don't know enough about servers to even guess if there is a way to stop these robot type information harvesters from tying up system resources. I would simply say that I'm happy that ADMIN is determined to protect the private information of users here. If it means delays from time to time, I would still want the private information protected. I know that some of these same things happen to HUGE SERVERS.

I was just thinking about a problem that I reported to ADMIN within the last couple of weeks. I thought that Christians Unite was completely down, but the problem was with a routing server between my ISP and Christians Unite. The problem lasted about 12 hours and had nothing at all to do with the Christians Unite server. I also reported this problem to my ISP and never got an answer back. Many people were using Christians Unite, but I couldn't get to it at all. I just wanted to point out that there are many variables that effect different users in different ways and some users aren't effected at all.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi Guys,

Last night, as well as the night before, all night long, Yahoo's hotjobs spider was crawling the site at the rate of about 25 pages per second, (yes, per second) and requesting the same pages over and over again. The bogged the server down completely Angry, and even necessary server functions, like back-ups, devotional mailings, etc. couldn't be done.

I have finally been able to ban them from the site. I did some searching on Google, and this isn't the first time that Yahoo has launched such attacks. I'm sure it won't be the last.  And they haven't answered my emails.

Brother Ray, I just want to let you know just how much I appreciate what you have done. I know it must be vary hard to make sure that this forum keeps running smoothly and that our privacy is protected. You have certainly been doing that and I know you will continue to do so.
Let me say thank you, thank you so much..
