The ACLU is getting Rich off Christians
«
on:
October 02, 2005, 02:05:53 AM »
For years, the ACLU has made a fortune by suing and receiving
compensation for attorney fees on cases that they filed--not
just any cases--but cases that impact the Christian faith.
Recently in Nebraska, the ACLU was awarded $156,960 after
a judge overturned an amendment to the Nebraska constitution
defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman--
even though 70 percent of Nebraska voters supported the amendment!
Over the last few years, American taxpayers have given
the ACLU and various pro-abortion organizations upwards
of $6,000,000 in court awards, following the Supreme Court's
decision in which it declared the Nebraska partial birth
abortion ban unconstitutional. These awards have affected
30 states!
Roger, this courtroom campaign has netted the
ACLU untold millions, and continues to fuel the group's
insatiable drive to secularize our nation!
So what can grassroots Christians do?
+ + Defund the ACLU now
Recently, U.S. Representative John Hostettler introduced the
Public Expression of Religion Act of 2005 (HR 2679)--legislation
that would prevent secular organizations from collecting attorney
fees after suing communities to remove religious symbols.
The Center for Reclaiming America for Christ is calling on
members of their online team to rally and mobilize at least
100,000 citizen petitions to present to Congress within the
next 30 days, urging lawmakers to support the Hostettler bill.
You can help us expose and defund the ACLU by adding your
name to our petition:
http://www.cfra.info/33/petition.asp?RID=9333644
Unless Christians take a strong stand to end the ACLU's
license to print money, these kinds of attacks on our
rights to publicly acknowledge God will continue to
escalate.
Please sign our petition today!
And after signing, please forward this important message
to your friends and family, urging them to follow your lead.
Thanks for standing with us in the battle to expose and
defund the ACLU.
Dr. Gary Cass
Executive Director
Center for Reclaiming America for Christ
P.S. We really want to move rapidly on this issue! That is
why as soon as we reach our 100,000 goal, I will alert my
staff to finalize presentation plans to get your petition
into the hands of key lawmakers! Please sign the petition
today:

Plus 2 more signatures for the petition: My wife and I
I think this petition is brilliant and one of the few ways to start putting the ACLU out of business.
I hope and pray that all Christians sign this petition!
Love in Christ,
Tom

Pastor Roger, if you could pass the link on to me through PM, I know of another Christian forum where I can drop this off.
EDIT: Nevermind. I figured out a way to pass it on. Peace out bro! XD

Just hours after launching our "de-fund" the ACLU petition, I
received word that we had touched a raw nerve with Christians
who supported our call to action.
Roger, here at the Center, we watched in amazement as
tens of thousands of outraged citizens from all from across the
nation lined up to add their names to our petition ... and it
continues!
Now just a few weeks into our campaign, we have already
shattered our original goal of mobilizing 100,000 signatures!
+ + 117,532 and Growing!
Even as I write this update, support continues to build, with
hundreds of citizens adding their names every day!
This is incredible news, because now I can finalize plans
to present YOUR petitions, and those of tens of thousands
of others, to Representative John Hostettler (R-IN), who
has introduced the Public Expression of Religion Act of 2005
(HR 2679)--vital legislation that would keep secular
organizations like the ACLU from collecting attorney fees
after suing communities to remove religious symbols.
Click here to read more about this legislation:
http://www.reclaimamerica.org/Pages/NEWS/newspage.asp?story=2859
I must tell you, I did not expect to reach our goal this quickly.
But it is a clear message to me and to our lawmakers that the
grassroots voice of the people is speaking out loudly on this
issue, and THEY WANT ACTION!
+ + Petition Delivery Announcement!
In less than two weeks, we will put your petitions into the
hands of Rep. Hostettler in support of his legislation!
The idea of defunding the ACLU has really ignited a passion
in believers that has been nothing short of overwhelming.
That is why I am asking you to use these next 7 days to
help the Center rally an additional 30,000 citizen signers!
This kind of momentum will really bolster Rep. Hostettler's
push for this legislation, so I need you to work hard in
the coming days.

Pastor Roger,
AMEN BROTHER!!
I am convinced that nearly all Christians would sign this petition without a second thought. We might even be surprised that many non-Christians would sign this petition.
The ACLU has gone beyond anti-Christ and anti-Christian to far past anti-American.
Further, I am convinced that any reasonably worded ballot to remove all power from the ACLU would pass in an overwhelming manner. The average American, not just Christians, have had all they can stand of the ACLU!
It's time to send the ACLU home, be that Russia, Iran, North Korea, or any country that will accept them!
Love in Christ,
Tom
Titus 2:11-14 NASB For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

The ACLU
The American Civil Liberties Union, which is inclined to believe that it not only invented integrity, but holds the patent, has decided it is too ethical to worry about whether or not it is subsidizing terrorism.
The organization was about to get kicked off the list of charities to which federal workers could contribute under the government's payroll-deduction donation program, which is called the Combined Federal Campaign. So it withdrew first. ''You can't fire me, I quit.''
Through the CFC, federal workers can select their favorite charities and designate an amount to be withheld from their checks and sent on to support organizations the workers would like to help out.
Because there are millions of government employees, getting on the list is a big deal for the charities.
The ACLU, for example, expected to rake in some $500,000 this year through the CFC
, which distributes a total of almost $250 million to some 2,000 groups.
But there's one teensy little problem, and that is that President Bush, shortly after 9/11, signed an executive order making it illegal for you, me, or any other American to give financial support to terrorism.
Now, if you're the head of the CFC and you read that, you'd probably figure you should make sure none of the charities on your list are supporting terrorism. So a letter went out, requiring each charity on the list to certify that it didn't knowingly employ terrorists, or contribute to terrorist organizations.
After all, the 9/11 terrorists specifically targeted federal workers for their heinous act. Shouldn't the surviving federal workers be protected against unknowingly contributing money to those who support their fallen comrades' murderers?
It sounds reasonable to me, and back in January, the ACLU apparently agreed, and signed the certification. Then some of the organization's leaders started having second thoughts, and the internal row made Page One of the New York Times.
Basically, the two sides in the internal ACLU argument were: a) those who said it was all right to sign the certification because it was just a sham anyway; they had no intention of actually checking for terrorists, and b) those who said this was just as awful as way back in 1940 when the ACLU actually kicked Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, a known communist, off its board, and you know what a mistake that was thank goodness they finally came to their senses and reinstated her, albeit posthumously.
Anyway, the B group carried the day, and the ACLU quit the CFC rather than check its employees against a list of known terrorists.
The lists, critics claim, are ''notoriously riddled with errors,'' and this idea seems to be a hook the ACLU and a handful of other left wing organizations who are considering dropping out of the CFC are hanging onto. The ACLU executive director
Anthony D. Romero
even claims to have found an
Antonio Romero
on one of the lists, although it is (to the surprise of some) not the same guy.
Protecting innocent people from guilt by mistaken identity is a legitimate concern of a civil libertarian organization, but there's hypocrisy hiding in those weeds, my friends, and the ACLU unwittingly exposes it by bringing up the Gurley-Flynn case.
Being a member of the Communist Party in 1940 meant that you were also on the side of the Nazis, since the Stalin-Hitler Pact was in force from August 1939 until June 1941. As an American, and therefore possessed of American Civil Liberties, Gurley-Flynn, who wrote a column for the Daily Worker, had every right to hold those views.
But it is quite another thing indeed for her to sit as a board member of an organization supposedly dedicated to American Civil Liberties while at the same time professing solidarity with two of the most heinous enemies of all civil liberty that the world has ever known.
The organization has famously defended the rights of the Ku Klux Klan, as if to prove the purity of their thought.
But ACLU has never invited a Klansman to join its board. See the difference?
Gurley-Flynn chaired the Communist Party USA from 1961 until her death in 1964. She died in Moscow and was given a state funeral in Red Square.
Incredibly, in 1976, the ACLU rescinded its 1940 decision, and posthumously reinstated her to its board. Today, the organization regards its earlier decision to drop a supporter of Hitler and Stalin from its board to have been ''a reprehensible mistake.''
This is the background against which the organization's attitude about the terrorist lists must be judged.
Today, as the left, most assuredly including the ACLU, transfers its coddling of America's enemies from the Communist Party to al-Qaeda, it hypocritically blathers about the accuracy of lists, without bothering to say if it really makes any difference, and raising these questions: if members knew for sure that a given organization which benefited from their support was tied to terrorism, would they discontinue that support? If they knew for sure that a given employee was a supporter of al-Qaeda, would they fire him?
Everything they've said so far in their dispute with the CFC suggests the answer to those questions is not just ''no,'' but ''hell, no.''
